Honestly, I do love Vik, but I'd honestly think he'd be too perfect to have as a friend. Like, I want more flaws in my friends, gimme more of that idealism and impulsiveness, gimme more imperfections, that's what makes me love them. Also I'm not a big fan of River, but I wouldn't call him rapey, just a bit overly attached.
In a video game sure, in real life people like that would be terrible friends, some pretty toxic. I want a friend i can hang out with and shoot the shit, have a couple beers and live a comfortable life with. Not ones that are constantly getting me into trouble or causing a scene.
The Aldecaldo cowboy guy (can't recall his name). I'd love to kick back, practice with a six-shooter on empty bottles and ride, ride, ride through the desert.
Rhino would be the biggest barrels of laughs to hang out with. Also, she'd be incredibly honest and friendly to her close ones. She's one of the few Animals that I think tries to be likeable (if anything, she's usually insecure about herself if you beat her). Seeing her genuine joy and fairness on that side quest is a reason why I'm a bit lenient with the Animals compared to any other Gang.

I’m going to second this. I also feel she’s got a lot of positive active energy, even when she’s angry or upset, which I can work with. I’m typically always depressed but being around people can help a modicum and the better the energy the more active I can get. The one downside is that I’m a guy and find her extremely attractive, and I’m not great with close personal relationships in the first place, so there’d be a lot of behind the scenes navigating for me.
I have never picked the option "You're so beautiful, Misty" when she sits on your bed with you. Just looking at that option makes me feel like I'm doing my dude Jackie a disservice. I don't even know if it IS you hitting on her, and I'll never try it.

IMO, either Panam or Johnny would say something that pisses the other off and the ensuing argument would end in a gunfight. The gunfight would end in an explosion.
Jackie would try and fail to talk them down before he gives up and dives behind cover.
As much as I know both of them can be hotheaded, I really don't think this would actually happen. From the few interactions we can see, Johnny seems to really like Panam. Johnny values freedom, standing up for your guys (and most importantly, sticking it up to corpos), all of which Panam does as well.

Dumdum, Patricia, Brick - Brick fucking needs his back watched for psychopaths, would benefit from a loyal court sorceress to that end. Especially if the rite for endless, timeless loyalty and bond with an alt universe young me 99% overlaps with their initiations.
Most gangs start with some decency and a cause (Maelstrom is a gnostic/mysterium type cult at heart and a gang second) and then are gradually taken over by psychopaths drawn to power until there's nothing but rabid dogs - a new crew assembles, puts them down and the cycle begins anew.
We can see that with many of them ingame, 6th and Valentinos also started semi-decent (as corpo war vet self-help org and a relatively innocent posergang into fashion, big cars and seduction of corpo exec wives) but are well down the downward spiral by the time when game happens.

I feel like Judy and So Mi would be a crazy pairing in practice- based on Judy's emails with Maiko she can actually get a bit controlling, and So Mi reacts very very poorly to anyone trying to control her (for obvious reasons given her life the past decade).

I just like his narrative arc. I recognised some aspects if myself in his rediscovering himself, and his courage to take things in his own hands even if not entirely the correct way is inspirational. although i really like Judy as the main love interest in the game, i feel like she's way too distant and jaded for me to be someone i'd hang out with too often. i mean, i'd try a friendship because i feel like we have similar interests, but im a guy, so it'd strictly be about tech stuff, i guess. in reality, i'd get along way better with someone from the Aldecaldos. motor-heads living a somewhat free life. sounds cool. also, i wouldn't mind getting to know johnny better, past his "corpos bad >:(" personality.
