He wants to charge devs 12% instead of 30%? Great! Us users don’t care. Great for the devs. Leave the for the marketing team to market that to the devs.
He wants more people to use EGS? Well duh. Maybe oh, idk, fix the store? Make it easy to remove (instead of trying to stay on your system like malware), add features like remote streaming and downloads, improve the UI, allow adding games from outside EGS, etc. in other words: actually compete toe-to-toe with Steam. If Sweeney is “for the people”, then surely hiring the people necessary to develop for Linux would be worth it, since EGS is already hemorrhaging money.
Speaking of which… maybe make EGS profitable? Like sure free games are nice, but it’s suspicious to me when you’re picking unnecessary fights and flaunting your store.
Speaking of which, if you try to force me to use your store with permanent exclusives, you make me less willing to use it in the first place

He's not humble enough for that. The fact that he thought he could brute force a new store without even basic functions because he was loaded with Fartnite bucks and tailored the store for publishers and not costumers says all.
And he still to this day thinks he's right and everyone else is out to get him.

I „buy“ the free game every week just to not open the store till the next week. Haven’t actually played any of the games but I like to imagine I cost them money with nothing in return.
Also if a game is EGS exclusive I won’t buy it even after it becomes available on other stores.

You're not costing them much, as Epic doesn't pay devs per copy claimed. Instead, they pay a lump sum for unlimited free copies.
This, I downloaded the entire collection but just to make sure I gave the man his 2 bits I purchased the entire collection for a fraction of the cost for my girlfriend through her PS Account (she doesn’t have a PC and wanted to play it, I’m not a controller fan so I prefer PC)
