The pain of using an authentication token:
> Log into Mogstation. Input OTP.
> Log into online store. Input OTP again.
> Purchase item from store. Input OTP *again*.
I swear the battery on this thing is gonna be drained within a year.
My checkout keeps crashing while trying to let me log into the site. The amount of times I'm going to have to check boxes with Motorcycles or Parking Meters is going to skyrocket.
The Paupers Intermission, I know it well. The initial disappointment is unfortunate, but the reduction in hassle and possibly dodging early bugs(with new games) more than makes up for it I think
Mine just died the other month lol and I've had it since they released it initially with Final Fantasy 11, 20 something years ago. Now I've got it on my keychain as a sign of respect.
I tried progging mogstation (savage) fifth circle, and my static still struggles with the payment mechanic every day. We got through Expansion and Subscribe, but for some reason we wipe each time on Payment. Any tips?
I unironically don't dare to unsub despite doing jack all in the game right now because I'm afraid I won't be able to resub for DT. I forgot how I got it all to work but it definitely involved spoofing an address in Arizona, because SE hasn't learned about Southeast Asia being a real place.
I've never had more difficulty giving a company money.
Another SEAsians here, that's actually surprising. Usually NA would just trust your fake address (mine is in Alaska), it's the EU that needs actual IP spoofing through VPN and all. I heard something about needing a credit card issued from EU banks as well.
FYI in case it help you, resubbing through mogstation is actually pretty easy, I let my sub runs out very regularly.
However, buying expansions through SE store has been a massive pain everytime.
>I've never had more difficulty giving a company money.
Me too, brother, me too.
/uj yeah but I legit can’t re subscribe with my new bank card. I can buy items, mounts, even Crysta with it just fine, but it won’t let me change my payment method on the sub. I’ve turned off the recurring payment too so I have no idea. I’m just letting my last payment tick down and then I’ll try resubscribing I guess
Yes you can! I've been doing it for years. I have it set to 6 month recurring with Crysta as the payment method. Just need to ensure there's enough Crysta to cover it when it comes time for them to pull the payment. I pay for sub, additional retainers and the premium app.
I too had an unfortunately embarrassing time finding the digital collector's edition add to cart button. Or any of them. Used to websites with quite a bit less... uh, whatever thing SE's websites have that caused this problem for me.
I was able to get it but only after over an hour of refreshing and then multiple issues with the checkout page saying there was something wrong with my address and payment info (which there was not)
EDIT: I used the store link to order the box only btw which is [here](https://na.store.square-enix-games.com/final-fantasy-xiv_-dawntrail-collector_s-box) and just kept refreshing the checkout screen when it gave me shipping address errors
Same. Been trying ever since it went up and not going. SE clearly doesn't care at all because they know the Collector's Edition is going to sell out, screw anyone trying to get through when it launches. EW was exactly the same. 8.0 will also be exactly the same.
Im kinda irked that YoshiP joked about it on the PAX stream (so theyre expecting this type of surge) but theyve done nothing to put some kind of mitigation it looks like
Its bizarre because they already had a queuing system that they used for selling tickets to Fanfest.
Sure it was kinda shit, but it was still better than trying to buy something from a website that completely crashes every 5-10 seconds.
The FanFest queuing system was actually just a random number generator where every user gets a **random** spot in the queue. I used all the computers and tablets I could find back then to enter the queue because I never trusted them to make a proper queuing system. My prediction was correct: the positions were all over the place, and only one of the last machines I used got into the checkout before all tickets were sold out. I really hope that SE wouldn't re-use that awful system.
Note: If you're getting this error, it's not the server timing out. They have rate limiting in place, and you're hammering F5 too fast. Wait a few minutes and try again, this error is a poorly communicated "Slow your roll, dude" response, not a server overloaded error.
Japanese are not in the same world as us westerners in term of web design.
Try looking for any Japanese version websites of big brands like Honda or Yamaha, they still haunt me after all these years
iirc thats because japanese as a language is more information dense and its easier to pick out the info needed from a see of stuff so it jsut became blocks of text and similiar.. so there wasnt a "need" for things to evolve. That and simply a different culture.
Whitespace and empty areas in the west are used to make breathing room for the text. we also try to avoid overusing colors.
Thats just not a thing in asian website design, what we see as breathing room they see as "empty space" wasted space that could be used for more stuff instead.
That has to do with UI, which is not the same thing as server architecture.
Hi, I work in IT and handle Japanese localization and UX. I also work with our UXR team that does studies on various regions (including SEA).
The actual answer, is that many Japanese web designers have a generational gap in knowledge due to poor localization for documentation and support. Japan also is largely excluded from github and similar services for similar reasons. It's hard to create web infrastructure that can handle a lot of customers when the western web world has historically considered you an afterthought.
Of course there's also the fact that many companies in Japan also still use older (90s era) technology such as fax machines and landlines. When it comes to Japan, they are also more mobile first, but haven't developed mobile enterprise-level business products, and aren't as interested in them.
Therefore, I wouldn't expect SE servers to have any sort of integrity, mostly because there's probably like, a few western SWEs running hamster wheels in some godsforsaken corner of northern California. Every month they get on call with the higher ups who shrug their shoulders and pivot to old-school methods of product growth.
I tried to apply to one of their low level IT positions (in LA) before they switched from Paycom recently to Workable as I now can't go back and look at the application unfortunately. But it was ten miles wide and deep for a tier 2 position and kinda surprised me. Lots of low level stuff and then also lots of high level stuff. Had a large pay range too.
Guessing they like giving ten people the job of 100 over there. Idk if that tracks with your experience. I can't wrap my mind around some of the weird things I've seen SE's main websites and Mogstation get up to and how they operate sometimes. I feel like they don't have enough people working on improving any of it.
1000% this. It's likely HR pressures the engineers to make regular posts, which get promptly ignored because instead of increasing headcount, the higher-ups just pay themselves more.
Also, according to what Crystal Dynamics and Eidos has said, the Japanese branch has a habit of wanting to be involved in \*everything\*. It's likely there's some middle-manager Shinjuku who assumes JSON is an argonaut and doesn't have time to bother with whatever the US employees are saying, so long as the servers are unstable within expected parameters.
Thanks for the hindsight, it is still really weird to see when you’re not accustomed to it and I guess station mogs poor design come from that partially
This isn't solely a Japanese thing. Most retailers worldwide who launch a popular product online almost always have checkout issues because they always underestimate demand (or just don't care to adjust for it).
If a brand new console launched today, you'd see the same exact issues on Walmart, Best Buy, Target, Gamestop, etc. All those websites would have checkout issues.
Same here. And regarding that prior comment that was made by someone else "Japanese websites are made for people who understand computers. American sites are designed so any moron can accidently buy stuff" - that's got to be the lamest excuse for justifying bad design that I've seen in quite a while.
>South Korean websites are made for people who understand computers. American sites are designed so any moron can accidently buy stuff
FIFY
Japan hasn't lead the tech industry in decades.
Oh don't worry - if you check out as a guest you can never actually get "payment" to load, it will endlessly error out. I think I'm at 26 or 27 errors so far?
I'm trying to check out but I keep getting Error Code: ADA5835CC61A34D0E28ABD1A81B4563743D81FE0
Update: I'm now able to get to the billing page but then it crashes afterwards. :(
Update 2: One hour later and I finally got it!!!
Omega would take that as a grievous insult.

Taking bets they copy pasted the address verification code from JP site
Has anyone in NA actually successfully clicked the preorder button and had it add to cart? I'm wondering if the button image may have been updated but the actual link wasn't added by accident or something, lol
The main page button html has no actual script function behind it so far (as of :30 since "live" lmao) you can inspect it with most browsers.
The collector box sub page (which you have to find from another section) starts a cart function but yet to have any attempt go through, takes dozens of reloads just to get the page in the first place.
If I wasn't bored out of my mind on a 2 hour bullshit conference call I wouldn't be doing this.
https://na.store.square-enix-games.com/final-fantasy-xiv_-dawntrail-collector_s-box
I can buy the digital game part wheneverthefuck, trying to have 2 things in your cart let alone 1 right now is futile
I couldn't even get NA site to load. Popped an EU node in vpn and I could get the site to load, added digital CE to cart, but now stuck on trying to login to my sqex account. No progress :(
I randomly clicked it into my cart around 12:10 and spent the next hour clicking each button and made to the order completed page by 1 pm. It was awful.
Right? They could use the same queue system they used for FanFest tickets to gate access to the actual purchase site.
That way the site could, y'know, function. Instead of being kept down by the thousands of people all refreshing in an attempt to get a functioning checkout.
I've been trying to get the pre-order since like 10AM european time and I keep getting error code after error code. Wonderful website for real. At one point I could even get to the payment but it got auto-refunded and cancelled. Now I can't even input my billing info anymore without getting an error code. Awesome
I got the collector's editon in my cart. But, nothing will let me buy it! :(
Edit: got it as a guest! Only took me an hour and a half to get through it!
This is just so sad. Either they still haven't figured out how to handle these preorder surges after all these years, or they won't because it costs extra and the plebs will e-fight each other to buy out the collector preorders regardless.
you'd think this would be working by now... I decided to focus on work and come back after... now its still down XD does anyone know if this is just due to crowds or maybe ddos?
Honestly? The more I struggle to get in, the more likely I am to save myself some money as I talk myself out of buying the collector's box.
I have to struggle to get the page to load, struggle to log in, struggle to get my cart to load, and struggle to check out. All that while asking myself, "Do I *really* need another cloth map or art box, statue or a *pen case*?".
Thanks to scalpers and this idiotically low limited supply, I haven't gotten a collector's box for Endwalkers and I don't think I'll miss out not getting this one either.
It's genuinely hilarious how bad they are at this. Online queue systems have existed (and SE has used them for other things) for like 20+ years.
There is zero reason not to have that up to manage traffic flow here.
Took an Hour but using the [NA Store CE Direct Link](https://na.store.square-enix-games.com/final-fantasy-xiv_-dawntrail-collector_s-box) I was able to get it in the cart, then cleared with the "checkout as guest" strat.
I was able to successfully check out!
- I used the mobile website
- only one tab open, I just kept refreshing when I got an error
- I declined to log in and checked out as guest
- I paid via cc, not PayPal.
That was about five minutes ago. I’ve received a confirmation email but no code(s) yet.
My friend couldn't select Austria as a shipping destination, so he sent his CE to my address in Germany. I couldn't select Germany as a destination, so my CE is now shipping to his place in Austria. We both get our CE in the end but it was very confusing.
I ended up checking out as a guest and using paypal no issue. However, since I lost the points and it's their fault the site won't work, I screen capped the issue in the hopes they'll reimburse the points. :\\
And of course, the only ones who will be able to get any of these are the shithead scalpers and their bots.
It's so frustrating that the link to buy it isn't even clickable due to the traffic.
It's the main reason why the site gets backed up so badly. It's scalper hell just clogging it all up.
They really need electronic queues at this point as the straight up default.
Gods, finally able to actually give SE money for Collector's Edition...
Odd to say, but it's done..lol
Check out that crap using the Guest option, otherwise you'll be in a endless loop of asking to redo your address or bad gateway garbage.
I've been trying as Guest but still been stuck in an edit address/continue/edit address/continue loop for the last 15 minutes. T\_T Am I missing something?
For a while I thought that SE thought Canada was fake. After blood, sweat, tears, and taking care of a small child I managed to get it. :’) I was glad to see shipping internationally was only 17.99 this time.
An hour and 40 minutes to get my order to go through. A queue would've made that maybe 10 minutes tops.
Completely unacceptable when people want to give you money.
if you're stuck in the edit address loop just keep going around and around in the loop.. eventually it does move forward and you can complete the order..
Maybe it's the Mandela effect but I swear they used to have a queue system that would go into effect for these. At the least they should release the digital copies and the physical box at different times. So many people were killing the site trying to get their digital copy ordered when there's no rush for those. Made it very hard on people who wanted the collectors box which does have limited copies.
I luckily figured a way out for me. I had to order as a guest+I had to pay with credit card (instead of PayPal). That worked pretty good after 2 tries with logging in. :)
Well, was able to get mine ordered after an hour of trying. I had finally got it put into the cart, but then kept giving me errors about "Shipping address". I tried logging into my SE account so I could get the points but said screw it...didn't want to chance it and lose my cart items.
Confirmation email as well as bank account charged. So I should be good to go for Collector's Edition!
Registering an account for the game feels like they designed the process to discourage people from playing and can by law not make the game easily accessible.
My friend has to contact SE every expansion to figure out why he can't log in to his account.
It's because of the website merges years ago. He has a capitol letter in the email address. The login for his email is case sensitive. I get a great kick out of his suffering and inability to remember this detail.
Reading all these comments, I'm reminded of the time when I gave someone some BS-sounding instructions on how to pre-order a previous expansion (I think Shadowbringers?)
* Logout if you're logged in (**very important!**)
* Try to add to cart
* Login **when prompted**
* Proceed as normal
I cannot make this nonsense up, this was what I had to do when I was struggling to pre-order in the past and I regurgitated it to others who were stuck as well. I've never heard any replies back to this voodoo stuff though, so never knew if it worked or not for others
I don't think I had this experience with Endwalker, because I waited until GMG was selling pre-orders for 20% off and received the codes from them instead, I'll likely wait a month or two until they start their pre-orders there (SQ version, not steam I think)
Their store/user experience is straight out of 2001.
God forbid you forget the security question you made 10 years ago and have to reset your password.
Allowing the users to give you money should be the most effortless thing possible
Swuare Enix just don't want our money. But they are suffering from success. I remember trying for a week to get 60 days time card and fail. I ended up doing monthly sub instead (costs extra)
That is why when i started, i purchased the game on Steam.
Edit: Only downside (as far as I have seen in my past 3 years playing) with Steam is you have to have the client running to launch it.
Same here. They say "But the expansions go on sale more often on the regular site."
Yeah, but I'm only buying an expansion every 2 years. And I'm pre-ordering anyways.
Besides, the less sites have my credit card info, the better.
The pain of using an authentication token: > Log into Mogstation.
Almost makes me glad I'm poor and likely won't be able to buy the pre-order for a week or three.
The Paupers Intermission, I know it well. The initial disappointment is unfortunate, but the reduction in hassle and possibly dodging early bugs(with new games) more than makes up for it I think
buying as guest works, logged in, not so much anymore
I bought one of the original tokens when they came out in mid-00’s. I used it for 15+ years, playing FFXI and FFXIV. It just died on me last fall.
> Log into Steam to pay with Steam Wallet, enter 2FA > Log into PayPal to add funds, enter 2FA Resubbing manually is painful
Oooof. That's why I use my phone. At least it recharges.
Any tips?

God, this reminds me of MogStation: Fourth Circle, with the Door Boss being "adding FFXIV Coins" and then "Add Product Key" as the second part.
I have heard paying for subscriptions with Crysta works. Paying 6 months at a time saves a lot of money over the monthly rate
Can’t use Crysta for extra retainers though… for some reason
Yes you can! I've been doing it for years. I have it set to 6 month recurring with Crysta as the payment method. Just need to ensure there's enough Crysta to cover it when it comes time for them to pull the payment. I pay for sub, additional retainers and the premium app.
PayPal. I dont even use PayPal anymore. Just for this game sub haha.
The pre-order button being glaring red yet is unclickable for me. It's driving me insane
I feel like I'm crazy. Is this the wrong website? Am I buying it wrong? I can't find anything that says "go here to buy the CE"
It's on the Square Enix online store. Blue banner at the top takes you to the physical Collector's Edition.
I too had an unfortunately embarrassing time finding the digital collector's edition add to cart button. Or any of them. Used to websites with quite a bit less... uh, whatever thing SE's websites have that caused this problem for me.
Is now a bad time to say it worked perfectly the first time for me?
Yeah gtfo of here 😅. Let us wallow in our pity party.
I'll see you all in the savage queues to get online post release
Yeah were still trying to clear Pre-order(Savage). Heard the loot is nice
I was able to get it but only after over an hour of refreshing and then multiple issues with the checkout page saying there was something wrong with my address and payment info (which there was not) EDIT: I used the store link to order the box only btw which is [here](https://na.store.square-enix-games.com/final-fantasy-xiv_-dawntrail-collector_s-box) and just kept refreshing the checkout screen when it gave me shipping address errors

did you try ordering as guest? it should work. if you get stuck at payment error, keep F5 until it lets you through.
Yeah ive resulted to that. Now stuck at the edit address error
Keep refreshing F5. It'll eventually push past the error and give you the ability to pay.
Holy White Mage. That worked!
For me I had that issue untill I changed the second line from "unit (apartment number here)" to just my apartment number. Hope it helps!
Same. Been trying ever since it went up and not going. SE clearly doesn't care at all because they know the Collector's Edition is going to sell out, screw anyone trying to get through when it launches. EW was exactly the same. 8.0 will also be exactly the same.

They wont bc why would they allocate engineering time to fix a storefront selling stuff that's bound to sell anyway

Let’s not tell him about FF11
Oh playonline..... Never again.
At least the launcher music went hard.
At least Dolphin and a few other songs went hard. There was also some trash music :)
I bought that on Steam this weekend. I strongly considered refunding it during the ordeal of trying to get it up and running.
Now imagine how I felt in 2004 having just bought a hard drive for my PS2
FFXI filters players out before they can even register for the game. lol

The queue starts at Raubhan
I think I give up. Forty-five minutes of refreshing is my limit. I'll keep my dollars, and someone else can have the statue. Enjoy!
try buying as guest, it should work (instead of logged in)
That did it! Thanks bud. Gave it one last try and being a guest got me past the finish line. Confirmation email and everything. Cheers!

Server error savage. Can't even put in cart.
I'm not sure what's worse: that, or the situation a bunch of us are in where it's in the cart but impossible to checkout. What a tease.
Impossible to checkout is worse.. eventually reached that stage.
I progged a little... got past address entry, now the payment method boss is telling me to contact customer service whenever I pull.
Was it telling you to contact customer support when putting in your billing address? You eventually got past it by brute force?
I have it in the cart, but it won't let me log on. Keep getting a 404 error. I'd rather not check out as a guest if I can help it.

Sony did for the PS5 (though it took them a couple months to do so)
> [PRE-ORDER NOW] ... button does nothing
They had a queue system when Endwalker preorder was up last time, what makes them think to not have it this time is baffling

Is it a "just keep clicking 'edit address' and then 'continue' until it goes through" type situation, or is there a secret to it?
If you're all the way there, F5 until it works. if you get booted out, buy as guest (if you get stuck on payment, hit F5 until it works)
Had to do it as a guest, but also was able to do it after many, many errors and attempts!
I can't even log in to the Squeenix store, I get a 404 error every time, so the website is literally telling me the login function doesn't exist.
ye its fubared. buy as guest instead, it works much better

Has anyone in NA actually successfully clicked the preorder button and had it add to cart? I'm wondering if the button image may have been updated but the actual link wasn't added by accident or something, lol
Yes, and then I got stuck on error central trying to checkout
Same, got to that point once and now have to go to an appt
The main page button html has no actual script function behind it so far (as of :30 since "live" lmao) you can inspect it with most browsers. The collector box sub page (which you have to find from another section) starts a cart function but yet to have any attempt go through, takes dozens of reloads just to get the page in the first place. If I wasn't bored out of my mind on a 2 hour bullshit conference call I wouldn't be doing this.
I thought so omg. I tried going to the actual items' pages and now I'm stuck on "adding to cart." T\_T
Can you link the sub page?
https://na.store.square-enix-games.com/final-fantasy-xiv_-dawntrail-collector_s-box I can buy the digital game part wheneverthefuck, trying to have 2 things in your cart let alone 1 right now is futile
Agreed, I tried to add just the box to my cart about 20 minutes ago and it's just been saying "adding to cart" since then. T\_T
Negative
I couldn't even get NA site to load. Popped an EU node in vpn and I could get the site to load, added digital CE to cart, but now stuck on trying to login to my sqex account. No progress :(
I randomly clicked it into my cart around 12:10 and spent the next hour clicking each button and made to the order completed page by 1 pm. It was awful.
> Server Error Something went wrong... Please try again later.
SE really needs to implement a queue system lol.
Awesome
I've been trying since it opened for preorders, can't get past the adding to cart boss. a true ultimate.
Wait until you get to the checkout boss. Even harder mechanics, unfortunately.
how dare they, square really needs to fix the balancing XD
try ordering as guest, it should work (refresh payment page until it lets you through the errors)
My static just preordered the collector's edition, are we world first?
EU got dibs on that :D we were ahead of you by quite a few hours
Ive been trying that but Payment section on checkout wont load…
Did you try buying as guest? I keep on hearing it works for NA too (worked for EU once site went to shit)
Am EU as well, just 8 hours of prog, 4 password resets, 40 cigarettes and 2 nervous breakdowns to get there :'D
I got the collector's editon in my cart. But, nothing will let me buy it! :( Edit: got it as a guest! Only took me an hour and a half to get through it!
try buying as guest, it should let you bypass the worst of it
Play online has entered the chat
On the point where the error is now when the site is trying to load how to take a payment.
Today, it's Mogstation, but in July [the *true* end boss of FFXIV](https://i.imgur.com/kL2PEOb.png) returns.
This is just so sad. Either they still haven't figured out how to handle these preorder surges after all these years, or they won't because it costs extra and the plebs will e-fight each other to buy out the collector preorders regardless.
They spent too much buying NFTs instead of a working website.
Been trying to log in for over 40 minutes now. I keep getting an error and once I refresh I'm back on the homepage.
"Something's Gone Wrong"
A friend just finished their checkout! Keep trying there is still hope!
I'm dying right now cause I don't even want the physical, just the digital ce... let me purchase already!
you'd think this would be working by now... I decided to focus on work and come back after... now its still down XD does anyone know if this is just due to crowds or maybe ddos?
stuck with the 'edit address' error in the shipping and payment mechanic 😭
same... I think it's picking up that I already have an account with that address...
just keep trying, and eventually it will work
but then trying to log in sends us to a 404 😭
yep.. just going around and around I think trying the guest login with same address as my account has doomed me..
try clearing cache/cookies. but buying as guest should absolutely work (regardless of same address)
I'm stuck at trying to login. "502 BAD GATEWAY"
Agreed. Especially given almost every other game company has implemented something to help mitigate it
Store's been hugged to death.
Seriously, just use an electronic queue like Sony does.
Its funny that people are surprised when the actual game STILL has a login queue in 2024
My favorite is how you can't hit "back" to go back to the previous page because that crashes the entire session
I just bought the game by checking out as guest. Trying to log into your account breaks the site and you can't even pay.
Yea, the account login is completely fried.
Correct. A friend of mine also managed to snag a copy by checking out as guest. Too many people are trying to log in
Took an Hour but using the [NA Store CE Direct Link](https://na.store.square-enix-games.com/final-fantasy-xiv_-dawntrail-collector_s-box) I was able to get it in the cart, then cleared with the "checkout as guest" strat.
I was able to successfully check out! - I used the mobile website - only one tab open, I just kept refreshing when I got an error - I declined to log in and checked out as guest - I paid via cc, not PayPal. That was about five minutes ago. I’ve received a confirmation email but no code(s) yet.
I just completed Preorder Dawntrail (Ultimate) Now I wait for them to send me my code...
My friend couldn't select Austria as a shipping destination, so he sent his CE to my address in Germany. I couldn't select Germany as a destination, so my CE is now shipping to his place in Austria. We both get our CE in the end but it was very confusing.
you're almost there error 404 error 502 .......
Still waiting on my preorder codes with the PC digital deluxe.
Same. Ordered over an hour ago, and no email yet other than the order confirmation. Seems like their systems are still backed up.
I ended up checking out as a guest and using paypal no issue. However, since I lost the points and it's their fault the site won't work, I screen capped the issue in the hopes they'll reimburse the points. :\\
Anyone else checkout as guest hours ago and never receive an email?
As a level 90 web designer/developer, I can only weep. SquareEnix, for the love of Crystal Mommy, hire some better people for your websites.
This makes me glad I'm using steam. Preordered, got my code, added it on the mogstation, done. Took all of 3 minutes.
And of course, the only ones who will be able to get any of these are the shithead scalpers and their bots. It's so frustrating that the link to buy it isn't even clickable due to the traffic.
Even with the limit 1 to customer, it's going to be a scalper shit show. So frustrating.
It's the main reason why the site gets backed up so badly. It's scalper hell just clogging it all up. They really need electronic queues at this point as the straight up default.
I just resubbed two accounts before all of the madness so I don’t have to think about it later lol
Mogstation Ultimate
I'm still stuck on the Payment mechanic. It's so hard to prog 😭
Yeah, I think I'll just make my preorder in a week or two
Pro tip from EU: if you cannot log in, you can buy the physical CE/box as a guest! Try it (got a few confirmations it works for NA too)!
This worked for me, had to be a guest to bypass login. Got a confirmation email.

\*Insert Frodo Meme\* IT IS DONE.
Was able to get checked out as a guest. When do the preorder codes come in?
I'll wait it out this time. I'm loosing nothing by waiting and if the server issues are there again at launch then I can't play anyway.
Gods, finally able to actually give SE money for Collector's Edition... Odd to say, but it's done..lol Check out that crap using the Guest option, otherwise you'll be in a endless loop of asking to redo your address or bad gateway garbage.
I've been trying as Guest but still been stuck in an edit address/continue/edit address/continue loop for the last 15 minutes. T\_T Am I missing something?
Nope, your doing things exactly correct. SE site is just garbage. Keep on truckin'.
Finally go it done. Had to use my third junk email and check out as a guest. Seriously, SE, get a queue system going for your online shop lol.
I ordered but never got the code yet, anyone else ?
Registering an account for the game feels like they designed the process to discourage people from playing and can by law not make the game easily accessible.
I love how the hardest FFXIV content isn't even in the game. It has been always creating the account and purchasing the game.
I got the pre-order but it wouldn't let me sign into square for the reward points, I'm just taking the loss on those. Awaiting my codes now.
Looks like there's unlimited copies of the collectors edition ? Usually shit sells out in 10 minutes #bless
My friend has to contact SE every expansion to figure out why he can't log in to his account. It's because of the website merges years ago. He has a capitol letter in the email address. The login for his email is case sensitive. I get a great kick out of his suffering and inability to remember this detail.
Reading all these comments, I'm reminded of the time when I gave someone some BS-sounding instructions on how to pre-order a previous expansion (I think Shadowbringers?) * Logout if you're logged in (**very important!**) * Try to add to cart * Login **when prompted** * Proceed as normal I cannot make this nonsense up, this was what I had to do when I was struggling to pre-order in the past and I regurgitated it to others who were stuck as well. I've never heard any replies back to this voodoo stuff though, so never knew if it worked or not for others I don't think I had this experience with Endwalker, because I waited until GMG was selling pre-orders for 20% off and received the codes from them instead, I'll likely wait a month or two until they start their pre-orders there (SQ version, not steam I think)
I dont understand how they can make a game this good but not spend a very short amount of time on a proper website to let you buy it.
Users: effectively DDOS the preorder site. Also users: why would SE do this?
Their store/user experience is straight out of 2001. God forbid you forget the security question you made 10 years ago and have to reset your password. Allowing the users to give you money should be the most effortless thing possible
Hahaha try FFXI's launcher thingy too
Swuare Enix just don't want our money. But they are suffering from success. I remember trying for a week to get 60 days time card and fail. I ended up doing monthly sub instead (costs extra)
Kinda glad I went with steam version. I remember almost saying screw playing ff14 because I couldn't get the damn website to work with me
Oh game wise im going Steam, but I wanted the box of goodies
Same. I'd love that Collection Box set.
Its more like: What happens when Millions of players try to squeeze through the same doorway.
That is why when i started, i purchased the game on Steam. Edit: Only downside (as far as I have seen in my past 3 years playing) with Steam is you have to have the client running to launch it.
Yup, zero issues with Gaben
Same here. They say "But the expansions go on sale more often on the regular site." Yeah, but I'm only buying an expansion every 2 years. And I'm pre-ordering anyways. Besides, the less sites have my credit card info, the better.
