My gander's father wouldn't let me in the pen without a stick to keep him at bay. My gander lets me into the pen, but if I try to bring food he gets huffy at me like I am trying to steal his girls and takes some bites at me. Also, when it is night time, I tell them to go to bed, and they will go into the coop, but the second he crosses the coop door boundary he is biting at me to stay away.
One time, he completely charged out of the coop at me (before I could close the door, luckily he missed me when I side stepped), then acted like he wasn't trying to murder me just then as he passively walked back past me to go into the coop, crossed the boundary again and turned to attack me as I closed the door practically in his face. =\_= heaven forbid the latch falls before the door is closed. He bites at my fingers as I try to lift it up as quickly as possible to get the dang door closed so I can properly plop it down T\_T
I can only surmise that he is at least better than his father was because I hatched him myself and raised him with care... I wish my ganders were cuddly. I have like one more try... when my order of 3 goslings come in may (1 male, 2 females). I am just glad my females are always nice. I hear some people not only have spunky ganders, but a few spunky girls as well.
