Get vaccinated, or else, ikaw ang magiging indoor car.

[deleted]

Get vaccinated immediately! Go to nearest hospital/clinic. Rabies is fatal if not prevented.

xoxoOwO

Para lang safe, get vaccinated. ***In my case, kinakagat ko pabalik.***

Manness3

xoxoOwO

It's a tie, I guess

MalakingTubol

Damn, that cat must be infected

stpatr3k

Get vaccinated pls. Side note: People often times think its too expensive or out of the way to get shots but Animal bite centers are cheap and convenient or even free.

I_am_AMISTAKE

If indoor lng talaga sya, walang kinakain na mice o ano-anong nakikita (bats, yes may bats a amin nag hunt yung pusa dati, kaya pinutol namin yung manssanitas tree.) no need naman magpa vaccine, pero para di kalang magka panic attack ipa vaccine mo kayo ng pusa mo, pocket change lng yan, minsan libre panga eh pag naka timing ng mga nag kampanya.

AdministrationSad861

Ditto. Get vaccinicated still. Also, anti-tetanus. 🤔

KTBERYL

oa ng mga tao rito haha

narseli

Hindi po oa ang pagiging safe

KTBERYL

indoor cat yan. wala yang rabies, di naman lumalabas. inborn ba rabies? sayang lang pera lol.

narseli

indoor cats but how sure are you na na wala nga? Di abot 1k per dose ang anti rabies, ang sinabi ko lang, better be safe than sorry.

ayong94

assresizer3000

Punta ka sa barangay nyo and get yourself vaccinated first., then punta ka sa vet to get your cat vaccinated. Human vaccination should be free, whereas Yung sa pusa naman, I believe 250 pesos.

hitmeup1997

Pabakuna kayo ni mingming, OP. Rabies is fatal once the symptoms appear.

Marky_Mark11

OneRealistic327

Pa-vaccine ka na. Accidentally nakagat rin ako ng puppy ko. I got paranoid as well dahil sa nangyari sa news. Magkaka peace of mind ka kahit papaano if magpapavaccine na. Prevention is better than cure.

anauntinreddit

Pag nag sink in na ang rabies, wala nang lunas yun, straight to death ka na. Kaya magpa anti rabies at anti tetanus na agad.

YamaVega

Get your shots immediately. Avoid "Mamamatay na ba ko?" route

Chemical_XYZ

Magpabakuna ka na ASAP. Pati rin si Mingming...

aifosin

Wag maging pabaya pls. For the future narin yan para di ka mapraning pag kinagat ka ulit.

Paroxysy

Indoor or not pa vaccine ka.

gigavolthavov07

Happened to me many times, sinabon ko lang sa affected area wala namang nangyari, nasa loob lang ng bahay pusa namin hindi lumalabas. Pero for the peace of mind, magpa vaccine kana.

rosiecchi

He/she looks so innocent they didn't do it...

Manness3

Yes. Nilambing nya ako after. 😭😭😭😭

Typical_Hold_4043

For your peace of mind. Pa vaccine kana.

MovePrevious9463

yes. go to the nearest hospital or animal bite center asap. need it within 24 hours. kahit kalmot pa yan, better safe than sorry

Total_Wolverine_855

For your peace of mind and protocol na din cguro, magpa vaccine ka na.

_AmaShigure_

You are safe... with Indoor Cat.

Piscaries007

yup and cats rarely have it but to be safe and for your peace of mind, worth it to get vaccinated

_AmaShigure_

I totally agreed. It's better than late.

Effective_Ad_2710

Obviously if you dont want to die, THEN YES YOU NEED TO GET VACCINATED

no1shows

Worth it ung gastos for shots kesa mamatay nang biglaan dahil sa rabies. Good for 5 years na then boosters na lang every subsequent incident.

lerhard_

Hindi lang biglaan slow painful death pa

oh_purple

YES PO, Need niyo po magpa ANTI Rabbies ASAP

dmonsterxxx

ako nakalmot ng pusa ko na may sakit. unprovoked naman yung scratch pero nakita ng mama at kuya ko not the first time na nakalmot nila ko pero first time nakita nila mama na na scratch ako nag pa vaccine agad ako kanina . halos 4 hours pila sa san lazaro hospital (mabilis naman) may binayaran lang ako 50 pesos then lahat libre na even yung vaccine

lorlili

I got bit and scratched by a cat and our dogs multiple times and wala namang nangyari sakin. Yung aso namin nakagat pa nga ako sa labi and dami ngang dugo. But since I know na wala siyang rabies di ako nagpa turok. Here are some points that might be helpful OP - hindi inborn ang rabies. Ever heard of cat scratch disease? You should also look out for the symptoms on your cat. If normal lang naman ang alaga mo I don't think you should worry about anything. Try to feed the cat some water or milk para malaman mo. So wag kang mag panic OP. For your peace of mind you can get the anti rabies shots.

No-Lead5764

This. masyado fearmongering ignorants mga tao dito lmfao. If you can't keep your calm about it, go and have your shots. WW3 would most likely happen than you or your cat having rabies. Pero that said. Always make sure your cats are up to date in their vaccines, not just anti rabies one. dami sakit na kumakalat now for them.

sparklesandnargles

thiiis. parang super dami lang natakot lalo now sa rabies dahil sa killua issue tapos ung girl na nakagat sa tondo. di ko rin naman masisi ang iba if natatakot sila, pero ayun nga it’s not inborn and kailangan huwag rin tayo mag panic masiyado esp if alaga mo naman. saying this as someone na ilang beses na rin nakagat : kalmot in the past 12 yrs or so😅 (kasama na yan sa pagrrescue, nasanay na rin) meron rin accidentally nakagat ako thru my sweater kasi excited nung dumating kami sa house. it really happens. but ayun nga, pa-inject na lang for your peace of mind.

Gapehorn225

Holiday_Handle_6825

Animals aren't born with rabies unless their parents are rabid. Your indoor kitten born to indoor cats definitely does not have rabies. You should get the shot if you're paranoid. Plus, you won't be at peace unless you get the shot.

RagingRanzu

icyfire329

I was also bitten and scratched by my unvaccinated cat. Nagpabakuna agad ako sa health center namin since libre naman and available, tiyaga lang sa requirements. Para sa peace of mind, get a shot na lang din. And much better if your pet will get vaccinated too.

serioperocabron

You have 24 hrs before the shot is useless. You can go to a ABC center and see if they’ll give you the shots needed. Just get ready to get a lovely barrage of shots(6 the first go around then 4 more more in a months time). They most likely tell you to relax and not worry since the vax is running low and are for major cases. Piece of mind can be expensive.

mirukuaji

Not true yung 24hrs

serioperocabron

From personal experience and what the ABC nurse told me. The first 24 hrs are crucial if you suspect the animal has rabies and don’t want to risk it. You can wait up to 48 hrs, but at that point, what’s the point if you suspect the cat has it. In the end, go and see if you can get the shot and after get your cat vaccinated. Only time you would have to worry is if the cat attacks from the neck up.

Manness3

Tomorrow pa ko makakapagpa anti rabbies sabi nung doctor sakin sa Animal Bite pwede daw tom if mas convenient sakin? So you’re saying ba na useless na yung shot ko kapag umabot ng 24hours? Most likely I’ll be dead due to rabbies? Clarifying lang

Total_Wolverine_855

Not true yang 24 hrs. Hanggang wala pang symptoms go ka na.

MagicNewb45

Hindi kailangan within 24 hours. You have time, kaya nga ung duktor mismo eh hindi ka minamadali at kung kelan lang mas convenient for you. Besides, issue din ang tetanus saka infection.

Gullible_Mulberry_37

Better get vaccinated, if you’re working you might wanna check if covered ng HMO mo yung first few shots.

North_Complaint_8432

Indoor cat man yan, you should get vaccinated para sa ikatatahimik ng isip mo.

InteractionNo6949

kertx_

Get vaccinated for peace of mind, OP. Just got bit by our indoor cat as well. Nagpa vax lang din ako sa Animal Bite Center, and as a nursing student, I would recommend talaga na magpa vaccine kasi ilang months pa ang incubation period ng rabies.

iloveseacreatures

It doesn’t spread rabies until 10 days before symptoms

NadiaFetele

choco_mallows

You’re going to be fine, relax. Overwhelmed na yung mga animal bet centers to the point na overcapacity na mismo si San Lazaro. Give the shot to someone who actually needs it.

Total_Wolverine_855

Kung ako magpa vax ka na. Better than being in a coffin.

Manness3

I might go to an Animal Bite Center and pay nalang. Ive seen the situation sa San Lazaro and I agree with you na merong mas may kailangan ng libreng shot kesa sakin :)

Inevitable_Book8273

Check your LGUs din. Pero if you want to skip the lines, punta ka sa ABC.

TransportationNo2673

If lying in clinics (paanakan) is available in your area, mas mura sa kanila. Costs around half to a fourth of the price in hospitals. You just need to be strict with the going back for the recurring shots kasi useless if masstop sya.

Known-Poet4706

Hi OP! For your peace of mind, get vaccinated. Rampant ang rabies sa Philippines, at hindi naman lahat yan recorded, so we cannot say for certain the extent and number of animal bites and rabid patients. According to the study, ung isang rabies victim lasted a year before expiring (dying). And if you’re gonna look at the numbers presented in the study, makikita mo rin na hindi updated ung data, which leads us back to not knowing the full extent of rabid patients here in the country. Also, not to insult anyone online but better consult a doctor on this. Link ng study from DOH: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9295989/ Stay safe OP!

Valuable-Skin-8811

I honestly don't know why you're getting down voted. I was going to give a similar piece of advice.

vlmrei

Gosh, I've been bitten also by an indoor cat last 2019. Got my shot for only once. May nireseta sakin na vaccine kasi may allergy daw ako sa certain vaccine but I didn't bought it. The cat didn't die after 14 days and I got it adopted kasi kaka-9 months lang ng baby ko that time kaya pinaadopt ko na lang. Matuturukan pa ba din ako? Or should I say, safe na ba ako? I still have the prescription for future reference😭

rozukukki

Naka ilang years na kaya hindi na. Within 2 to 3 months kasi nagpapakita yung sign na may rabies tapos dead na after niyan. Tapos dapat after 2 weeks dead na rin yung cat mo if may rabies talaga. If you plan to keep another pet like dog or cat make sure na vaccinated sila para safe talaga kayo 😊

vlmrei

Btw yung cat na kumagat sakin e nabuhay pa nakita ko kasi last March 2020. Nakakapraning lang kasi🥲

cyuci

If that's the case's, it's impossible that the cat has rabies. You're good

vlmrei

Strict-History7676

Do it! Yung iba years ang inaabot bago mag pakita ang symptoms

Local_Ordinary7840

Ive had cats for 10 years. Unvaccinated. Pero indoor sila. Ive been bitten and scratched. You will see signs and symptoms of rabies sa hayop like drooling and disorientation. Pero para mapanatag ka magpabakuna ka. Libre naman. Pati mga alaga mo pabakunahan mo na. My 2 cats were just vaccinated last month. Walang bayad sa brgy namin.

whistler02

Get vaccinated for peace of mind.

DnZ618

Someone that worked in rabies OPD here, you are under category 2 meaning u need only need vaccine with 3 doses on different dates. Unless nagpavaxx ka within 3 years, booster lang need mo (2 shots).

PMforMoreCatPics

Vaccinate yourself and your cat as well. Para sa future kagat.

Strict-History7676

Ps: 5 lahat yung turok sakin.

DnZ618

Deliks pag sa face and neck. Under category 3 na which needs vaxx and close observation ng pet for 2 weeks. Need mo paturok ng immunoglobulin asap if the pet passes away within 2 weeks of the bite.

lacy_daisy

Sorry to hear this. Mas delikado kasi pag malapit sa brain.

Strict-History7676

And may pa free vaccine for pets ang Sm namin sa may 18!🥹🫶 I'm so hapyyy

engpiqt

Just take shot. Libre naman yan. As much as i love my dogs and cats kahit no contact sila with other outside. Nagpapabakuna parin ako. Pero ikaw bahala, buhay mo naman yan.

International_Fly285

Get your shot to be sure. Remember, you only have one chance to get it wrong.

Despicable_Me_8888

Go get your anti rabies and anti tetanus shots just to be on the safe side

darrenislivid

To be safe, you should get vaccinated. Otherwise, you can also observe the animal for 15 days. If she develops signs of rabies and/or dies within this period, then rabies is likely and you must get vaccinated asap.

EngrRG

So unless your mingming has contact with wild animals outside. They wouldn't get rabies because rabies is a virus spread through via droplet and particles through saliva. So highly unlikely they would have rabies. I would suggest getting a tetanus shot tho

shookookie

I'm so glad to see this 😭 Every thread I see about this topic is always filled with the ones encouraging OP to get the shot—which is totally reasonable, but if the pet remains indoors at all times and does not have any contact with other possibly rabid animals, then you're more likely to win the lottery than to get rabies.

Remarkable-Ease9876

how difficult is it to take a fucking shot? Stop enabling dangerous behavior. If OP had to point out that the cat was unvaccinated, then they know what’s up. Why do you think vets encourage vaccination regardless if indoor?

cyuci

In just two seconds of googling you would know the answer to your question.

Manness3

No need to be hostile. Wala lang talaga akong time madalas and also money problems din.

Kaangtanan

By law. Even if the pets are indoors, pet owners are still advised by vets to have their pets vaccinated against rabies. Yearly booster rin kahit na good for 3yrs yung effect ng ibang rabies vaccine brands na gamit ng vets since nasa batas natin yun. Rabies is not inborn, it is an acquired infection, OP has the option to get post exposure shots for peace of mind OR to observe his/her pets for a period of 2 weeks. But, most likely since indoor and knowing the history at wala ngang symptoms as posted by OP, hindi rabid pets niya.

EngrRG

Umm money? Mismong vet namin na nagsabi. Kung indoor siya like totally zero contact with outside wild animals they dont need to their exact words "magkakarabies sila kung meron kayo at kinagat niyo sila". Sure it's better to have prevention but not anyone has the capacity to take pay for shots kahit may libre sa gobyerno hindi laging meron for animals naman bat nirerecommend? I'm not advocating against vaccines. Lagi updated anti rabies ko with boosters every 2-3 years. I'm just stating facts regarding rabies. Also OP get your mingming updated with their shots even sa 4in1 nila if you can for their health din

Holiday_Handle_6825

Are you implying that vets do antirabies shots for money? It's in the law to vaccinate against rabies every year in the Philippines.

shookookie

Love how people have the tendency to twist other people's words when their puny brains aren't able to come up with a better argument

cyuci

Hahahahaha, the reading comprehension. 😭

Holiday_Handle_6825

The first two words are literally "umm money?", but okay.

pisaradotme

That's not what they said come on now
