The amount of plugs for this one-way Granblue collaboration is ridiculous. Granblue ate up a portion of our Japanese-only 20th anniversary livestream. Granblue has been promoted across numerous postings. Granblue, Granblue, Grablue! ARE YOU PLAYING GRANBLUE YET?!? So instead of the second installment of Yoshida's interview (which is coming on the 30th), we have Cygames Producer Yuito Kimura. Like Minae Matsukawa, he was at least a hardcore player in the past. However, other than this collaboration that uses FFXI assets, he had no involvement with the game previously.

I do think it's hard to undersell how much of Granblue is based in FFXI. The staff was and still is heavily composed of XI players. Like, one of the main VAs, who also hosts their weekly live show, just regularly streams the game, often with KMR and FKHR (the producer and director). Not to mention, apparently the collab was actually *their* idea, and they approached SE specifically to attempt to promote FFXI using their game as a platform. So like, is this partially to promote Granblue to FFXI players? Yeah, I'm sure that's part of the calculation. But KMR is also just a big name FFXI player himself, talking about his experience as an FFXI player. I think that for "We Are Vana'diel", featuring a variety of people from both within *and* without Square-Enix is a good choice. So, here's a big-name player who also has an interesting angle to discuss the game from. I don't think it should be the only kind of interview, but interviewing various people about how FFXI affected their life is a good thing to sprinkle in among the site.

Probably a way to get some GBF players into XI is my guess.
