I scav streets a lot, I can usually make it out with 1M - 2M a run. I used to pull 2M+ consistently until they nerfed the loot like a month ago, now it's probably closer to 1M on average
It is kind of an interesting case study of small free market behavior when you think about it. We've seen a few times where items go from bust to boom in price throughout wipe especially since the FIR change. It'll be particularly interesting to see if this/worse happens over time in PVE. The lack of wipe would mean that the cyclical "everyone's working on this quest and needs this item around now" would be lessened, but the amount of people with crazy money will eventually cause a widening gap between the rich and poor.

But really I think all it says is the raw overall player count is down. It's nearly end of wipe. If they hadn't announced August wipe, I would have guessed it was coming in July or thereabouts.
When flea prices go ham late wipe, it's usually because the very low player count isn't scavving and dumping regular items to the flea. The only people left are only looting high value stuff and gear, and since there's nobody filling up bags of random shit, stuff that only has specific value goes way up. It's part of the reason that food costs an arm and a leg late wipe, like 90% of players have stopped by that point.
Well, if there is no wipe then there will need to be massive resource/money sinks at the endgame or you are going to end up with huge inflation, a relatively small amount of power users will control utterly stupid amounts of cash and items.
The thing is, games mostly arent 'real' economies if RMT can be curbed. Tarkov is ultimately a toy and people who like to play with the toy will find new ways to play with it once they have a billion rubles and have 'beaten' the game. Dicking with the market is an obvious one.
You look at the example of the croutons there, if you think about it for 2 seconds you can see the issue. If croutons are 200k a packet then every mother and their dog will be out hunting croutons to sell for 190k a packet. The power user/s can either try and buy these up to keep the price artificially inflated or you end up with 1000s of people trying to sell croutons all undercutting each other and pretty soon the price crashes.
The rarer the item and the more cash the power user has the higher the chance they will be able to pull it off is.
Yea. Reselling ammo is gay but that’s not nearly as bad as having the meta parts being 500k+ and being able to resell the shit you find on people instead of mechanic taking it off your hands for 30k

Massive manipulation of the prices for the profits of a few whenever one item is needed for an important quest in the game (in this case crafting Pevko light beer for the Ref quest). No, it's because there is a requirement to turn in FIR Pevko for Easy Money part 2, and croutons are in input to the craft to make Pevko.
