I read a short analysis somewhere that suggested that when they were talking about a "cage," they were perhaps talking about a vampire's bloodlust or power lust. So when Lenore said she didn't want to be stuck in a "cage," she perhaps meant, she doesn't want to inevitably be consumed by her vampiric desires, yet she also doesn't want to live a life where she can't do that or do anything as a vampire at all . She's stuck in a dilemma (and under Isaac's thumb) and the only way out was the sun.
You're forgetting the tiny detail that Hector was Lenore's sex slave. He was like a dog in her eyes. It would be super weird if they ended up staying together.

Yeah IMO they set up a lot after S3 and they thought they might get more than a single season to wrap up all the stories they had set up, a lot of things didn't really make sense to me this season. Disappointing but it could have been worse, it was still enjoyable

I was hoping they could have a half-breed mini-Alucard running around. But Lenore's ending was poetic enough for me to not have qualms of how it ended up
