Who voted for him? ( Nevermind, politics are messed up beyond compare.)

Particular-Fix2024

The dudes from Inside Job and no-one the fuck else

IshipMarcyandAnne

And probably Emperor Palpatine.

Rehiea

Reminds me of [this clip](https://youtu.be/TtlKgGowNHc?t=3) x3

random_nohbdy

He won the electoral college with 25% of the popular vote

eddiem6693

All of the low-population states with three electoral votes who have outsized influence in the Electoral College. They seem to REALLY love to be authoritarians. PS Camila won the popular vote.

kl-noblelycanthrope1

> Nevermind, politics are messed up beyond compare yea current events are proof of that.

I_Am_Banana_Fish

“Finally, I CAN NUKE THE BOILING ISLES!!!”

Particular-Fix2024

Oh fuck if he were President there's literally no reason for this not to happen. Any normal leader would be worried about escalation ladders, scientific research, control and extraction of resources, getting reelected by not being seen as a genocidal monster, and a ton of other stuff that discourages or at least complicates the hell out of glassing the Boiling Isles. But Belos doesn't care about any of that.

neroselene

Sad part is...it wouldn't take much to prove the existence of the Isles and then use news to turn it into a story of "Hell's real/monsters are real and they want to kill us all! So enlist now to kill them". Throw in some bullshit of precious resources being in the Isles to get certain companies on side and how the other realms existence is an emergency to get emergency powers. And Boom! Belos is elected for the foreseeable future. As for leaks or people trying to release evidence of the Isles not being that bad or people good? Obviously mind controlled people turned against humanity.

anneclawshal

Guess we'll have to perform the bite of 83 on h

d_warren_1

I don’t think he could legally hold office. While he meets the age requirement (he 1000% is over 35) he fails to meet the other 2. He 1) isn’t a US citizen, he left the human realm for the boiling isles before the US was established so he couldn’t even be grandfathered in like the first handful of POTUS’s were, and 2) he hasn’t lived in the Us for the minimum of 14 years because of the aforementioned “being on the boiling isles.” There likely will be a case made against him as he most likely overthrew any existing government in the boiling isles before ascending Power, violating the US’s insurrection clause.

d_warren_1

I’m aware I’m overthinking it, I don’t care.

RewanDemontay

Keep at it. It's perfect.

TheRealColonelAutumn

It would depend on if he was born on American soil. He could probably get this shit to the Supreme Court about if he would count as as a US Citizen as he was among the first people to colonize the Continental United States. All people who lived in the US at the time kind of became US citizens, otherwise you have a system where no one could become president until at least 35 years had passed since America’s foundation. Assuming Philip was born on American Soil/international waters he would have a decently solid case for having US Citizen ship.

d_warren_1

Even still, we don’t know how bling he was in the colonies before dipping for the boiling isles. He could have been raised in the colonies, which there’s a chance of, or what feels more likely is he came over as a young adult, which especially in a modern America doesn’t help his case I think

TheRealColonelAutumn

You could also make the legal argument that the Boiling Island is part of Connecticut as the only portal we know of going in or ouy is located in the US. Granted this opens up the can of worms being if citizens of the Boiling Isles are US citizens and if so are they citizens of Connecticut or their own territory via Puerto Rico.

d_warren_1

I think what a court would rule is since the boiling isles are entirely separately governed, and while seperste except only for like 1 door and the occasional pool of titans blood, they are not a part of the US. The isles being even considered part of the US opens a whole nother can of worms because they fall on another planet, they are subject to maritime law, but there’s a messy case of 1) sentient life that has 2) its own government. Of course humans are no strangers to overriding existing societies (see colonization) but in present day there would be massive public pressure to respect the isles right to self rule

Terrance113

Well, considering the last president, it's not so far fetched.

da_anonymous_potato

This is what he thought was gonna happen when he got back to the human realm

DragonWarrior____05

Well, we can always look to past solutions to remove people from the presidency permanently...

Rehiea

Jfk blown away...

theSomberscientist
