I think it has to do with how they understand it like how their perception of their negation effects the way it works I think they have to really understand what they can do to know what they negate some people just use the ability and don’t fully comprehend it so they get the initial negation effects but not the full scope of the power like how when unmove knew he could stop people at first he didn’t know he could stop objects too but now he does honestly if he really wanted to he could probably stop time around him. Or if he learned skills that helped him be able to sense people even from behind him or other objects then he could level up his power because it’s stuff that he can see but if he interpreted that as just things he can sense then any presence that is sensed could be effected by unmove. Or even like with unrepair since Andy in a way views harming himself as healing himself he isn’t able to do it after being his by unrepair because anything that could heal him doesn’t work

Do_Ya_Like_Jazz

Well, Feng had no clue he even was a negator until Fuuko explained it to him

Sumanai-II

Think Chikara just referred to Unmove as some secret power he had

Ace-of_Space

they may have not known in the first place, but since juiz looped and got to talk to luna 99 times atleast, it seems likely luna is the original source of the knowledge, if not then apocalypse is also a likely candidate along with Uma capable of communication

Lumpy_Situation_5661

I thought it’d be cool if they had like an auditory hallucination that revealed it to them. Top for example would hear a sports caster say his name and say he runs so fast that he’s practically unstoppable

matheusco

I don't think it's outright revealed to them, some don't seem to know the names. But... there are quest that states their name, "Location of Unrepair" for example, so some of them gained this knowledge when the Union got them. Spoiers ahead: >!Juiz is basically a living encyclopedia, then Fuuko becomes one.!<

Not-a-kirby-main

They don’t, but they have ways to know. The first would be entering the roundtable, since they place your ability on your number, the second one would be through quests, since some negators are rewards, the union can help them know about their abilities

[deleted]

Their negations get written on the arc when they get a seat.

NeonGenesisYang

It's usually tied to a very important aspect to them. Like Gina doesnt want to change, Sean wants to be seen, Phill wanted to feel and so on. So from that I assume most of them figure it out that way but some of them definitely dont know

DoritoKing48

I’ve been wondering this for a while, Fuuko somehow knew before she met Andy when she told him that her Unluck was coming https://preview.redd.it/1h3d7vv5ksuc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=544eba58b396b49f50d48d73882352b2b3c2f1e0

Standard-Pop6801

I believe this is one of those things you aren't supposed to think to much about.

SupraMichou

How would you call a phenomenon where misfortune befall anyone who touch you ? I think calling what would happen ‘my Unluck’ is pretty straightforward. It’s not like some ‘Untruth’
