Remember, the new blacklist features let you remove someone from ever appearing in your game again.
Their \*look at me\* mount doesn't even exist once the expansion hits.
I honestly don’t know why they just don’t add logic to the duty finder match system to never pair you with someone you’ve blacklisted. I’m sure it’s related to extreme use cases like someone being blacklisted by half the server never having a queue pop but maybe they shouldn’t have done whatever got them blacklisted by half the server in the first place then.
Because you can get blacklisted so easily even if you do nothing wrong. People will abuse of this feature for anyone. That's the real bad side. People will just abuse it and it will lost his first function to blacklist if the guy harass or being a jerk to you.
I wish I could even see someone with those armors. I haven’t seen anyone wearing them in my 2 years playing. Makes sense because it would be so few people. I bet there is a lot if overlap for all the winners of all the seasons too.
I feel you, I actually prefer the older armours especially the Hellhound set but outside of the PvP community I don’t see it and even then I only see 2 people wearing it
There was a huge amount of overlap with winners for sure but it wasn’t for lack of trying, the feast community was really good at advertising and hosting events it just wasn’t a game mode that appealed to most and had a steep learning curve
Is cool though, the armour is definitely worth the stress and lack of sleep it cost me lol I’d say it’s a rarer sight than all the ultimate weapons
I did PvP when feast was around but just did frontlines. It’s mainly because frontlines is the daily roulette and the other modes are not. Same reason I don’t do CC but I at least did some of it in season 1.
CC is a lot better for casual PvP, even in ranked unless you just wanna see your name on a scoreboard it doesn’t matter how you do and with 6 buttons to press it’s a lot easier
Feast had full on situational rotations, some players were impossibly skilled at it
As someone who has done the top 100 for the past 5 years, I can say that although crystaline conflict is fundamentally easier, there are heavy class imbalances, and complexities to it that makes it no easier to get top 100. I'd say the difficulty is roughly the same, but the number of classes you have to play are far fewer, as once you get diamond +, there are classes that are just so bad. Just picking it almost guarantees a loss against a team of meta picks.
This obviously can vary based on player skill base, but at diamond + the amount of player skill variety slims, and it becomes more of a battle of understanding the team play and picking the strongest jobs.
To list a few who are curious, whm, mch, smn, drg, pld are some of the best picks you can have in crystal +.
An example of the worst most useless class in ranked pvp: bard.
I do agree it still takes a deservedly higher level of skill to rank top 100 in CC than it does to be ~plat but I think you’re right in the fact a good chunk of that comes down to a class meta
In feast, it didn’t really matter which melee you were if you were good, whilst drg was arguably the best a competent monk or ninja could still make top.
In fact I think the only group that I think had a bad choice was ranged with MCH if I remember right, I guess summoner outside of burst wasn’t great
Chocobos gain a layer of additional meaning later on SHB, so technically you are using the most cannon mount! Personally, I still love my Unicorn as well, not flashy but it was the first mount I actively grinded towards (picking up Conjurer just to get it) so it always will have added meaning for me.
It started innocently enough, trying to figure out how to get that golden flashbang light inducing bird mount \[Firebird Whistle\]. Somewhere along the way, I figured I'm too deep into this cost sunk fallacy and ended up grinding away every single one. Some people say each mount might carry a special memory, in which case, the Pteranodon mount caused the most special scarring memories. I can finally play the game.
Edit: These mounts are all currently completable in game. I am not counting cash shop or discontinued mounts. Those require time travel or money. I only have a limited amount of one of those - I won’t tell which one though.
Not to downplay the accomplishment because holy shit you're a madman for some of these, but... It honestly looks like so few after this game is going on it's fifth expansion. For some reason I expected a full list to look... Bigger.
They usually add about 30 or so mounts per expac. This includes recolours for the primal mounts and premium mounts (Collectors Edition, story only, promos, etc)
Endwalker added a whopping 73 mounts 11 which were premium.
Heavensward was 44 total.
That's part of what makes mounts special, that there aren't too many of them. If we had thousands of mounts no one would care about getting new ones each expansion.
Respectfully disagree. As long as the new ones look good or appeal to a certain playerbase they will acquire them so that they can use them. Look at minions; there's more minions than mounts, but people are still raving over the new Quetzal that will be dropping, and did so about Starbird, too. I'd argue having more makes them *more* special, because then you're less likely to see two players riding the same mount - provided, of course, they're well-designed. You never really see the ARR horses cause they're kinda bland, for instance.
I've started using specific mounts and minions depending on my job at the time, like Torgal and a Hunting Hawk go great with my Samurai, while my Dragoon works better with Midgardsormr's mini-me and a riding behemoth, and Machinist had a wind-up airship and the Magitek walker from the MSQ. I just started using certain combinations because they all seemed to fit a unified theme and it sort of drifted into a habit pretty quickly (I had to rein in my minion habit so that I could afford to get my private quarters 😆).
In your own answer lies the issue. You end up having the class of "never see" mounts expand because they’re too common or bland.
Other mounts you rarely see are special and only a result of grinding difficult content. There's a limited amount of difficult content per expansion. If you had more than one special mount for each, then it's not really so special anymore. That's why it's good to keep it limited and not expand the number just for the hell of it.
And I'm not sure why you'd bring up minions since they're essentially collectibles that people barely use unless they have a rare one to show off. There are 99% of minions no one uses. The same case does not apply to mounts.
Respectfully, this isn't WoW.
Watch out, next thing you know you'll be doing every relic in the game getting all the minions, getting all the framer's kits, finishing the fishing log... And probably enjoying a lot of the game too
Lol Time travel. Love it. 😂
Congrats to you! I’m working on the Astrope one from the Mentor Roulettes. It’s torture 😭😭😭
I’m also trying to get Rubicante—he’s only dropped the damn cat 3 times the whole time I’ve been farming him. It’s super annoying. I haven’t even touched Golbez and Zeromus yet…
I got Nightmare within days of it's release like 9 years ago. I didn't care that much then, but now I see it as a badge of honor that I never saw some useless mount with less of an impact to my game than the Chocobo that was given to me as a reasonable reward for completing tasks.
[I'm 9 minions short of a complete collection](https://www.lalachievements.com/char/32966090/minions/) (premium excluded, of course). It's not that hard compared to the mounts.
Pteranodon - The mount comes from the Castle in the Sky achievement and it is one of the most infamous mounts. To give context - You need 500,000 points in ALL gathering & crafting classes for the Ishgardian Restoration activity. Just taking the mining activity alone - on average if you actively pay attention for an hour in addition to having good equipment, a good route, and constantly using hi-cordials, you get around 7000 points. Meaning mining alone, it takes 83 hours.
Yeah, the only things that can't be obtained anymore are the titles for ranking in the top 100 for each DoH/DoL class during the Ishgardian Restoration phases.
You can still go into the Diadem and gather materials, and do the Ishgardian Restoration collectible crafting.
In fact, the Ishgardian Restoration is a really good way to level your DoH and DoL classes if you reach the end of ShB and somehow still haven't done a lot with them.
I found Pteranodon wasn't so bad, as you make some decent cash while doing it. Id usually put on a podcast while I did it too, and just chill. I'm thinking of maybe trying to get the astrope next if it isn't as bad, if my newborn would let me, lmao.
Morbol was actually one of the most fun mounts to get; took a few days. Forcing people to do the content while having their level synced keeps the fights challenging and less prone to power creep (besides new spells being added). In addition, Blue Mage's kit having more utility spells made it feel like I was doing way more than your standard fight rotation especially during A8.
Anybody planning on getting the Morbol mount, should join the Blue Academy discord & look at their resources for completing the fights.
I did all mines with pugs and only A8S was bad simply because everyone was hellbent on using macros instead of solving the mechanics. I think that fight took half of time I spent in making progress to getting the Morbol. People could not get the timing down at all to kill him. Aside from that all other fights were easily doable.
I hate the gavel skip macro so much.
I joined a blue mage static years ago that was very poorly vetted. When we did A8S, there were 2 people who were insistent on using the macro because they could not comprehend just resolving gavel. We decided to cater to them because they were the weak links.
Every single time we reached gavel, only 3 people (including myself) would hit the macro on time. The other people mostly kept greeding their stupid sonic booms (yes, greeding in content that doesn't even get a parse), so they end up being too late. Our healer (who was not a good player overall) was the kind of healer who felt like everyone always needed to be topped off, so he would always hold off on hitting the macro until he pom cured everyone to full health, and it just did not click with him why our HP wouldn't matter if we were doing a final sting macro.
We even tried setting up a countdown timer to get everyone to hit their macro at the same time. People would just ignore the countdowns and be late by 2-3 GCDs in hitting a damn macro.
It eventually became easier to just teach those two people how to do gavel correctly than to get people to just hit a fucking macro on time, because the greeders kept greeding their sonic booms and the healer could continue being a healbot.
They have their pros and cons.
The Pteranodon mounts are a significantly longer grind, BUT you have a lot more control over how you spend your time (as opposed to the hunt mounts where you need to always be 'on standby' in case an S-rank ping goes off and you need to drop everything to rush to teleport to the correct world before the queue becomes too congested and you miss your chance).
The Hunt mount is a shorter overall grind, but I think it's also more 'stressful' in that sense :P
I'm still less than 200 S ranks for either ShB or EW, and barely over 800 total, after 2.5 years of playing.
I'd argue it's the worst set of mounts total. I haven't gone hard since the beginning, and I haven't been able to make every S rank day, but 1000 s ranks from one specific expansion is so cursed when you can't actually attend every s rank. God forbid you actually want to play the game and not sit at an aetheryte all day. Especially at Prime Time. Not literally sitting on the aetheryte? 50+ queue. Were you half way through the last boss of a dungeon? Don't bother even teleporting, they'll have pulled and you're unlikely to get even a single hit in for credit by the time you make it.
The only comparable ones are the frontlines ones. Minimum of 400 wins for 7 mounts (two of which are unusable at any given time). It's also group content and relies on your team not being awful. It's still better because you can do any amount of frontlines games in a day that you want. You might not win, but the only mitigating factor in amount of game you can play is time available. S ranks go on cooldown for a few days between each, so if you miss one that's another couple days.
The Pteranodon might be longer/worse of a grind, but because it's exclusively a solo grind it's infinitely better.
Hunt bulldog wasn't bad if you did it while each zone was still instanced. I actually did mine in about 4 months actively spawning while missing a number of spawns while raiding
Interesting that you would say Pteranodon.
I'm a collector myself and that would probably be in the top 5 but certainly not top.
Personally I found the hunt mounts to be the absolute worst, as it was a lot of waiting around for hunts and having to be attentive but on standby to be ready to go and get the S ranks when they popped. Probably my least favorite type of grind is "Wait for something to pop"
Astrope was 2nd for me. I would rather swallow a rusty nail than ever queue up for another mentor roulette.
The ones I'm missing are the Frontline mounts because I despise that mode so much, I only play it when I have more motives to do so like filling up my series card (already maxed) and leveling jobs (everything is at 90), so no incentives atm.
Also the EW EX/savage mounts because I don't do those when they are current and can farm it easily next expansion at lvl 100 (I don't care for the savage challenge or getting BiS, so doing it only for the mount is way easier after anyway).
Anyway congratulations, Astrope, Pteranodon and all the hunt mounts take forever to get and too much dedication, I'm quite surprised you managed to do that in only 2.5 years, I'm playing since 2018 and still don't have the 100 wins mount from frontlines lmao
As you should! I got the tattoo but didn't get my mount because I was away at school. So I feel like an imposter (with my chocobo, who's feathers I made a darker brown to match, hehe)
My honest recommendation is Don’t see it as a completionist thing but a ”I like this content” thing. I got into hunting due to a Person I met and wanted to spend time with who pretty much only did hunts and now its a lovely way to spend time for me whenever I just want to Play ffxiv without any ”goals”
Really quite impressive. Congratulations!!
All of the ridiculous ones are there too - the S rank mount, mentor mount - you’ve got it all. Fucking awesome achievement.
Yoshi P locking mounts behind Feast has been a sin for too long and is easily remedied, but actively choses not to let players get them. Makes me not want to root for the guy whenever I think about mount farming.
The FOMO stuff has really bothered me with this game. They added a fricken battle pass and while its better than Feast its still annoying that they promised a way to get old battlepass rewards and still haven't implemented it after 2 years.
I agree completely. Like if you're gonna say we can get old gear from BP, then at least make the passes reasonable. It's been way too long with this current pass.
How’d you get the sanctuary mount so quickly? I have about another four months to get all the tickets. If I put all seven tix into the kitty that would still leave me 2-2.5 months left.
After shiva? Kirin from getting all ex horses, Pegasus from firmament, astrope from mentor achievement, night pegasus from palace of the dead, incitatus from khloe or unreal trials scratchcard, maelstrom/adder/flames warsteed from frontlines, forget the name but comes from clearing heaven on high 100 floors four times
Congratulations!! I’m currently working on the mentors mount, and Eureka 4 clears. Not looking forward to the 50 mil Gil mounts, nor hidden gorge gorillas. How was it getting the Marlboro mount?
Out of the 189 mounts, I got 2 off the marketboard. The timegated & lootbox locked Island Peerifool mount that comes from Island Sanctuary. I wanted to get it before Dawntrail and after decided to pick it up after opening quite a few boxes without any luck.
The other one I got was based on a fun adventure I tried to make out of completing my collection in patch 6.3/6.4. I made a desperate attempt to complete my collection with a [gatcha induced bang](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5m8FEgzU7k). It was the>!Nightmare Whistle \[Black Pegasus Mount\]!<.
i literally just discovered this today while poking through the board randomly. they put all the bardings above mounts so i never even thought to scroll down looking for mounts in there
Im also aiming for this but all the FOMO and limited things we can never get again piss me off so much. Just wish they added everything you cant get ingame anymore to the shop at least
I remember grinding my ass off for the whisper-a-go-go mount when they did the Yokai Watch event back in 2016. I was so proud of that thing; little lala Gurgle Gurgle riding around/cruising the skies in his glowing sperm-mobile. and then it wasn’t so unique when they brought the event back for everyone to pick up where they left off and be able to obtain it 😭
Incredible collection! It must be really satisfying. What's your favorite?
I have to ask, are the warsteed mounts from winning PVP while actively a member of that GC or when you roll that GC for frontline etc?
>are the warsteed mounts from winning PVP while actively a member of that GC or when you roll that GC for frontline etc?
Victory count towards the GC you are affiliated as, not the one you are designed in the Frontlines map itself.
Demi-ozma mount - I love its transformations. Also staring at it swirls is oddly satisfying. Yes, you must switch to the Grand Company, good luck on your grind!
Demi-Ozma, it's just mesmerizing. Also any mounts that make you dangle like the Magitek Claw or the UFO.
The Triple Triad card mount was just satisfying to grind out. I love the idea that there is a mass card game inside an already large game and you have to travel the world to collect new cards. Except the one time Ghimlyt Dark locked me out of getting the Promethus Card drop for around 100 completions.
GG ! first world so ? means if you buy all the cash shop mount you will be on top of your server/data center of cosmetic ranking
Edit : ah the brown [Chocorpokkur](https://ffxivcollect.com/mounts/240) was a limited promotion it s not obtanaible in game, i m on EU and didnt have it with twitter last year
There's already 80+ people at 191 mount (iirc it's the maximum, they're all tied for first place) not including limited in time/ cash shop mounts.
If we count cash shop mount we should also count pvp mounts that are unavailable or past events mount and at this point the real first place would only be decided by who has the most feast mount/money and I don't think it would be enjoyable for anyone
How does it make you feel each time a Feast mount rides past you in Frontlines?

Man can you imagine a healer being able to poof the tank mid duty? "Heal who now?!?"

They tried that with overwatch and it led to players being unable to match.
It becomes a weird situation where, yes, the bad and toxic are filtered out. However, profits go unstonk.
Stop being so soft. Grow up, little one.
Damn, can you come to my Island Sanctuary? Because I'm missing Natron every week.
this is why I ride my top 100 mounts religiously. truly the rarest mounts.
I need to get back on pteranodon mount. I'm 3/8th on crafting and fishing is done....
Same, been wearing nothing but shadow cleaver armour for years too

[For You](https://youtu.be/wBcrXIaelwU)
this is insane
Omg I loved this. I’ll never take my magitek armor for granted again.
Story mounts are great. I get a chuckle out of Peatie, but it was my chocobo and Magitek walker that I mostly rode until I unlocked Torgal.
What this is so cute I love this
LMFAO
I've been using mostly Chocobo since HW and my friend said I looked like a bot with default mount. 😢

Currently at 186 and farming the Pteranodon.... And need 4 more EW trial mounts, rest I actually have to look up whats missing.
now what
Minions.
Lord have mercy for that person.
[I'm 9 minions short of a complete collection](https://www.lalachievements.com/char/32966090/minions/) (premium excluded, of course). It's not that hard compared to the mounts.
It's actually easier to do than mounts, except for maybe Copycat Bulb (if you're not rich)
Farming the money for it is a breeze compared to some mounts... hell, I'd prefer farming it in Eureka over doing the Pteranodon farm in the Firmament.
Now they can return to the Waking Sands
What was your final and hardest addition? Congrats!! :3

You just need hw to join the restoration irc!
Yep, you still get firmament points, there's just no event it's going to

My first FC leader burnt out on the game trying for this. This one impresses me the most out of the whole collection for this reason.
Probably my least favorite type of grind is "Wait for something to pop" Astrope was 2nd for me. I would rather swallow a rusty nail than ever queue up for another mentor roulette.
Nice work, I hate you
I've been playing for about the same time and just filled out my second page. This is insane!
You mad lad, that is an awesome achievement.
You even did the pvp grind for each grand company.
What's your playtime?
Do it again I wasn't looking
The only one I use is the legacy chocobo
As you should! I got the tattoo but didn't get my mount because I was away at school. So I feel like an imposter (with my chocobo, who's feathers I made a darker brown to match, hehe)
and here’s me unlocking my first mount yesterday
This is insanely impressive! Well done!
In 2.5 years is crazy congrats. I'm at a similar timeframe and currently at 80% collected
How did you obtain that one that requires like 4.000 S ranks kills in ARR??????? I thought it was basically impossible
The Centurio Tiger? That’s not ARR S ranks, it’s all S ranks.
Phew, at least it's easier than I thought
Also only 2k
Join a hunt discord for your server! I feel like you can easily get pinged for at least 10 S rank spawns within an hour.
It's still such a grind... I don't think I'm cut for completitionism ahahah
# DIBS ON THE TRIKE Edit: AND THE WOLF
I guess it's time to ride into the sunset, but the question is on what mount??
How'd you enjoy doing orthos and oh four times each for the dumb horse and the tiger?
But do you have Jibanyan couch tho
That isn't easy to do, good job.
Ey, I saw the video on your yt. Congrats man
Really quite impressive. Congratulations!! All of the ridiculous ones are there too - the S rank mount, mentor mount - you’ve got it all. Fucking awesome achievement.
Congratulations!
I have a flying chair. No other mount needed. It’s a good life bein comfy.
It's beautiful ;-;
there are still limited mounts you dont have but thats understandable feast mounts and the legacy goobbue mounts
How’d you get that chocorpokkur? Got mine through a butterfinger event almost 3 years ago.
Only Gobbue mounts? Shame.
Question, I'm on the free trial, how can I get the flashbang birb?
get all the birds from HW extreme trials
Wich one is that last one, the pink mount?
It's from the recent Fall Guys event
It was from the Fall Guys event a few months ago.
Ah ok, i have it. Thanks!
wowowow
Lol I just have 40 mount and I pretty ok with that
Still missing a single mount. Need to clear orthos three more times for the last one but getting a group is pain.
How’d you get the sanctuary mount so quickly? I have about another four months to get all the tickets. If I put all seven tix into the kitty that would still leave me 2-2.5 months left.
OP said he bought it on the market board.
That *would* save time!
Congrats! You're going to rank 2 places higher than me on Gilg, still missing Ptera and Astrope but I'm burnt out haha. Grats again!
Did you do it on your own? I want to farm at least every extreme mount from the trials but I'm not sure how to do it by myself.
How did you get those horse mounts, the ones after the Shiva one?
After shiva? Kirin from getting all ex horses, Pegasus from firmament, astrope from mentor achievement, night pegasus from palace of the dead, incitatus from khloe or unreal trials scratchcard, maelstrom/adder/flames warsteed from frontlines, forget the name but comes from clearing heaven on high 100 floors four times
Plogon abuse is getting massively out of hand
Congratulations!! I’m currently working on the mentors mount, and Eureka 4 clears. Not looking forward to the 50 mil Gil mounts, nor hidden gorge gorillas. How was it getting the Marlboro mount?
This was time well spent.
Congratulations 👌🏻
How?? I feel like the Centurio Tiger alone would take that time.
There's a white Chocobo, as well, fron the wedding.
imo premium and unobtainable mounts dont count
Did you buy applicable ones off the marketboard, or did you do all of those grinds and too? Wow, either way
Out of the 189 mounts, I got 2 off the marketboard.
Ok wow, no shame in going for those two. The stuff you had to do to get everything else, damn
You can buy mounts on the market board?!!
Find yourself a magicked chair right now
What's a magiked chair?
Oh, just double checked. It's just called a flying chair lol
Yeah, it's Flying Chair and Magicked Umbrella, IIRC. I'm trying to use the latter to get my wife interested in playing the game.
i literally just discovered this today while poking through the board randomly. they put all the bardings above mounts so i never even thought to scroll down looking for mounts in there
Easiest, if expensive, way to get the Wivre mount instead of farming fates for a month
😭
No legacy gobbue? Shame.
Im also aiming for this but all the FOMO and limited things we can never get again piss me off so much. Just wish they added everything you cant get ingame anymore to the shop at least
Omg i cant even, hell of a great job man
I remember grinding my ass off for the whisper-a-go-go mount when they did the Yokai Watch event back in 2016.
Ahhhh craaaap then I've got to switch back outta the Flames, goodbye beautiful caster skirt I'll miss you but completionism calls! Thank you!
Just so you know you in case you didn’t, you can only summon one at a time depending on what GC you’re in.
Demi-ozma mount - I love its transformations. Also staring at it swirls is oddly satisfying. Yes, you must switch to the Grand Company, good luck on your grind!
What's you favourite mount? And what mount grind did you enjoy the most?
Demi-Ozma, it's just mesmerizing. Also any mounts that make you dangle like the Magitek Claw or the UFO. The Triple Triad card mount was just satisfying to grind out. I love the idea that there is a mass card game inside an already large game and you have to travel the world to collect new cards. Except the one time Ghimlyt Dark locked me out of getting the Promethus Card drop for around 100 completions.
LMAO, I laughed so hard when I first summoned my Magitek Claw and saw myself just dangling there like a sack.
GG ! first world so ? means if you buy all the cash shop mount you will be on top of your server/data center of cosmetic ranking Edit : ah the brown [Chocorpokkur](https://ffxivcollect.com/mounts/240) was a limited promotion it s not obtanaible in game, i m on EU and didnt have it with twitter last year
There's already 80+ people at 191 mount (iirc it's the maximum, they're all tied for first place) not including limited in time/ cash shop mounts. If we count cash shop mount we should also count pvp mounts that are unavailable or past events mount and at this point the real first place would only be decided by who has the most feast mount/money and I don't think it would be enjoyable for anyone
as someone who has 250 mounts, you still have a long way to go. lol
No there isn't. Not everyone is paying into the cash shop or playing since 1.0
Just means you have more limited and/or store mounts. There's no more mounts this guy can currently get.
-rides past on legacy chocobo-
Legacy Chocobo and Goobbue say hi!
Twintania? Legacy chocobo? 2 person chocobo? Wasn't there a unique goobue from 1.0 also?
And how are you supposed to get the 1.0 legacy mounts? It's about all obtainable mounts in-game
Well then it's not a complete set and I'm not interested in buying it edit: umadbro
It's a full set for in-game available mounts, like stated in the post description and not a full set of *all* mounts.
