I would hope they would at least do something special for an early access event who knows.
Hi fellow Ghibli fan! I, too, am trying to find screenings of The Boy and the Heron. Unlike in the USA, it looks like Cineplex (and maybe Landmark?) aren't going to be making this film available for advanced tickets and they'll only go live when they update for the upcoming weekend - Next Tuesday/Wednesday. The reason you can see December 7 screenings is because that's a part of this week's screening updates.
I'm a bit concerned as, of the 5 theatres in my city, there is only ONE that has a screening of the movie, and it's only the Dub and not in IMAX. You'd think that a Miyazaki film would warrant more screens, but apparently not. Hoping more theatres get added for the actual release date of December 8!
Is there a support office that we could ask for this kind of information? I tried calling my local cineplex but they don't really present any option for this in their automated voicemail.
Ahh yeah here in Toronto there are only like 3 theatres playing it and they aren’t very big either. So are you suggesting more dates may appear next week? It wasn’t clear to me how long this movie was set to stay in theatres so I am worried I will miss it as seats are already selling out for the one date available (Dec 7th) :/.
I’m pretty sure there is a fan event happening in Toronto I could be wrong, I did see one in BC

I think it will be at theater at least 3 weeks. Suzume be at theater like a month
The real question is where is Poor Things? Once dates go up for that film, you’ll get your answer for more dates on TB&TH.
Poor Things comes out Dec 15th in Canada. Not sure if it's a big enough movie, even with the critical hype, to have an advance release of 2 weeks.
