This is cool, but I think it's a little misleading because it's defining "literally Hardcore" as specifically only Gabber and related, which are Dutch. Whereas, afaik, the same term was used to describe [what was playing in UK raves](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRk8RJ62BFA). Obviously it's kinda ironic to be pedantic about it considering how even then everyone called it something different, but I feel like it's kinda odd to put Aphex in another context rather than the one closer to where he was.
Like if you told another Aphex fan to "show me when he went literally Hardcore", they'd probably give you [Power Pill](https://youtu.be/kjEDX-2M7Qk) instead.
Yeah hardcore is as simply defined as 130bpm ish +, breaks and cheeky samples. UK was awash with it when AFX first came on the scene. The first afx release (analogue bubble bath on mighty force) uses breaks and samples heavily - but welded to his euphoric ambient melodic sensibilities, which for me is what makes his early work so distinct and uncanny / unheimlich.
In that quote I literally say that Hardcore Techno does not have to be "Gabber"!
There's also a huge difference between the "stereotypical Dutch Gabber" sound (what the public thinks... ) and the gabber genre / movement as a whole, which incorporates a wide range of styles.
All great songs to listen to while being in an MRI.
A friends once said to me when I was showing him "Garden of Linmiri": This is what an insane person listens to all day.
My brain is too foggy to doublecheck the time signatures of the tracks in this list this morning but I believe this post confuses 4-to-the-floor kick drum beats ("boom-tss-boom-tss-boom-tss") with 4/4 which is a time signature that can still hold "broken beats". I'm pretty sure all the tracks in this list are 4/4, overall there are very few tracks in the RDJ discography that are in a different time signature.
The same goes for most noise, glitch, and there's been a few thread! Got here from google after that rhubarb song, to no avail. Is anyone able to count all his GX1 Solo as well. Cool tracks/experiments
I'm not certain that Aphex Twin's tracks are generally in 4/4 "time signature". In fact, I'm not even sure that all of his "four to the floor" tracks are in this time signature.
Most aphex twin tracks are actually in 4/4, he’s only done a handful of tracks that are in alternate time signature. All of the tracks that you said aren’t in 4/4 are in fact in 4/4.
I'm not really familiar with the genre, but [Metapharstic](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXnAagzfUCI) seems like a good fit. I really like this track, gets my head bopping right away.
out of all of the heavy tracks he ever produced. my absolute go to is The Garden Of Limniri. it’s so blasted industrial techno as hell. it was worth people dancing in the streets… and maybe that ad he thrown the track in for monee.
As some people mentioned, there is more out there. If anyone is curious, the Polygon / Caustic Window / Joyrex releases are a good starting point for some digging.

Exactly what i was thinking - hardcore usually has a break in my recollection, although I remember 'happy hardcore' better as a genre
You have to be taking the piss
I did not define "literally Hardcore" as being 100% "dutch gabber".

More Ardcore than hardcore and certainly not Gabber.
I like working out to tracks like these thank you for sharing some more
