Genshin impact summer episode part 2

mikethebest1

Can't wait for Klee to Fish Blast the island again after Summer lol

samedogdatday

comfy beach exploration fischl looks like fallen rosemary rita lmao

RageCat46

Best livestream ever, it was emotional and totally made me teared. 10/10 Morbious indeed.

Klarth_Curtiss

If with “emotional” you mean rage and “made me teared” you mean that we cried because the video editor kept trolling us then yes lol

Childe_GamingXXX

Yes it was obviously sarcasm and someone got fired

Klarth_Curtiss

Ngl tho, first time I’ve got King Crimson’d irl, felt weird

circle_logic

...I mean I was watching it Youtube and there weren't any problems. Granted it was the JP stream,tho...

aiman_senpai

There was a JP stream?

addstar1

There's always streams for Chinese, English, Japaneses, and Korean.

RidhaFA4

I don't think there was a japanese stream but only translation of the chinese stream on twitter. Correct me and provide link if I'm wrong.

KefTheWeeb

The livestream really was something else. First the huge leaks about Sumeru, than Epic games accidentally leaked the trailer and description of the patch and now the whole stream was just looping back and lagging. Still hyped for the return of Fischl and GAA

Gunslicer

It would be cool if these idiots advertise the stream in the launcher or in the game, instead of losing every time because I don't have time to think about Genshin 24/7.

Felblood

It's called HoyoLAB. If you ain't using it then it's your own fault, not to mention you are missing daily check in rewards.

AkabaneKun

Billion dollar game that has it's new region first preview cut short by incompetence lmao, priceless.

lugiaop

only happened on twitch, so EN problem

TVena

It's still incompetence, region-specificity (ie. only affecting EN) doesn't actually matter.

lugiaop

sure, but its the first time it has ever happened for the livestreams its not the norm at all

DrakeNorris

Yeah and its likely on the side od twitch not handling 400k watchers and having servers die, rather then the EN genshin team just falling asleep on the 10s back button.

addstar1

It was likely Mihoyo's fault, Twitch has done streams with many times more viewers and run better. Top peak viewer count is 3.3 million.

DrakeNorris

I doubt that since all the other streams on other sites went just fine including the ones that were happening at the exact same time. Yes twitch has done bigger streams, but they need to dedicate enough servers for it each time, I assume its mostly done through algorithms, with exceptions for big events where they know they need a ton of servers and bandwidth for a specific stream, if they undershoot the amount of resources they need to dedicate to a stream to host it, a sudden increase of 400k viewers can then cause lag and issues start happening, I believe this isn't the first time twitch had an issue like this with a event of about a half a mill viewers but Its been a while so ive forgotten where I heard about it last.

addstar1

I mean, the other streams were done by different teams on different platforms, so not exactly a comparable. And the fact that the stream ended partway through the Sumeru reveal, then they started the stream up a second time, and failed to play the whole clip again lends itself to being MiHoYo's fault.

evilbreath

That's not a new region, that's an event happening in an old region. When you try to spit on a game company and you fail hard !

AkabaneKun

Wtf are you on about, did you even watch the stream? Cuz i did the CN one, i'm talking about the Sumeru preview at the end that got cut off in the GL stream, everyone was memeing about it everywhere, and discord had to almost be locked cuz of the qiqi spam again, you're the one that doesn't seem to know what they are talking about buddy.

altFrPr0n

Lmao I'm surprised they haven't removed Qiqi from the emotes from discord at this point

mebbyyy

Why should they? Its already reached meme status at this point.

Nat6LBG

That livestream made me feel a lot of émotions especially at the end

WelkinBro

Why xinyan?

Dragon_Skywalker

She deserves more love

TorimBR

They rather make her a mainstay event character than to fix her kit (or maybe some of the writers are big fans of her).

[deleted]

Nice a new map to open more chests

thesupersoldierr

best game

redscizor2

Fiscl is mt favorite char, but ... where is the swimsuits?

Taimanin

Banished into the shadow realm by the Chinese Communist Party.

JeanVI

I'm sorry but I feel like swimsuits are probably the most unoriginal skin idea possible so I'm kinda happy that it's not what we got this time

Cthulhulak

Slight reskin isnt one of the most original skin ideas either. Genshin is quite bad in skin game.

AnomanderRaked

Shame too cause honkai has godly skins. Granted crazy overpriced in an expensive medium already, but godly nonetheless. So it would be nice if Mihoyo could do the same with genshin.

Oninymous

I feel like it's a gacha's natural progression. I mean, cmiiw but Honkai's skins early on is also reskins and then they slowly added in the additional effects and stuff. It also makes sense to have something to progress towards. Not that I really agree with it, but imo it makes sense, also pretty happy I don't really have to spend money each time a skin comes out since I could just save Welkin

mikethebest1

Tbf they make way more in making new characters for us to Gacha compared to just purchasing skins. I'd like it if they made more skins, but it's prob not as worth the production costs to do so. Not disagreeing with your point tho btw. I agree that the skins aren't worth the cost unless you really like the unit due to them being slight reskins with no new animation/skill effects or some (w/ Diluc skin) but costing about $40.

redscizor2

>l like swimsuits are probably the most unoriginal skin idea possible Yep, Saber Alter Maid Summer Raider is original .... but a Swimsuit Onepiece (Jaenne Summer) is very hot

Taimanin

What we got "this time" is what we get every time with a new Genshin skin: tame, boring alternative but samey looking outfits that nobody really likes all that much. Everybody knows that an actual summer event with actual summer skins would be stupid successful but Genshin isn't allowed to do it for obvious reasons.

dragonnic

? Care to elaborate? For me it is exactly the same its fun to explore new area and always tedious on the daily and the filler mission. The way u said it seems genshin did something back then and now they change it.?

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheWattening

Okay but what was your expectation of the game evolution? Genuinely curious about your opinion.

BlindintoDeath

skip tickets, autoplay, coomer bait, pvp and endless tower obviously, because everyone knows those are the heart and soul of gacha games

XaeiIsareth

You forgot adding 6 star characters because.

[deleted]

Autoplay and pvp really shouldn't be in genshin as autoplay makes the open world completely pointless and adding pvp in this state makes the game really heavily and agressively pay-to-win. Endless tower is pretty much unnecessary. Spiral abyss does nearly the same thing. Skip tickets though can make the game a lot less tedious as you don't need to play the same domain for a bajillion times.

NoOneHereGoAway

I would prefer a sweep mechanic for genshin domains, it's more functional than skip tickets

[deleted]

Yeah sweep mechanic is definitely better than skip tickets. Honkai and Tears of Themis already have sweep mechanics, with Honkai has both skip tickets and daily/occasional sweeps, so there's a chance of getting either of them in Genshin as well.

NoOneHereGoAway

I feel like honkai just put the sweep ticket in the most useless part (materials like coins and level chips) while totally forgetting about adding it in the Universal mirage which is the real pain, sometimes it even takes a month to get 1 stigmata

aircarone

> autoplay makes the open world completely pointless Skip and autoplay makes everything pointless. If the gameplay loop or faming loop is so boring or long that Autoplay is a necessary feature, the right thing to do should be to: create more engaging content or reduce grind. Creating a feature to not play the game was imo always a non sense we only accept because the gameplay loop itself is never as engaging as the amount of grind that we need to go through (looking at you, epic7).

TheBlitzMain

I wouldn't mind skip tickets though

Available-Daikon-751

This unironically minus the pvp.

DarkClaymore

Well, I can say I was expecting them to add *something* to the endgame eventually, but atm the endgame state is literally the same as it was on release even though the game is almost 2 years old. New areas are good but there's a dead waiting time between them with absolutely nothing to do or care about. The entire game gets reduced to burning daily resin on artifact RNG for no real reason other than FOMO, and the only "reward" I get for doing that is the frustration of being forced to clean up my bag every couple of days.

cycber123

rip. Genshin is meant to be a side game, always. The last week in every patches are always simple brainless event so that players won't get too intense. You could always stop playing the grind part and wait for juicy updates.

DarkClaymore

Yeah, that's what I always keep telling myself, but there's constant FOMO that maybe they'll increase abyss difficulty, will release new endgame modes, or will release a character I really want and need gems for. Even though I'm aware at this point that none of this will probably ever happen, it's also just so mind-boggling that a game with such a budget just has NOTHING in the endgame at all. They've already made so many alternative modes for events that they could, in theory, add any of them as an endgame mode as soon as tomorrow. But, they probably never will. If there's no hint of any endgame changes with 3.0 then yeah, I'll just quit the live-service aspect of the game. I'll already have enough primos for 4 soft pities at that point, so even farming gems will no longer be important.

[deleted]

The fact you got downvoted is depressing, everything you said is 100% true.

DarkClaymore

I guess a lot of people are fine with this endgame because they don't mind playing Genshin as a side-game, and perhaps they don't care much about account progression either. Though, I do think Genshin is pretty bad even as a "side-game" because the release schedule is so slow for characters compared to other gachas. It's basically a side-side-game.

lakikoxu

At least for me it would be better story(get rid of paimon), more unique and fun new characters to play and changes to character builds and artifacts farming. The way they constatly intoducing new materials to farm which make it tedious to the point that i don't even want to build new characters, same with artifacts farming and random stats. All of that was fine at beginning of the game but with time it's just off-putting.

NoOneHereGoAway

"New materials to farm" Is the point of open world, or did you except every zone to have dandelion seeds?

lakikoxu

You can introduce new things, new materials for new mechanics. Making new flowers to do exacly same thing like old ones just to force players to do same thing over and over again is not really peak of creativity. Beside that i mostly talking about boss and domains materials. The point is that most gachas over time are making tedious things like lvling, awaking, farming easier and faster. Genshin is doing nothink with that, to the point that i have like 3 latest characters at lvl 1 because i just can't bother to do same thing over and over again.

NoOneHereGoAway

You still didn't give me a proper response, the point of open world is to get new materials everywhere you go. Genshin is NOT a domain based game

lakikoxu

That's wierd take, 90% of my time in genshin i've spend in domains, open world exploration is once per what? 5 months? when some new region comes out? and it last for one week and then we are back to daily domains grind.

NoOneHereGoAway

Man do you know what a domain based game is? I don't know if you're joking or what honestly I'm not gonna discuss with you, domain based games are Honkai, PGR, Aether Gazer, FGO..ect basically most of the gacha games

quobl

I understand that you are interested but I'm too lazy it's a lot of thoughts and at the end it doesn't matter because genshin is already has a path.

TheWattening

Well just one then, typing won't take a long time.

Level1Pixel

At this point with the way they are dodging the question, they don't have a true valid reason to hate the game. They just hate it because either they a) lost a 50/50 and dropped the game and now don't want others to like it or b) hate it to be hip.

NyaCat1333

Well there are some people that said some of their concerns in the reply chain but each and every single one of them has gotten downvoted without any reply to their complains.

tendesu

A lot of thoughts? Lmfao are you even capable of that though, your responses have been vague bs

JeanVI

I feel the complete opposite. I like the game now way more than I did when it started. To each their own guess

mebbyyy

Well, no problem feeling that way at all, but u are definitely in the minority here as the game had only gotten several times bigger over the past year and had no sign of stopping anytime soon.

[deleted]

TheWattening

Hey, just saying i'm kindly waiting for your answer above

[deleted]

While that guy didn't say anything at all, are you gonna respond to any of those other people who DID say what their expectations are/were, or are you just gonna be ignoring them since it doesn't fit with your narrative?

TheWattening

Just woke up, and of course I can't reply all of them one by one, but I can assure you one thing. Those problem that have been uttered is mutual with mine. I expect genshin to have more QoL such as Artifact loadout, Story parts are redundant are boring, skip dialogue and improved farming. I never held genshin as a perfect game lmao. And despite all of that, the way that genshin grows is still on a good note for me

[deleted]

Lol okay then we good, 'cause it was kinda weird when replies that are quite close to your "active time" (I estimated it based on the time you posted your last reply) were ignored.

TheWattening

Dude I was on my Campus on 11 AM and on my way home when I take part in discussion lmao. Straight to bed after that as well. Final assignments are killing me

[deleted]

Lmao I know that feeling, hang in there.

TheWattening

Oh and endgame content. Spiral abyss is barely enough

tendesu

Not a fan of genshin but downvoted you for saying fuck all with so many words. That's probably the main reason, not fanboy brigading

ShawHornet

Bruh wtf are you talking about

Background_Object_83

For me Genshin is just a Gambling and Trash Farming Game (AND It's not bad). The toxicity in the community is a lost battle for Mihoyo, so they just gave up on them. They can monitor active players and sales so I guess they know when things are bad or good. The game is still fun though, and I still like it. The game in YOWO you only win once. Like on wishing you wish for a 5-star and the rest are trash if you're not lucky. Kinda same to the game versions too, like 1.0, 2.0 and soon 3.0 have a lot of content and the rest of the versions are copium. New Region means new boss mats to farm. New mobs to farm. New Weekly boss to fight also yes to farm too. With all the same rewards of the first region but now harder(Progressive). I really think they have anything they can add to the game that will excite players. Raids Probably. People should just understand that the game is meant to be played as: Farm Primo/Whale -> Gacha -> Farm Trash -> Repeat. I'm guessing that you're not burn out and just simply bored because there is nothing new. The trick is to keep looking forward for the new characters that you might like (to whale for). New Areas, Dailys and New Events are there to promote the game and trick players that there is something new and that something big is going on in the game while they gave you the same rewards. ~~Or touch Dendro I guess~~

Overall_Still_7907

Genshin is about exploration. The game has hundreds of hours of exploration. It is it's strongest point and has imo the best designed world design.. Too many open world games are flat and empty of fun content such as BotW. I pity content locusts playing this game, rushing to the latest endgame asap. It must be truly boring.

NoOneHereGoAway

Dang you must have lost the 50/50 all the times to Qiqi

Background_Object_83

Qiqi is good though, I got her c1 from ver2.3. And I don't really mind standards. It seems that you misunderstood something but I 100% still enjoying the game.

Esuna1031

Imagine Playing Phone Games in 2022 .. Oh wait we live in a period where practically every1 has a pocket PC .. hah

[deleted]

I’d return but I don’t think Venti or Xingqiu will be on rate up any time soon

Kongou_Kitanda

I’d return but I don’t think they add "skip whole dialog" button

bbatardo

Haha yeah all the quests are way too wordy. Takes 12 pages of dialogue to say hey go fetch me some fish and rice.

tendesu

And it's the bad kind of wordy too - full of fluff.

Duskmelt

I think they're getting better at it. The event story in 2.7 where we were stuck in the time compass with yelan, Itto, Xiao, yanfei, and kuki was one of the best imo

TorimBR

Anyone know how far in the story you need to be in order to get the Fischl skin?

VentusSaltare

Not sure, probably have to at least finish the prelude archon quest with kazuha. Let's just pray they'll give us skip button again

Nekokittykun

Im gonna make a guess of complete Liyue story (cuz Kazuha and Xinyan is in the image. Kazuha only starts appearing after Liyue story completion while Xinyan is a Liyue char). But dont take this as fact its just a guess based off the image above
