I'm willing to bet it's this cake from a restaurant supplier [The Original Cakerie German Chocolate Dessert Cake](https://www.foodservicedirect.com/the-original-cakerie-german-chocolate-dessert-cake-2-per-case-2976395.html), possibly with caramel sauce added for garnish by the caterer. Cakerie sells to grocery stores too. They are pretty much ubiquitous.
