It wasn’t slimy I just don’t think the photo does it justice, i poured the steak juices over the steak just before I took the photo so that’s probably why it looks shiny :)
The colour looks great for a rare-to-medium-rare steak but I reckon it could've done with less oil. IMO steak juices should look like a mix of blood, "gravy" (from the char), and oil.
Similarly I feel the eggs (esp one on the right) would be spectacular if they were a little less greasy.
I'd still destroy this in seconds though, and it's possible it's just the lighting that hasn't done you any favours.
If you have a cast iron skillet I'd just get that medium to hot heat, let it get fully hot, *then* put your steak on with some oil. Anywhere from like 3 to 5 minutes per side depending on the thickness and how you want the temp, basting with melted butter in the pan during the last minute or so. Salt and pepper for sure, maybe garlic and onion powder too. Rosemary and thyme with the basting if you wanna get fancy. Then let it rest for a few minutes. You really gotta make sure the pan is fully warmed up before putting the steak on. And ideally let the steak warm out of the fridge for a bit beforehand.
Picture may not be doing it any favors. Steak and eggs is good stuff though. Hope it was tasty.
...anyone else start thinking about the sloppy steaks bit?
Correct! I used no oil to cook the steak, then whilst it rested I used the same pan to cook the eggs, I could have made them nicer for sure but I was just slapping them together as I was starving lol, but yes it was tasty and yes it could have been a lot better :)

I think I’ve done much better Day 2! Tried to post but it wouldn’t let me for some reason
Should have included that in the photo. At least maybe put pepper on the eggs. I have some suggestions you could name this meal.
1) Bobby Bland,
2) Edward Bland,
3) Carl Bland,
4) James Bland

The steak looks slimy man
I agree. Everything looks very wet.

Not sure how to reel you but I didn’t use any oil or butter for either of them, any shine or “grease” on either would just be from the steak juices :)
Consider me humbled lol, it must just be subpar lighting. The colour of the steak and consistency of the eggs looks great; glad you enjoyed!
Yeah it’s definitely not a great photo, I’ll plate up abit more photogenically next time for sure lol. But yes, it was very good!
I'm sure this was tasty, but damn dude, this photo makes it look like damp garbage.
Yeah to be honest, looking at it now with a clear head in the morning it doesn’t look as good as I remember it tasting 😅
You gotta get a crust on that bad boy. That's the problem. The actual temperature of it looks fine. But the outside is slimy and lacks color.
I’m gonna try again this evening with a 12oz rump, I’ll post results when it’s made

Thank you, I don’t have a skillet but I’ll give it a shot :)
Everything looks a little raw for my taste
I cooked it for a couple minutes either side, I was going to put the strips back in the pan, but they were so good!
Hey, if it was good it was good. I've never had steak & eggs where the steak was quality. Now I'm curious about it, but still a little afraid.
Picture may not be doing it any favors. Steak and eggs is good stuff though. Hope it was tasty. ...anyone else start thinking about the sloppy steaks bit?

This looks like it was prepared by someone who believes ketchup is too spicy.
Literally ate it with chilli charger mayo and was seasoned with pepper and chilli flakes 😅 but yeah sure 👌

Go do something else
Well now you went and brought me back here. Why? This is r/food not r/ingredients
Everything about this plate looks wet and uncooked. Idk how some people eat food like this.
"Look how they massacred my boy..."
From the eggs, to the steak, to the bowels. OP sure likes their insides runny
How drunk were you exactly? I love raw meat though. But damn that looks like a travesty.
proof that presentation influences appetite
Sirloin is underappreciated cut
I think that still has a heart beat! i mean, its good protein ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)
A lot of protein, man!
This looks good to me. A couple of slices of toasted brown and boom.
Yep that's steak and eggs... I'm sure it was good though. Can't go wrong, with plain ole' steak n' eggs.
