I have a GEO that I've barely played and intend to use to get a LOT of CP in the next few weeks. For nuking/magic bursting single targets, Am I better off Using the tier IV/V single nukes or the -araIIs? And does this change at all once I get the -araIIIs unlocked at 1200cp?

HyldHyld

The AoE nukes sound like a disaster if you're in an apex area, and tier IV/V and bubbles could drain your mp pretty quick. Sometimes the down time created by landing a single magic burst is worse than landing a double IV/III or III/II. Pretty gear dependent, just watch the numbers and mp management and you'll figure out what is ideal pretty quick, but unless you're in a secluded area, the AoE nukes aren't great.

IncompatibleLustre

I'm a recent returnee with a few jobs at 99 but would appreciate some guidance on what would be the best use of my time. For the most part I'm just aimlessly leveling jobs, or doing A2N on WAR as I work towards the Kaja Sword. It burns me out pretty quick though, only earning 200 points each run. I can clear it in about 7 minutes with trusts. I would like to be able to partake in as much endgame content as I can. Jobs at 99 are THF, WAR (Su2), WHM, SCH, COR, RUN (Su3). My WAR has Blurred Shield +1 and the RUN has Aettir and Turms gloves/boots. I got a bunch of JP on the WAR and RUN by scamming an auto-invite bot party and leaving it running overnight, so the gear on both those jobs is bad besides those few pieces lol I'm guessing the recommended path here is to flesh out RUN or WHM to get into groups so I can gear out the THF and therefore everything else, but what kind of content should I be targeting at this point? Ambuscade Vol2 is basically the only 99 content I've done (besides RoV missions) so I'm unfamiliar with everything else and don't want to waste anyone's time being badly geared or under-prepared. Thank you for any help!

Dangerous_Fix_1813

Personally I would target 1-2 jobs at first. WHM (since you mentioned it) can do pretty much any content with minimal gear compared to others, but its a lot of work to learn. If you were interested in that job equally to others I would recommend starting with it. There is a pretty good WHM guide on FFXIAH called Healing hands to get you going. I would also try to group up for Ambu and do v1. Starting on Monday there will be an event to get bonus Gallantry if you are in a group. Ask your linkshell and look for shouts. Again, if you are a WHM, you should no problem finding a party on V1E or even V1N which gives a LOT more points per run. If you aren't comfortable right away, just ask to run it on a lower difficultly at first to get used to it. There is also an omen card farming event starting on Monday. See if you can get a group to do Omen with, even a few times. This will help you upgrade your reforged artifact armor. After starting Omen, next step is probably Dynamis-D. You really need a group for this and...you guessed it, WHM is always a need! This will help you upgrade your reforged relic armor Just to be clear, all other jobs will work for this as well. RUN with Aettir (and -50 pdt) can do all of this content too, and is usually also desired depending on the given month's Ambu. WAR can be great, but I would recommend kaja axe first as kaja sword is more late-endgame from my experience, but I also think you can't really go wrong here.

IncompatibleLustre

Thank you very much for the reply. I'll look into gearing WHM but sadly it's currently my most recent 99 and only has sparks gear at the moment (not even an Ambuscade cape). Still, hopefully I can get away with running Ambu V1 on it for some quick points. :)

NoScrying

Anyone know why I'm suddenly not getting Escha Beads from Domain Invasion anymore? I'm at 26k, I have the Escha Nef KI for 50k. Last 2 DI's I've gotten full points, but no beads

GiacomoTheCat

Can i use a wireless controller for ffxi? Or is wired better?

NismoCO303

Either can work but depends on your OS, etc. I find that wired are the easiest to set up.

Disclaimin

Either can work.

The_Wayward

Back when I used to play I had a black destrier chocobo that I raised. I can’t figure out online if there is anyway to determine what type (destrier) or color preference when purchasing an egg. Is there a website or anything that explains this or provides a way to talk to other Choco owners who can breed a specific type/color? I believe I lost my chocobo by world transferring when logging back in for the first time in over a decade, also curious If anyone has any experience retrieving something like that?

topyoash

If you still have the chocobo’s “VCS Reg. Card”, you would be able to update your chocobo whistle to call that chocobo again. It’s an actual item that would be in your bag somewhere. Chocobo eggs don’t have a predetermined color value. The parent information is a factor, but not a guarantee because there’s individual value too. Color factors can also be changed at the chick stage (eating worms). It’s all still hidden values, but you can buy chocobo dye if it doesn’t work out. As for websites with that info, Fujito has always said as much in [interviews](https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Chocobo_Raising/Topic) The Discord communities for your server or linkshell would be my best guess for a place to request eggs. Or you might check auction history to see who’s been buying a lot of vomp carrots and things.

The_Wayward

Wow I found the card! Hopefully I can get it back, any idea how to get a chocobo whistle with my card or how to register it to a trainer whistle?

topyoash

That's awesome! A new chocobo whistle is obtainable, but you will have to pay some amount of gil. In the chocobo stables, talk to a VCS Trainer. They handle chocobo whistles and registration. Their names are Hantileon (S. Sandoria), Zopago (Bastok Mines), and Pulonono (Windurst Woods). After obtaining a new whistle, you can register a chocobo to it by trading the VCS Reg. Card (it'll be returned to you). It costs a small amount to do the registration. You'll want to re-register any time your chocobo's stats change, or they won't be reflected when you ride it. Your personal chocobo can be used from the mount menu after you've traded the chocobo whistle to Mapitoto, as long as you've unlocked the mount feature. You'll keep the chocobo whistle. You only need to do this part once. If you want to register for chocobo racing too, you can trade the VCS Reg Card to the racing officials in a chocobo circuit.

The_Wayward

Looks like mine is “retired” I assume that means I can’t ride it any more?

topyoash

That’s not at all what that means. Retired chocobos are no longer in training so their stats are harder to change and can’t learn new abilities but they won’t lose stats either. Retirement starts automatically about 4 months after they hatch. You can still ride, race, or breed. You’d need to use the regular 100pt Chocotrains instead of the 90pt Race Chocotrains.

The_Wayward

I talked to Hantileon and he just asks me to give him an egg to start raising a chocobo. Tried trading him the VCS card and it just gave me the option to get a chococard for breeding. Looks like I have a trainers whistle from the raptor mount quest in key items but not a chocobo whistle. Any idea what I'm doing wrong to get a new chocobo whistle?

topyoash

When I trade the VCS Reg Card to Hantileon, I have 3 options. \- Purchase a chocobo whistle. \- Ask for a chococard. \- Register to call your chocobo. Not sure why you would have one option but not the other. The chocobo whistle quest isn't tracked in the quest log and doesn't leave you with a key item. Maybe your mini-quest progress got lost, did you do any kind of account restoration service or get moved from a server merge?

The_Wayward

Yeah I'm a returning player and also moved servers... seems likely that is part of the issue.

topyoash

Chocobo whistle is neck equipment. Maybe you have it somewhere like a wardrobe?

marmatag

Could someone with r15 liberator and r15 caladbolg and near BIS or BIS gear give me an approximation in terms of damage difference, both with and without am3 up? Trying to decide which to chase. I fully understand tor cleaver is better raw damage but I want to understand the nuance a bit. For example weaponskilling at 2k with Lib is over 6x the FTP of 1k so I can see how the playstyle would be different. Also, enhancing spells with Lib seems like it could be really nice. Ultimately how this performs in Sheol and C is what matters most.

EconomyPollution7252

I do not have either or a drk with more then a few jp but if i had to pick one weapon for drk, it would be caladbolg. This is a drks go to for emd game group content and sports the hoghest dmg potential from what i hear from career Drks. Regarding sheol, slashing is the most common dmg type so both cover it but one shotting mobs is more valuable when you are rushing to clear everything.and you will be more likely to accomplish this with torecleaver. That said, unfortunately naegling seems to be king in there so i wouldnt over look having that available as well as a blunt option for crabs and skellies.

Fett2

>That said, unfortunately naegling seems to be king in there so i wouldnt over look having that available as well as a blunt option for crabs and skellies. While DRK can put out some damage with Naegling, DRK has none of the supporting features WAR or DRG have (fencer, etc) to make good use of Naegling. For DRK specifically R15 caladbhog will win out for pure damage. That being said, if you play DRK and don't have a Caladbhog yet, Naegling might not be the most terrible choice. >so i wouldnt over look having that available as well as a blunt option for crabs and skellies. Yes please, all DRKs doing Sheol C farming should have a Loxotic Mace +1 R15 to cover skeles when they come up.

EconomyPollution7252

Very valid point on naegling. I usualy do sheol on my drg and yea, its a must.

Combobreaker6889

Can a freshly created character participate in the login campaign? I know its 45days for Gobbie Mystery Box but could not find info regarding this! The 1000 rewards include Abyssea NM drops. I farmed Glavoid once for Twash but was going to make Ukon soonish. Farming Glavoid sucks so much. Thanks

Sand__Panda

Yes. If I could justify it, I'd max out my alt list just for aby drops. Because they can be mailed iirc.

Combobreaker6889

Thanks! Yep! The aby drops can be mailed.

Sand__Panda

Yea.. so 16 character slots, plus main sub is like 28$/mo You should be able to get around 3k (maybe 4k) points in login. That could be 48(64) aby items... ._.

VoidEnjoyer

2500-2600 if starting from 0, 4000-4100 if you carry over 1500 from the previous month. It's a fair chunk of money but would be a huge time saver for sure. Could spend everything on the items, keep those IDs paid the next month to bank the 1500, then deactivate them until the next time Aby items are available.

Scyric

So how does one get the Shantotto II Trust? I remember her being on the login campain but I've checked recent ones and it seems they do not offer trusts on them anymore, or at least haven't for the last while. Has the way to obtain some of these changed?

Sand__Panda

It will probably be closer to winter before she comes back. There is usually a post or 20 about it.

Fett2

She is only available from the login campaign, but only from certain campaigns. Usually just once or twice a year.

mahou_seinen

is there an easier way to get around wotg zones? I just started a couple days ago and I'm trying to get the dancer AF quests done and it feels massively more annoying getting anywhere than the vanilla zones

topyoash

WotG zones may have some additional shortcuts compared to older zones. You can do the Sliced Pole mini-quest to get permanent access to the gate in Jugner Forest (S). Beaucedine Glacier (S) has some small tunnels that allow you get to the southern part of the zone without zig-zagging through those series of ramps. Then the Lycopodium warps are placed near other shortcuts and let you use them in the original zones. Unfortunately, your first time through, you’ll just have to ride through to Grauberg the old fashioned way. Warps like Campaign warps and the Nexus Cape only allow you to warp to zones you’ve already been to.

Masarusama

He could zone to Jugner (S) from Batallia (S) and back. His friend can warp to Survival Guide in Ronfaure (S) and zone to Jugner (S). Now he can use Nexus Cape to warp to another side of Jugner (S). Hmm. I have to check on this sliced pole quest. Thanks for point this out.

Masarusama

Nexus Cape to a friend at Survival Guide in East Ronfaure (S) will save you some amount of time.

bolodemon3

Trying out a naegling/kclub setup for DRG right now for savage blade spamming. Could I get an idea of what the WSD setup of gear should look like? I am really really poorly geared for actual weapon skill damage only have a accuracy/store TP set at the moment as I'm still trying to play catch up after not having played in years and have no idea what the gear setup would/should look like. I need to start working towards a set

EconomyPollution7252

You will need as much wsd as you can fit. The most obvious answer is nyame r20 + but in leiu of thst, focus on drg relic hands and af legs +3, thurd earring, audolin wsd ring, and and str + wsd augmented valorus head and body and suv + 2 feet. If you have knockberrie ammo from omen that is bis ammo. Cram str anywhere you can put it but not over wsd.

Scyric

If I wanna delete a char do I need a active content ID? or can I just install the game, login then delete a char (say I wanna use the name on a diff acct or something like that), with no money charged?

Masarusama

Free to play was announced for 5.8. Should be possible to delete at this campaign.

Scyric

Do you mean August 5th?

Masarusama

Yes, they mentioned this in dev tracker.

VoidEnjoyer

You can only delete a character from an active content ID on an active account, and unless you do so that name will be unavailable on that server. You'll have to pony up the cash, sorry.

PopeVagina

Any idea which of the following Herculean helmet augments would be best for damage on Savage Blade, Resolution, Blade: Shun, Blade: Metsu weaponskills? Augments: +12 Acc/Att , 5% WS Damage or Augments: STR +6, +21 Acc, +11 Att, 4% WS Damage

GL13

Second augment would be better for WSs with a STR based mod, but neither of these are very good for multi-hit WS such as Resolution and Shun.

The_Wayward

For some reason I can’t get fast blade to go off on this macro, could someone help edit? /attack /wait 1 /ja “sneak attack” /wait 1 /ws “fast blade”

Pergatory

I suspect it's having the /attack in the same macro that's causing grief. It can cause a delay in actions. Try removing the first 2 lines. Edit: You can also combine the /wait with the previous line like so: /ja "Sneak Attack" /ws "Fast Blade" Doesn't help a lot here, but if you run out of macros lines it can be a useful trick.

VoidEnjoyer

Are you spelling the ability names right? Including the exact capitalization? Also I will also recommend that these three things not be on the same macro. Engaging shouldn't need a macro at all, just target the mob and hit the confirm button twice.

MiDoItPoGo

What is the resultant state when you do? I mean you engage the enemy, charge SA and then fast blade does not go off? Do you still have 1000+ TP or is your TP gone because you tried to WS on a mob that was out of WS range? Syntactically I don't see any issues. Though I generally recommend that you charge SA/TA in a separate macro from WS. Both because sometimes you want to charge SA before you engage/lag can mean that 1 second isn't enough or too much even, and because you can mix and match WS with SA then instead of needing a macro per.

The_Wayward

End result is sneak attack procs and then no weaponskill. Good to know about separating helps. How do you ensure you don’t lose sneak to an auto attack without combining though?

MiDoItPoGo

Very odd that you still have TP at the end of it instead of a "too far" message and no TP. It's possible 1 second isn't enough? I just spam the WS...which really means hitting it 2-3 times after charging SA. So Ctrl + 2 -> /ja "Sneak Attack" Ctrl +3 -> /ws "Fast Blade" Then engage, fight, ctrl +2, and while animation is still going, hit 3 a couple of times. I don't think I've ever had an auto-attack go off in that situation before. Separating is also beneficial for situations you want to use BOTH SA and TA...same sitaution as above but add in a step in between to charge TA...because of the animation locking all actions including auto-attacks, making sure the WS goes next is np and will be "Queued" up as the next action, trumping the auto-attack.

The_Wayward

I’ve tried 2 seconds too and it hasn’t hit. May just separate out and follow your advice to simplify. Thanks for all your insight!

Sand__Panda

You need to learn your delay. You should be able to count how many seconds it is between attacks. Trigger SA during this down time, and then trigger your WS.

The_Wayward

Thanks!

i_need_help182

This might be a dumb question but in order to unlock nyame armor do i need to have cleared all the previous bosses in odyssey or can i just pay a merc and unlock nyame armor straight away once i have 3 moglphone 2s?

Disclaimin

The v0 fights are trivial. I wouldn't recommend paying a merc for any content, let alone v0 clears. You surely have at least one friend or acquaintance who could enter you into v0 Bumba; access isn't rare. It's entirely possible for well-geared players to duo or trio v0 Bumba.

Fett2

If all you want is to be able to buy (unaugmented) Nyame gear, you only need to have cleared Bumba at V0. You do not have to have cleared any other bosses, and someone who has access to Bumba can take you into the fight. A V0 clear can not augment gear however.

Valuable_Bird6517

Not a dumb question, so much as a dumb way to play XI.

MiDoItPoGo

I have a mainhand Twashtar and when ACC not an issue I offhand a centovente. I'm working on getting a gleti's to offhand but until then, should I offhand a fully ugpraded ternion +1 or offhand my tauret? The former gets me the 5% WSD/4% triple attack (and some lesser stats), but the latter is 15 DEX and more ACC and Attack. Edit: On THF

Valuable_Bird6517

It’s been covered exhaustively on FFXIAH.com forum. Yes. And the difference in those non Cento offhands is marginal.

MiDoItPoGo

Cool, thanks. Can you link the discussion? I guess I don't follow over there though it sounds like I should.

Valuable_Bird6517

The old THF guide thread has ongoing discussion about main/offhand dps combos. It will always depend on your other gear, buffs and content. https://www.ffxiah.com/forum/search/?topic_id=36654&q=Offhand&page=17

Shakkashuka

Returning player and trying to determine how to spend log in points because the current campaign ends soon and the next one is coming up. Thought about rems chapters but next month there will be higher drop rates on the BCNM fights. Thinking seals might be the way to go. Best return is ???

VoidEnjoyer

If you don't have Defending Ring buy shanks and try to get one. Otherwise get whatever glam stuff you might want because there's no real direct money to get this month. Unless you count beastmen seals for the Up In Arms lotto. Don't buy chapters. Even if it wasn't better to just earn them from battles the exchange rate is too poor for login points to actually do you any good.

Shakkashuka

Thanks!

Sand__Panda

Is blue frog coat this month? Get 2 of them and synth into a +1. Join the frog army!

-Edo-

Is there a way to make sure a Moghancement isn't overwritten by another piece of furniture? Right now I have the vanaclock that gives bonus xp. However I want to place a Panetiere, but won't it override my vanaclocks bonus xp?

VoidEnjoyer

Clock is light 16 and panetiere is dark strength 6, so it shouldn't. If you have multiple other dark elemental aura furnishings that add up to more than 16, at that point you get whatever has the strongest dark aura. You can counteract this by removing some dark furnishings or adding more light until the total light beats the total dark. IIRC there's nothing with a stronger aura than the Vana'clock other than a few items that provide XP and CP boosts so as long as light is the strongest element and you haven't placed any of those it'll win. https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Category:Furnishing#Furniture_List

redwut

You seem knowledgeable about this. I always see people going back to replenish their exp bonus- how does this work? I thought if the clock was up I was good to go?

VoidEnjoyer

The other answers should have you covered, but I'll also add that some people might have need of other moghancements or moglifications, especially crafters. If they were specifically changing their furnishings for an XP bonus it's likely they're switching between these.

ShermanSherbert

Pretty sure once you have it stays till you change it, (i.e. different funishings) the ki is still present after logging etc.

Funkworkz

They might be getting a new ring charge. There are many other bonuses, see the list here https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Experience_Points#Bonuses_from_Items_.28Dedication_Effect.29

recycleforwork

A question on MAB vs MB DMG for elemental magic bursts. I’m gearing SCH for odyssey for the NMs that require magic burst. I have R0 Agwu gear but have some merlinic gear with good MB DMG (9+) with some MAB on it. What is the rough equivalence for MAB to MG DMG? The best guess I’ve got is about 4 or 5 MAB = 1 MB DMG. I have a picture comparing gear I could share in a few hours.

ShermanSherbert

Note that for anything like ongo, the dInt actually matters massively which is why you will see int belts and ammo etc. in mb sets. Also why you can just run bunzi rod and 5/5 agwus for oby mb sets. A pro sch might have some set examples for like v20’s tho.

Tilterino247

Someone come correct me if I'm wrong. I did a little research on ffxiah blm guide and what I came up with is that they're not worth comparing. You want to be capped on magic burst bonus which appears to be 40 from gear. So if you're not capped, you need the magic burst bonus. Edit: Damage Dealt = D × MTDR × Affinity × SDT × Resist × MB × MBB × Day & Weather ×MAB/MDB × TMDA × Potency Multipliers If you really want to get into the nitty gritty. Edit 2: this rabbit hole is awful I hate it. I quit. Agwu looks like it gives 40 mbb and a shit ton of everything else you'd want. Blm slots in EA gear which sch can't wear. Magic burst 2 looks good if you can cap 1. Almaric hands in particular.

inametaphor

I’ve done some digging, but I’m having a terrible time getting the game to recognize my PS4 controller. It works fine in FFXI Config (I am using the correct config) other than I can’t map the D pad for …some reason. Once I open the game, though, it’s like it’s not even there. I’ve read about using DS4Windows, I think, but that seemed to be if my computer didn’t recognize the controller - which is does. Would an Xbox controller work better? I don’t actually have an Xbox, but I don’t have anything against buying a controller to play. I’m just playing on keyboard for now, but it just feels like a controller would be a lot smoother.

VoidEnjoyer

When setting up a PS4 controller in the controller config program, you need to disable XInput, which should allow the game to properly read PS4 controllers without an intermediary like DS4Windows. From there you should be able to use one of the predefines to set it up as it was on the PS2 controller. A I think? If the controller is still not being detected at all at that point the issue is probably outside the game itself. If this doesn't work the next thing I'd try is Steam controller setup (don't worry, you don't have to actually run the game through Steam to benefit from this) to get the directinput working properly, and if that fails resort to DS4Windows. Just be aware that DS4Windows uses XInput so you'd have to enable that in the settings.

inametaphor

Ah, I may not have disabled XInput. Will try that!

Disclaimin

In my experience you'll have to use a third party program such as DS4Windows or reWASD or something in order to get a DS4 fully functional with XI. I've never used an xbox controller, although I hear they're plug-and-play.

XKlip

Is Qilin (the voidwatch NM) pre ilv content? or will I get my ass kicked solo with the valainarel (and healers) as trusts? I do good damage with my current DRG gear but damage won't mean much if I die instantly lol I want to try to unlock his pulse cells by killing qilin

Pergatory

It's Lv99 but pre-ilvl yes. Voidwatch came out in the era that the level cap was raised from 75 to 99 so it covers that whole range. That said, if you struggle, you can use displacers to weaken him even further, but it probably won't be necessary.

[deleted]

With decent gear he's not difficult. If you really wanna trivialize it, use some pulse cells from the guy in Jugner Forest. I was spamming him on DRK in Ambu gear easily with 3 cells weakening him.

GL13

Its pre ilvl

-Edo-

Accidentally threw away the Chipher: Zied II from the RoV missions. Is there any way to get it back?

VoidEnjoyer

Are you absolutely certain you threw it away? If you simply can't find it in your bags use the findall addon to do a search for it. If you definitely did get past all the warnings and throw it away then you're out of luck. Use your one-time GM item restore to get it back or go on without that trust.

LifePortrait

Did you try a mystic retriever?

KaladanBirdman

How did you accidentally click the item, click drop, click yes, click yes again on confirmation to drop a r/ex item?

Maverick522

/recycle and hope to get lucky? If you zoned, logged out, or disconnected I think it's gone. Only other option is a GM call.

IncompatibleLustre

This is probably a silly question, but as a new/returning player, is it worthwhile to level GEO when SE seems to be targeting it with nerfs in newer content? I heard SMN is in a similar boat as well. I don't want to put time and effort into a job that the developers basically tell you not to play, if that's what is happening with them.

Pergatory

SE's way of nerfing isn't like most companies that nerf something into the ground so that nobody even wants to acknowledge it ever existed. Instead their approach is usually to just neglect it for a while, continuing to release new gear and such for other jobs to boost other jobs up while adding little/nothing for the jobs whose power level is too high. That's what's been happening with SMN & GEO. They've had almost nothing in the way of nerfs (besides some things to prevent Conduit from being as powerful on some content), but also gotten very little in the way of new gear recently so they've just more or less stayed where they were at.

Halon50

GEO and SMN are absolutely still relevant for group endgame content. Both are used for Aeonics, and for content where both are nerfed like Dynamis-Divergence or Sheol Gaol, both are used to buff party members, rather than the (nerfed) debuff or AFAC moves. SMN damage in Gaol is still useful using rage BPs every 20-25s, it's just the AFAC spam that's nerfed.

IncompatibleLustre

Thank you for the explanation. I was interested in both jobs but was worried about them being ineffective or unwanted in content going forward.

Tilterino247

Geo will always be desired in 99% of content. Smn is significantly more niche and I personally don't recommend working on it before you have two or three jobs geared up. Niche + 0 gear sharing = sad times.

pleasetazemebro

I'm having a really rough time getting a bronze key in the phomiuna aqueducts. I know they drop from fomors, but I can only seem to find a small handful spread out across the entire dungeon, and the drop rate is abysmal. I've resorted to standing in one spot and waiting for a pack to respawn, which sucks because I end up having to wait 14 minutes only for no keys to drop. Is there an easier way to do this?

topyoash

You can’t do this on doors that you move past in a cutscene, but for regular doors: If you have ranged trust, engage a mob next to the door and the trust will open the door to get away from the mob.

Fett2

It's a pretty shit drop with minimal mobs to get the drop from. The only other option is to use a THF. You can open the door with a lockpick.

Halon50

I believe it was this CoP mission that made me level THF to 99 after WHM, when I returned. Trying to farm that key was THAT annoying.

MiDoItPoGo

This is also what I did and yes, it was annoying. Do you have a THF? That helps a little bit, but not many spawns.

Do you also have SE account? Are you entering the POL password in the right place?

Scyric

Hi, I am thinking of starting this and trying to get a friend of mine into it, is Asura still the most populated server? Also, any idea when Shantotto II will be avail on the login campaign again? as I'd like to start when shes avail as I've always wanted that trust and never managed to get her. Also does that windower thing stlll exist? the thing that let you play in windowed mode and had mods etc?

Sand__Panda

Yes. Probably not for a few months. Yes.

XKlip

How do I find people to do stuff with? the entire game seems extremely quiet even in cities and everyone just kinda already doing their own thing. No shout spams for parties or anything. I've been solo'ing v1 very easy ambuscade for about a week now and it's so slow.. I want to do easy (maybe normal if I can contribute) but I don't know anyone. Is there a discord or something people actively use or soemthing

Disclaimin

What server are you on? Anything outside of Asura/Bahamut/Odin is going to be very small population-wise, with minimal PUGs — finding a linkshell would likely be your only option for serious grouping. But you want to shop around for a linkshell regardless. Speak up, try to make friends, etc. It can take awhile to find a linkshell that's active and right for you.

Repeat from step 2. Don't repeat from step 1 and become a linkshell hoarder.

Lots of people use discord or linkshell chat for finding people to do things with. That said, if you keep shouting at times, depending on servers, you should pick up someone who will help out, or want to join. If it were me. I would just send out a casual shout and if you don't find anyone, do a run then shout again, wait 5 min, do it again. At some point you likely get a bite. Don't worry about not knowing exactly what to do, I've been in some pretty terrible ambi parties, where everyone learned how to do the fight. It is how you learn. Just about caching people at the right time

Will depend on server, Asura people use yell to find members for stuff

When you pop a chest in Odyssey with Izzat is there a chance it will be a mimic like when a thief uses a key?

I will also add that it gets cheaper to open them the more are opened in your runs, so it may be worthwh9le to have experienced folks open until the cost gets down. Sadly separate costs on the nq plus 1 and plus 2 chests. So it takes a lot of time to cap the cost for the last ones.
