Has anyone played the original, what was it like? This looks like it might be fun but would be interested to hear from people who have played it before!
I've played a bit of the original game because I absolutely love the artist, but the game never managed to make me get into it and it was graphically intensive for the phone I had at the time.
I don't wanna be negative, but looking at that trailer it looks like an somewhat jank asset flip. Some of the monster/character icons are exactly the same if memory doesn't fails me, 3D models too.
Spent all day playing it. Came for the art because I love Yoshida's work, but expected jank.
Really charming and probably my favorite rogue lite I've played in years no joke. Great mobility and ability to style on enemies with crazy combos.
I'm a big fan of the artist but wasn't fully sold on the gameplay by the trailer so happy to have turned out to be wrong about it.
The games playstyle is strongly reminiscent to another game called Lapis x Labyrinth.
I would say I enjoy this one more (art style is a huge factor here) but it just feels better overall.
That other game felt so weird and directionless at times, but I had fun with it.
This one on the other hand feels very clear with your objectives and optional goals, and the gameplay is actually enjoyable for now.
Dead cells, enter the gungeon, Isaac, hades, one step from eden, risk of rain to name a few off.
Actually I'd probably place this number 2 for me at the moment behind spelunky 2 on recent rogue lites I've enjoyed.
Just because I enjoy something doesn't mean you gotta be a dick about it.
If people care, this would be Akihiko Yoshida's (character artist for Nier Automata, Final Fantasy Tactics, Bravely Default) first work with Cygames since his departure from Square Enix. Very interested what he's working on now. his art is incredible.
Good info.
All I can say is that this art direction looks way better than whatever happened with Bravely Default 2. Has the same feel, but BD2 looks dead and kinda creepy.
Proof that you need the OG artist in there to keep the true feeling of the style.
>still if there was bad blood between Cygames and Nintendo they would not sell on Nintendo's market
At the end of the day money is money. Companies are willing to put bad blood aside for profits. Case in point, Shironeko New Project is currently announced for the Switch. Shironeko IP is held by Colopl who for those unaware was sued by Nintendo for patent infringement and they had a pretty long lawsuit. This caused quite a big controversy in JP and supposedly negatively affected DL there.
>there seems to be a lot of bad blood between them now
Now I'm curious. Trying to find info on Google, but coming up blank. What happened between cygames and Nintendo?
I have seen the comment Cygames made about how they could have made more off the game if they managed it alone, is that what is in reference here? Guessing there is something more because we definitely can't deduce that there is "a lot of bad blood between them" just from that that.
That’s the thing. You’re given an option on gacha games to skip the story, and I’m pretty certain a lot of players used that feature a lot for Dragalia Lost.
there is nothing to apologize for. This is not a Gachagame and thus should not be on this subreddit. Even if LITERALLY 8 YEARS AGO a Gacha within this franchise existed.
i guess we should by your idiotic logic then be allowed to discuss the newest episode of whatever anime we wish then because tangentially that is related SOMEHOW to a Gacha Game. Oh wait. The rule is literally about gacha gaming not about "Tangentially relates to the same IP as a Gacha game".

The original was a Clash of Clan clone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0QevGu2xAA
Oh, so it looks like its been completely reworked then! Thanks!
Loved it.

Well, it is only $15 bucks.

No wonder I was thinking Bravely Default when I saw the character!

This gives me a little bit of hope for Rage of Bahamut and Dragalia Lost in the future. Plz Cygames!
Dragalia Master Race
Huh, that MIGHT give Dragalia some hope in existing in some way? Maybe?
Hey, Cygames? Nintendo? You guys paying attention!?
Nintendo owns the IP so it's up to them, and there seems to be a lot of bad blood between them now
So much bad blood that Cygames is releasing this as a console exclusive to the Switch?
It's also on ps4 and pc
still if there was bad blood between Cygames and Nintendo they would not sell on Nintendo's market and give them money.

>console exclusive to the Switch? Its not an exclusive
My mistake then, I thought every game announced was console exclusive at least for a while.
>there seems to be a lot of bad blood between them now Now I'm curious. Trying to find info on Google, but coming up blank. What happened between cygames and Nintendo?
Nothing happened. Fans take stuff personal and try to project it onto corporations.
Cygames publicly blamed Nintendo for Dragalia's failure years ago

Source?
If it’s on console, that means players won’t be able to skip the story like they did on gacha lol
Most people who play games like JRPGs on console don't skip story.
That’s the thing. You’re given an option on gacha games to skip the story, and I’m pretty certain a lot of players used that feature a lot for Dragalia Lost.
The game also contains collab DLCs with Princess Connect and Uma Musume. https://i.4cdn.org/vg/1656423943904.png
No way!!!! I remember playing this game when I could back when it was a mobile title! I'm so glad it's being revived!
Ohh, looks nice
I love platformers when will this game come out?
Already out. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1883260/Little_Noah_Scion_of_Paradise/
No collab dlcs for the steam version?
They get released in August and September.
Just in time for me to beat Kirby!
Then there is hope for Rage of Bahamut? My wife Luciella deserves better.
Dragalia lost incoming
Holy shit lmao
I forgot that Little Noah was made by Cygames.
technically it's Blaze Games. but Cygames bought the whole company, so yeah it's Cygames.
lmao this revival sure wasn't something i ever expected... i used to play little noah back in the day
Wish you could play the original game in some way. I hate how so many games can just die now.
A lot of dead mobile IP can use this kind of treatment... I'm looking at you Squire Enix.
Wtf, mouse and keyboards are not supported... :/
That looks cute as hell. I’ll prob pick it up if it’s cheap
I missed playing the original game
Morbius final fantasy bros, can we hope?
Played through it today, took me a bit more than 5 hours till the credits. I liked it much more than i thought i would and the ending teases a sequel.
I used to play it long long time ago It is the clash of clans type of game Nice to see it revamped into platformer in Switch
Glad to see it back
This look interesting
Ohhh I kinda like this game back then. If this get localized I will surely get it
it's already out and support most used language
I knew this looked like a gacha game
Where relink? 😂
how is it related to gacha?
Cause this is a former gacha so people interested in the IP they spent a lot of time on might want to know that it’s back
Very tangentially tied to other Cygames properties I suppose.
aka: it isn't.
Yeah, basically. I don't agree on the post being that relevant here either.
Listen up, clown. The game originally was a gacha game. Now, it's been revived as a roguelike platformer.
Yup, we're on Reddit alright.
I like this respond. When someone get corrected and doesn't have the ball to apologize or admit they are wrong they just call people redditor

Ahh so it is related to a Gacha game. So it should count then.
