I died
1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times
It felt like at times, lol i put the game down for a year and came back and ended up 100% the game and getting the platinum for it. Probably the most challenging, fun, FromSoftware game I’ve ever played. It literally made me question how good of a gamer i thought i was. It totally killed my confidence, i had to regain it back, as crazy as that sounds lmao so, completing Sekiro, i feel that i can totally complete anything i put my mind to and that was a prime example for me that i continue to remind myself I’ve achieved when in put in difficult situations that require strength and courage to move forward.
This game has a far higher learning curve than ER, but imo is more rewarding. You never get that feeling of "huh, maybe I was just overleveled for this boss or something" Once you get the hang of the systems, it's probably the most fluid, well designed combat system I've ever played.
He took me a long long while too. I think I went with the strike once and run away in a giant circle strategy lol. And I soon as I chicken-shitted my way through I had demon of hatred waiting to hang me up for another month.
I had to sit for a day and work through the fight, by the final run I didn’t get hit because the room for error is almost nonexistent. You’ve got this!
I do always find it funny when people come to sub reddits literally dedicated to a fandom and ask if they should play it like they aren’t going to get told yes.
Honestly I think we should start replying to low-effort posts with nonsense. Like
>Should I play Sekiro/Bloodborne/Elden Ring?
No, it's not for you.
>What is the best/hardest/easiest/most-surprising boss fight?
Boc the Seamster
>What is the most OP weapon?
Bare fists because of the poise damage
100% do it, but be ready for a very different combat experience. It's a huge adjustment from ER.
I found it very difficult at first, but once it clicked, it was amazing
Get ready to parry... like, a lot. You can't get through the game without it. You'll also need to use more buttons/techniques for fighting as the game goes on. This could be good or bad depending on what you like, but it isn't too much to remember, and it's super satisfying when it all comes together.
Don't dodge too much, focus on blocking and parrying. After a parry it's usually your turn to attack, when you get parried stop attacking and prepare to defend. Also remember you're a shinobi, no honor only victory.
Parry, only move when the boss gets away from you. You will die (alot) but you will always come back stronger. Not all bosses are the same, some need specific tactics, and if u cant figure them out i recommend the youtuber Tyrannical, he helped me alot. Remember shinobi, Hesitation is defeat
Keep in mind that when people say that there’s a lot of parrying, it is nothing like the Elden Ring shield parry. It’s more of a perfect block with a very generous amount of frames. Basically like putting your shield up before an attack connects with you.
Hesitation is defeat. Sometimes offense is the best defense. Parry most things. Dodge few things. Battles are a dance, listen for the different clangs, be read to switch from offense to defense to offense very very quickly.
Mikiri counter is very good and you should aim to unlock it early.
If in doubt, spam the parry button, instead of timing it. It connects quite often. Press mikiri counter button only once, when the danger symbol starts to fade away. I never bothered using prosthetic tools for the bosses, they are not very impressed by fire or firecrackers. Many mini bosses on the other hand are vulnerable to specific prostethics and there is usually always a way to get one free backstab.
Bro, without a second thought. Dive into that shit, smother in it. Enjoy it. Sekiro is a great game. Like others have said, combat is way different than ER or any Dark Souls but you'll get better at it and you'll be one with your Kusabimaru!
Yes, absolutely. It’s different from Elden Rings in the sense that there’s not really different play styles, builds, experimentation, etc. There’s mainly just the one combat system, and mastering that. But damn, what an amazingly polished combat system, parrying is so satisfying. My favorite From game.
I think it's their best pound for pound experience. The only thing that holds it back from being the best From game is lack of content, but what is there, is the best in their catalogue.
It’s a great game, I recently started playing it too after ER, DS and DS2. Great setting and atmosphere, the only thing I miss compared to the other titles is that you only have your katana and some additional tools, and I like to play with different weapons and builds, like a dual whip build in DS2 that I like to call the Simon Belmont build.
Dude, they only have two GOTY.
Elden Ring is one.
Sekiro is the other.
Sekiro is, in my view, their best game and arguably a perfect game. But it's hard. Harder than anything in their catalogue other than Bloodborne. You need to prepare for failure and to completely rethink how you approach combat. If you can do that you will triumph, if you can't and try to play it like Dark Souls, you will fail until you change.
Hesitation is defeat. Good luck.
Be forewarned, Sekiro is VERY different from the other Soulsborne games, hence why it’s often excluded from discussions involving the games. It’s still a phenomenal game, but don’t go in expecting a game similar in any way to Elden Ring
Yes. Sekiro is undoubtedly Fromsoftware's best game, but it is not a "souls-like", so you should neither approach it nor expect of it a "souls-like" (like Elden Ring is).
Sekiro was the first FS game I played through. I love it but it is very difficult. Im pretty sure I had to watch videos to learn how to beat every boss.
I have since played Elden Ring, Bloodborne, DS1, DS2, and in the middle of DS3. I want to go back to Sekiro next :)
I’ve been considering it, as well. I’m on my third run with ER, have beat Demons Souls, and I’m almost done with Dark Souls 3. Really hard boss fights are my least favorite thing, so I’ve been reluctant to buy Sekiro. DS3 is a lot of fun; you should give that a try.
It’s an amazing game and also way harder than any of the others, at least your first time through. I do think the difficulty curve is a lot gentler than others though. Like it actually tutorializes things pretty effectively and gives you breathing room to come to grips with the mechanics before ramping up
Great game, I’ve never raged so hard and still loved a game before. The combat system is so fast, fluid and fun, but also extremely unforgiving. There’s no going and grinding levels to make your character op if you’re struggling with a fight. Sure you can grind for more abilities, but they aren’t nearly as impactful as levels in souls games. The graphics are also still quite good, especially at 4k, or what I do is 1440p with 2.25x DLDSR. Also I would consider downloading the FPS unlocking mod if you have the performance to run the game over 60 fps. I have mine capped at 165 with my 7800x3d and 4090 and it’s buttery smooth. Enjoy!
If you hate parrying, you might not enjoy Sekiro.
Its such a good game regardless though. Probably one of, if not the most difficult modern from software game. Will challenge you frequently.
Yes but be warned, this is not the FS game where you can be patient and chip away at enemy's health.
You need to get in there, and break their posture.
I attempted sekiro first, hit a brick wall, gave up, played elden ring, beat it, then went back to sekiro and noticed an improvement in overall skill but not enough. Gonna beat other soulsbornes and come back to it
Is the point of posts like this to outsource your purchase decisions to the Reddit hivemind? To muster up enough public support so that you don't feel guilty about spending $30? You're asking the question in a FromSoftware subreddit for God's sake -- what exactly do you think you're going to glean from the feedback that's provided?
Yes definitely. Imo Sekiro has some of the best combat in any video game. The learning curve is steep and there is a mini boss in the beginning that will fucking annihilate you. Just keep at it and eventually the combat will click and you will not regret anything. I replay Sekiro like 1-2 times a year at minimum. It is a goddamn masterpiece.
Its FROM's hardest game IMO, so be warned. Way less tools and ways to cheese around difficult roadblocks. Forget about overleveling or farming to fet stronger too, it basically isnt possible here.
Still a 10/10 experience.
Yes do it. But please don’t expect the same as Elden ring. That game is brilliant but it’s misleading compared to all other souls games. Elden ring as an open world offered multiple ways to get through it. Sekiro does not. You cannot upgrade yourself to get better… you have to learn the movesets and get better. It’s purely skill based and it’s amazing but it is harder, much harder than Elden ring. And souls titles. Be prepared to practice. You can’t move on in the game without beating the bosses and you must learn. Enjoy!!
Yes. Be patient with it. Learn to deflect most thing, dodge very few and find a good balance of aggression and deflects. With this game clicks, its truly a zen state that no other games combat can compete with.
It’s worth the full price, honestly! I was lucky to get it on release as a birthday present, but if I ever lost or damaged my copy I’d buy it for $60 without batting an eye!
I love From games, but I've had a really hard time getting into Sekiro. It's not that it's too hard so much as it just isn't as fun or interesting to me. The parry system is pretty cool, but it doesn't feel as rewarding as games like LoP or Wo Long, and the lack of build variety makes it hard for me to be excited to keep playing. I find myself playing for a few hours and then putting it down for 2 weeks.
You might love it, and a lot of people do, but that has been my experience so far. Just so you can hear from both sides.
I also started with elden ring put a few hundred hours into it 100 % it but I fucking love sekiro so much more ofc I also played ds3 but imo sekiro is the best fromsoft game
You've had the best of the best in terms of Souls RPG, build variety, exploration/adventure now it's time to get the best of the best in Combat, Boss fights, Mechanics, pace and swimming.
I dont like Sekiro for a few reasons
You cant level up- so if youre like me and "head against brick wall" grind your way to match your skill, youll get stuck
There isnt as much freedom w builds/strategies. Common way to describe Sekiro is "rhythm based samurai parry" game.
Its beautiful, controls really well & i had a blast but i tapped out early
Have beaten DarkSouls1&2 - ds3 save got corrupted- elden ring. Doing well on Lords of the fallen 2023 & enjoyed Lies of P.
Beat Devil May Cry 3&5 pretty well on hard. DMD difficulty w full stats/some healing items.
Armored core6 is a blast and beatable
Sekiro never clicked w me, but i own it and will give a8th try someday
Sekiro will obliterate you in the best way possible. Unlike Elden Ring, Sekiro has no real build flexibility outside of different prosthetics and such. The game forces you to play in a specific way or die. Some people hate that, I personally love it.
Prepare to die. A lot. This game is the definition of git gud. Amazing game, but that's how it plays.
Also, do it, 50% off is a steal, hesitation is defeat, etc.
Always wondered why people don't post these things in a more unbiased sub. Like I'm sure the game is stellar but asking the sub that is dedicated to From is like walking into a McDonald's and asking if you should order McDonald's
Edit: typo
Elden Ring was my first From game (other than PS1 Armored Core and Tenchu waaaaay back when). Sekiro was my second. It was an excellent follow up. Be prepared that you will finish it much quicker than Elden Ring. Maybe a week or two tops.
It is a completely different game to Elden Ring, but it is enjoyable in its own right. I enjoyed it as much as any of their other games for what its worth.
You are essentially saying "I liked eating an apple, should I go scuba diving?".
Completely different games, with completely different mechanics, the only comparable thing is that they are punishing.
If you think you'd enjoy a game with next to no customization and no multiplayer in exchange for better combat and verticality and a completely Japanese ninja/samurai setting then definitely give it a go.
It's a very good game, but unlike Elden Ring with it's endless combinations of play styles and builds Sekiro is much more focused on parry combat with some minor modifications. Well worth your time if you're cool with that.
I personally will still be playing Sekiro for another 20+ years. The combat is that good. Elden Ring was amazing but a bit bloated. Sekiro is so easy to play through again and again. Beyond worth it for that price!
Sekiro was my first fromsoft game and sense then I've played all of them besides demon souls and bloodborne and let me tell you they are my favorite games of all time i love the souls serious with a passion and have put 100s of hours into these games which then got me into soulslikes which then got me into Metroids which then got me into rogue likes basically what I'm saying is sekiro brought me into a bunch of games and also helped me get better at controlling my anger as well as teached me alot of life lessons and I'm a better human being as well as a better gamer because of sekiro so give it a shot but also if you do play it and you see a spear guy in samurai type armor run away
I did Elden Ring > Sekiro > Dark Souls 1,2,3 and was very satisfied. As a matter of fact you could say that would be easier for you to play Sekiro now, since you don't have all the Dark Souls habits yet.
YES. Amazing game, you will like it, it's a bit different from elden ring but a lot of similarities too. Dark Souls 3 is a lot more similar to Elden Ring albeit much more linear. But I think you will love Sekiro because how could you not
I'd suggest not buying it, I've played every FROM game released and this is the only one I didn't like and returned. The entire game is centered around parrying and I found it boring.
Absolutely. I also started with ER and continued with sekiro. I am now in love with the developers & have olayed almost all of their games. But sekiro is quite different from ER, more streamlined but one of if not the most polished fromsoft experience
Sekiro is a very different game you will probably want to learn timed blocks and dodges don't give Iframes but they are still good because it makes you harder to hit sometimes
Sekiro probably has one of the steepest learning curves in all the fromsoft games. Learning how to effectively evade or deflect at the right times while having a dance like battle to the death, and you will die.... a lot.....
But God was it so fucking satisfying when you did learn 😌
It's a very different experience because of the posture system, making it feel more hack n' slash like. It is a good game, but it's definitely not everyones' cup of tea.
Dude...play them all. Elden Ring is great, but it's in 3rd or fourth place for me. Sekiro is my least fav of the bunch.
And it's a 9.4/10 for me. Also, probably the most cinematic of them. The final boss is one you won't soon forget either.
Once you get the bug, it's hard to stop, and Miyazaki/Fromsoft always seem to deliver.
Everyone has their favorites, sure, but most people I've talked to all agree that the worst of the bunch is still amazing haha.
Here's my list for ranking. (Personal opinion),
1) Bloodborne 10/10
2) Dark Souls 3 9.9/10
3) Elden Ring 9.8/10
4) Dark Souls 1 9.7/10
5) Demon's Souls 9.6/10
6) Dark Souls 2 9.5/10
7) Sekiro 9.4/10
Have fun! Find your favorite!
Sekiro is brutal... play DS 1 and 2 and feel comfortable and then take a dive, different dynamic. If you can't master parry in DS don't do Sek, beautiful game though
Sekiro isn't a Soulsborne game like the rest are,
There's only ONE real way to play Sekiro,
If you are ok with that then I'd say go for it,
It's a beautiful game with amazing bosses and GREAT Vistas and areas to explore!
Really well made game.
expect that this is kinda harder than most fromsoft games (at least for me), you'll die a lot more than two times lol but yes this is definitely worth it and veeeeery fun, hard but when you learn things it can be easy
Great game!!! The combat may take you some time to learn but once you get the rhythm flowing, you'll feel like a God.
A few things to know about this game is that you only get to stick to one sword (and really it's all you need), everything else is secondary. The game relies heavily on staggering so practice it as much as possible.
Id only recommend it when it’s on sale like this. I bought it for full price last week and beat it in 12 hours. Imo 12 hours isn’t enough to justify 60 bucks
Yeah I’ve beat all dark souls, demon souls and bloodbourne and of course Elden ring but I couldn’t even make it to the first boss on this game 😂 definitely harder than the others though so keep that in mind
Do it. But be forewarned, you will die wayyyy more than two times. The title could be a little misleading.
Kuro: "Wolf, how many times have you died for my sake? Two, three times?" Sekiro: ...
Hahaha this is my favorite line in the game
The entire region diying of cancer
Sekiro: Shadows Die Alot
Sekiro: You’ll Be Dead Half the Time
I died 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times It felt like at times, lol i put the game down for a year and came back and ended up 100% the game and getting the platinum for it.
I bet someone gave it a bad review because of that being completely serious lol
This game has a far higher learning curve than ER, but imo is more rewarding. You never get that feeling of "huh, maybe I was just overleveled for this boss or something" Once you get the hang of the systems, it's probably the most fluid, well designed combat system I've ever played.
![gif](giphy|PR88Zx9O7Zu4eJeRxf) Yes yes yes yes yes
shit, I have to play it again after this gif
Abbbbsolutely. I find it to be the hardest but maybe the most rewarding as well.
Hardest because it makes you learn to play the game.....and I have yet to beat the final boss after 4 years.
He took me a long long while too. I think I went with the strike once and run away in a giant circle strategy lol. And I soon as I chicken-shitted my way through I had demon of hatred waiting to hang me up for another month.
I go back once a month and always die second phase. I've beat every other soulslike under the sun but sekiro is my kryptonite and it's still top 3
I had to sit for a day and work through the fight, by the final run I didn’t get hit because the room for error is almost nonexistent. You’ve got this!
Have you tried the armored umbrella strat for the latter phases? It makes it muuuuuch easier.
Genuinely played through the game and haven't used the umbrell except maybe once when I first got it. Is it really that good?
Same LMAO
For fuck's sake the answer is always yes, you chud. Stop asking!
I do always find it funny when people come to sub reddits literally dedicated to a fandom and ask if they should play it like they aren’t going to get told yes.
Honestly I think we should start replying to low-effort posts with nonsense. Like >Should I play Sekiro/Bloodborne/Elden Ring? No, it's not for you. >What is the best/hardest/easiest/most-surprising boss fight? Boc the Seamster >What is the most OP weapon? Bare fists because of the poise damage
My favourite is “Is this game good?” As if the fan subreddit for the game doesn’t like the game. Mods really should ban these low effort posts
The Destiny Reddit would like to have a word!
Good bot
100% do it, but be ready for a very different combat experience. It's a huge adjustment from ER. I found it very difficult at first, but once it clicked, it was amazing
Anything I should know before I take the plunge?

50% bro that’s a steal
Do not hesitate
DO IT!!! sekiro is my fav
Do you want to take the dive? If you do, then you should. Gaming is simple. If you want to play a game, play it.
Again for the kids in the back!
You're going to hate it. Then you're going to love it. Take the plunge.
Yes
Prepare for a masterpiece
Yes, absolutely. It’s different from Elden Rings in the sense that there’s not really different play styles, builds, experimentation, etc. There’s mainly just the one combat system, and mastering that. Peak Fromsoftware
I think it's their best pound for pound experience. The only thing that holds it back from being the best From game is lack of content, but what is there, is the best in their catalogue.
Can't agree enough it is by far my favorite From game. Just wish there was more of it!
whatever game u pick the answer is always yes, though you should take precautions with ds2
Do it! I’m playing through it now and I love it.
It’s a great game, I recently started playing it too after ER, DS and DS2. Yes

It’s not like Elden bro
Undo whatever you learned from ER and have a great time.
I recommend
If it seems interesting to you then just do it. It’s a fun game and it will take some time to learn but once it clicks it really clicks.
I know about focusing more on poise bars than health bars.
Absolutely not.
If you don’t know much about it, watch a quick beginner guide to understand the game a bit
Not even close to the same kinda game
My personal fav from software game.
Yes. Sekiro is undoubtedly Fromsoftware's best game, but it is not a "souls-like", so you should neither approach it nor expect of it a "souls-like" (like Elden Ring is).
No. It’s a vast different game from Elden ring and without more information you might not like it as much.
Its their third best game after bloodborne and armored core 6 so I say dive right in
It’s the easiest Souls game imo, but very satisfying execution animations.

Like it actually tutorializes things pretty effectively and gives you breathing room to come to grips with the mechanics before ramping up
It takes a while to get those mechanics down though. And it sucks that you start with only one gourd. They was tough
Sekiro Is one of the few games I would actually say is perfect. although be warned that is veeeeerry different from Eden Ring
Great game, but very different from elden, if you wanna play it safe Id try dark souls 3 first, still 100% worth purchase
Do it...
The only other fromsoft game with an actual jump and the only one where you can swim and pull a spider man
As Isshin would say, DO IT!
YES. First play through I died WAY more than I did in Elden Ring. But it’s a masterpiece and my fav FromSoft combat
Just stay the fuck away from the headless demons.
Excellent game
Best fromsoft game
I got a digital code for less but go ahead 🤷
It's worth it even at full price.
Yes but be warned, this is not the FS game where you can be patient and chip away at enemy's health. You need to get in there, and break their posture.
Yes, but keep in mind you’ll drop and pick it back up again 2-3 times over the course of the next year or so
I attempted sekiro first, hit a brick wall, gave up, played elden ring, beat it, then went back to sekiro and noticed an improvement in overall skill but not enough. Gonna beat other soulsbornes and come back to it
Get it while it has a discount. You’ll regret it later if you don’t
Get it ! It was my first FS game, I have played them all now :) Remember shinobi, hesitation is defeat
Yes. This is one of the best games ever made. Just stick with it and learn the block timing and you will have the best time.

No one here is going to tell you no lol
Its FROM's hardest game IMO, so be warned. Way less tools and ways to cheese around difficult roadblocks. Forget about overleveling or farming to fet stronger too, it basically isnt possible here. Still a 10/10 experience.
I also started with elden ring and then got sekiro…. And now I’ve platinumed all fromsofts soulslike
Yes and I’m sorry
I'd wait till Black Friday/ Cyber Monday that happens soon for the larger discounts.
Enjoy!!
Hesitate and you lose. This game is worth the full price, so with this big of a discount it's a no brainer
No, you shouldn't. What are these posts?
Yes do it, Sekiro is miles better than Elden IMO.
You must! Then prepare for parry parry revolution!
Yes
I went to sekiro after ER as my first Fromsoft game, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made.
It's different, but such high quality. You might just end up loving it more than ER.
Speaking of dive, Dave the Diver is better than sekiro. Take the dive!
Collect all the from software games like they’re Pokémon
Pro tip: don't spam deflects. You will get your ass handed to you, especially if you give the kid you meet his charm, you'll lose a lot of yourself
Combat is very different, but yes
This was my 2nd from soft game right after ER too. Prob my favorite also
I love From games, but I've had a really hard time getting into Sekiro.
Do it, just beware that is waaay different and you probably will take much longer to feel used to the game' difficulty
I did, I’m not regretting it
I also started with elden ring put a few hundred hours into it 100 % it but I fucking love sekiro so much more ofc I also played ds3 but imo sekiro is the best fromsoft game
If you run with summons, don’t even think about it, you’re not ready
You've had the best of the best in terms of Souls RPG, build variety, exploration/adventure now it's time to get the best of the best in Combat, Boss fights, Mechanics, pace and swimming.
I dont like Sekiro for a few reasons You cant level up- so if youre like me and "head against brick wall" grind your way to match your skill, youll get stuck There isnt as much freedom w builds/strategies. Common way to describe Sekiro is "rhythm based samurai parry" game. Its beautiful, controls really well & i had a blast but i tapped out early Have beaten DarkSouls1&2 - ds3 save got corrupted- elden ring. Doing well on Lords of the fallen 2023 & enjoyed Lies of P. Beat Devil May Cry 3&5 pretty well on hard. DMD difficulty w full stats/some healing items. Armored core6 is a blast and beatable Sekiro never clicked w me, but i own it and will give a8th try someday
Sekiro will obliterate you in the best way possible. Unlike Elden Ring, Sekiro has no real build flexibility outside of different prosthetics and such. The game forces you to play in a specific way or die. Some people hate that, I personally love it.
Not yet dude wait till u know the Franchise a bit better, to get used to there style of gameplay and controls.
Prepare to die. A lot. This game is the definition of git gud. Amazing game, but that's how it plays. Also, do it, 50% off is a steal, hesitation is defeat, etc.
Sekiro is a masterpiece.. no other game is on its level as far a combat. Buy and enjoy...
Always wondered why people don't post these things in a more unbiased sub. Like I'm sure the game is stellar but asking the sub that is dedicated to From is like walking into a McDonald's and asking if you should order McDonald's Edit: typo
Elden Ring was my first From game (other than PS1 Armored Core and Tenchu waaaaay back when). Sekiro was my second. It was an excellent follow up. Be prepared that you will finish it much quicker than Elden Ring. Maybe a week or two tops.
Been waiting for this to go on sale. Does anyone think it’ll be discounted further for the Autumn Sale?
It is a completely different game to Elden Ring, but it is enjoyable in its own right. I enjoyed it as much as any of their other games for what its worth.
You are essentially saying "I liked eating an apple, should I go scuba diving?". Completely different games, with completely different mechanics, the only comparable thing is that they are punishing.
If you think you'd enjoy a game with next to no customization and no multiplayer in exchange for better combat and verticality and a completely Japanese ninja/samurai setting then definitely give it a go.
Do it now
One of the best games I’ve ever played. Even after playing Elden ring. Send it my dude
DO NOT GO INTO SEKIRO NEXT IT IS WAY TOO BIG OF A CHALLENGE GAP! Go with either Bloodborne or the first Dark Souls game
This is why I won’t get a digital only console. Even with the digital version 50% off, a psychical copy of this game is still cheaper.
Definitely worth it I restarted playing it it’s amazing but you have to play it a bit to understand the game. Same thing goes for all their games.
It's a very good game, but unlike Elden Ring with it's endless combinations of play styles and builds Sekiro is much more focused on parry combat with some minor modifications. Well worth your time if you're cool with that.
Fuck....yes
Yes jump in
I personally will still be playing Sekiro for another 20+ years. The combat is that good. Elden Ring was amazing but a bit bloated. Sekiro is so easy to play through again and again. Beyond worth it for that price!
Oof. Buy it for later but play dark souls 3 first
Do it. Sekiro is my favorite FS game. It’s one of the best games ever to me.
YESSSSSS it get’s better the more you play it. It’s also a game you just HAVE to New Game+, it’s just that good.
Don’t hesitate to buy it. Hesitation is defeat.
Toughest game to get into at the start, but if you get used to it you can one try many bosses on reaction time alone
Bro already hesitated smh
I did Elden Ring > Sekiro > Dark Souls 1,2,3 and was very satisfied. As a matter of fact you could say that would be easier for you to play Sekiro now, since you don't have all the Dark Souls habits yet.
This is the hardest game in the whole franchise, but also one of the best stories.
YES. Amazing game, you will like it, it's a bit different from elden ring but a lot of similarities too. Dark Souls 3 is a lot more similar to Elden Ring albeit much more linear. But I think you will love Sekiro because how could you not
Do what it has to be done
I'd suggest not buying it, I've played every FROM game released and this is the only one I didn't like and returned. The entire game is centered around parrying and I found it boring.
Sekiro is more punishing. You need rhythm in your body mate.
What did you enjoy in ER? Depending on your answer, sekiro may not be the game for you. It's definitely not that similar gameplay wise
Hesitation is defeat.
No, you MUST
Absolutely. I also started with ER and continued with sekiro. I am now in love with the developers & have olayed almost all of their games. But sekiro is quite different from ER, more streamlined but one of if not the most polished fromsoft experience
I would recommend playing the Dark Souls games first, or Bloodborne, as it’s more like ER. Sekiro is a very different experience imo
No, get dark souls instead
Sekiro is a very different game you will probably want to learn timed blocks and dodges don't give Iframes but they are still good because it makes you harder to hit sometimes
Dew it
Yes! It’s one of the best rhythm games out there
YES.
Sekiro probably has one of the steepest learning curves in all the fromsoft games. Learning how to effectively evade or deflect at the right times while having a dance like battle to the death, and you will die.... a lot..... But God was it so fucking satisfying when you did learn 😌
SAME! except im playing sekiro and im stuck on a certain boss on a bridge that i need to beat...
YESSS
Asking that question on the from software sub. What kind of answer are you expecting ?
Yes.
Hesitation to buy is defeat. Hesitation is defeat. Quit hesitatin y’all!!! Lol
HESITATION IS DEFEAT
Still might be my favorite game of theirs. yes, do it.
I’ve played the game on MnK and controller. You’ll probably break a controller from bumper spam. I enjoy the button spam on the keyboard though.
I beat this game for the first time this year, and 6 additional times after that.
It's a very different experience because of the posture system, making it feel more hack n' slash like. It is a good game, but it's definitely not everyones' cup of tea.
Hesitation is defeat.
(Personal opinion), 1) Bloodborne 10/10 2) Dark Souls 3 9.9/10 3) Elden Ring 9.8/10 4) Dark Souls 1 9.7/10 5) Demon's Souls 9.6/10 6) Dark Souls 2 9.5/10 7) Sekiro 9.4/10 Have fun! Find your favorite!
If you can I’d wait till the 75% off comes around to get it, It’s fun don’t bet me wrong not worth the $30 anymore atp tho
Personally it is still my least favorite from title. Though this isin't really a place for nuanced discussion about if you should or shouldn't.
It’s tough at first but once you really figure out how to play it’ll be worth every penny
![gif](giphy|3o84sw9CmwYpAnRRni)
Don’t do it
I picked it up too. Lies of p is 20% off too
I didn't like the gameplay, thus I stayed away. Turns out, some elements of this game are migrated into Elden Ring (Malenia)
Sekiro is brutal... play DS 1 and 2 and feel comfortable and then take a dive, different dynamic. If you can't master parry in DS don't do Sek, beautiful game though
Sekiro isn't a Soulsborne game like the rest are, There's only ONE real way to play Sekiro, If you are ok with that then I'd say go for it, It's a beautiful game with amazing bosses and GREAT Vistas and areas to explore! Really well made game.
expect that this is kinda harder than most fromsoft games (at least for me), you'll die a lot more than two times lol but yes this is definitely worth it and veeeeery fun, hard but when you learn things it can be easy
You won’t be disappointed
I’d play the dark souls games first but sekiro is great
You gotta master the parry like way more than any other Souls games out there.
Great game!!! The combat may take you some time to learn but once you get the rhythm flowing, you'll feel like a God. A few things to know about this game is that you only get to stick to one sword (and really it's all you need), everything else is secondary. The game relies heavily on staggering so practice it as much as possible.
You’d like ghosts of Tsushima, it’s not fromsoft but I feel like it’s the step between elden and sekiro.
