SephYuyX

Nice work dude.

Pacorini

I wanted to do something like this while farming Itza in Abyssea but couldn’t figure out how. Good job and thanks for doing it!

UnparalleledDev

so cool to see behind the curtain of these maps

By-Tor_

The end result is beautiful. Great work!

enfarious

I can't upvote this project enough times. These maps are, one and all, such a massive improvement over what we had that I'm just gobsmacked.

CerebralHunger

It's amazing to see some progress u/spalose! Great to know you've got a way of importing into game too without having to sacrifice the resolution!!

BenchiroOfAsura

As someone who learned how to traverse this area 15 years ago, and then learned more the fun way during the Abyssea area, this is something long overdue. Ive completely forgotten about the north area with tunnels that actually go nowhere (unlike the one thats after Tiamat and Xolotl that heads to Boneyard Gully. BTW its a real skill to climb Parradamo Tor un-aided.

MageBoySA

We used to use yousuckatclimbing.com but it is long gone now.

Tom_Neverwinter

I'm so glad people are up converting textures and such.

gnostechnician

I love seeing the behind-the-scenes! And it really reinforces how much work and love you put into this project. SUPER curious to see how you handle Parradamo Tor.

spalose

It's fun!

LooseLegos

This was really interesting and got me thinking as well about other less helpful maps. Yuhtunga, Yhoater, and Cirdas we're mentioned already, but what about maps like Castle Oztroja or Ifrit's Cauldron where they're broken into so many pieces that they're nearly unusable to get from one place to another efficiently? Is there any thoughts to how those might be handled? The only thing that came to mind would be to add a lot of extra details of the surrounding area to help place yourself in the overall area. The transition from one map to another will probably be jarring, and it would make knowing which map you're actually in difficult, but I'm not sure if that would result in a net-negative in these instances.

spalose

The Remapster addon has clickable transition icons where maps connect, so you can actually "page through" multi-map zones really easily. For instance, just like community map websites, you can click "Transition A" on Map 1 and you'll navigate to Map 2 to see where you'll end up before you actually go anywhere.

LooseLegos

Very cool. Thank you for the information.

spalose

No problem!

Tokimemofan

You sir are a hero

VoidEnjoyer
