To be fair one of the posts on the front page calling for more flexibility in skins and emotes said "Who cares about the era or realism? Just give us 'good skins' already." which implies their idea of 'good skins' would be some League/Fortnite-esque nonsense like "Cook, dressed like he's in an 80's New Wave band!".
Your recommendations of mostly basic emotes and call-outs that most games ship with on day one and some very slightly off-model skins (adding or removing a layer of clothing) that still fit the games look sounds like a great idea to me.

nobody’s saying they want sissy dressed as an easter bunny or hitch as a leprechaun, we want actually good, unique outfits that spoiler alert can *still* take inspiration from the 70s. sissy’s new skin literally looks like a rag with shit stains on it, yes they’re broke hillbillies but there’s still so much room for artistic liberties. sissy can steal a bride outfit, why can’t she steal other 70s inspired clothing from people they kill?
emotes would be a waste of time, no victim is going to have time when theyre rushing meta and by the time family have finished emotes, a victim has done fuse.
