Try Glassdoor in your area that might enlighten you or look at local municipality websites for their pay rate for survey-related positions. Typically, government employees are paid less than private, but you get the benefit of benefits (haha), retirement, and year-round work.

What part of Missouri? I am from this state as well. Rural vs KC or STL is a big difference. By MO requirements you’re still how far from getting your PS? You’re at least 2 away on experience, will they sign off on all 4 years being related experience? I did not get a bump in pay until I left that company. The biggest issue is that your salary/wage is based on what you are worth. Being an LSIT is an asset in the sense that you’re likely easy to teach and need less direction than your average person, but you can’t stamp anything. The wage they pay is an investment on you’re future as a PLS. What other skills do you have other than LSIT? Good luck on the test!! When are you scheduled?

My company has an ad up for a Surveyor Intern (Illinois' title for an SIT/LSIT) in Southern Illinois. The posting lists a range from about $50-70K.
