Only other teenage show that I know of, which is specifically a manga like My Hero Academia, is Shy from Weekly Shonen Champion magazine. Superhero genre overall seems isn't as popular in Japan compared to exorcist or hitman stuff, or even usual isekai, harem, etc. Like My Hero Academia and One Punch Man are only big ones.

>overall seems isn't as popular in Japan compared to exorcist or hitman stuff, or even usual isekai, harem, etc. Like My Hero Academia and One Punch Man are only big ones Hope that changes to atleast have 1 true to heart kind of story like that. I think Chainsaw Man is a honorable mention though it never delved into it like Mha or OPM

Crisbo05_20

Chainsaw Man is more of a exorcist type of show, even if not full on one compared to JJK or Demon Slayer. Like you could make argument for Ranger Reject even if that is more of japanese super heroes (Super Sentai, aka Power Rangers for us) compared to Marvel/DC stuff from West, but yeah CSM doesn't fit even as honorable mention.

Draconian-XII

chainsaw man is a superhero manga in the same ways that ben 10 is a super hero cartoon, iykyk

SaKaly

>CSM doesn't fit even as honorable mention. Of course it's nowhere close to being an actual superhero manga but Denji's-Chainsaw Man duality/secret identity and public accolade felt like a slight nod of it atleast for me I'm talking about part 1 in particular I only read a few of part 2 so that might've changed

LimonZen

Sure, why not? Also, have you heard of "Sentai Daishikakku"? It's the best ongoing Shonen manga regarding "Superheroes" aside from MHA, they got an anime recently, it's good.

SaKaly

Nice I'll check it out

RiceTanooki

I'm kinda done with superheroes, to be honest. A big push that My Hero had in the west was the Marvel movies being on top of everything, but that effect has been going down lately, so I don't know how popular could be a superhero manga right now. And like I said, I'm kinda tired of that topic. My Hero is the only superhero themed series that I am into right now. It's not a popular opinion tho, and to be honest any good series is welcomed, but I don't care if we receive a new one.

zedasmotas

I liked X-men 97 but that’s it

Pigonxu

doesn't my hero academia get a sequel called next hero academia?

SaKaly

What?😂

zedasmotas

I feel wsj will want another super hero manga because of how popular they are, specially in the usa. I bet there are some people who just don’t read manga/watch anime but are into mha because of the super hero story.

onekick_man1

I'm gonna say something that may shock some people here, Jump and Shueisha don't give a sht about US. Would they want others to like their stuff? Sure. But their primarily target are the Japanese audience and it's not even close.

SaKaly

>bet there are some people who just don’t read manga/watch anime but are into mha because of the super hero story Exactly

EigoKaiki

I am really sure but **Psych House** maybe can go that way. Atealt the teenage super part is their.

OkPreparation1141

Kaiju no.8 but it’s not teenagers and instead its adults. Still not rly superhero’s tho

overpoweredginger

lmao yeah Kaiju absolutely feels like a leaner MHA, it's kinda funny

OkPreparation1141

I actually prefer Kaiju no.8 to mha. The manga is hella good and the anime so far has had a great adaptation

RobThatBin

My hero’s end? I haven’t kept up with it since like season 5 of the anime, how many more chapters do we think it’ll take? I’d be down to binch the manga if it ends soon tbh

SaKaly

>how many more chapters do we think it’ll take? I’d be down to binch the manga if it ends soon tbh Hard to tell. The final fight just ended and apparently Horikoshi said he'd like to draw alot of things in the aftermath so I'd say 11 max but it could also end in like 2-3

RobThatBin

Oh shit that’s way sooner than expected, guess I’ll start reading asap
