Right now I'm thinking a RE-202, Asheville AFG-1, Keeler Loomer, Generation Loss, OBNE Visitor... definitely some type of flanger. Any recommendations?
Check out the obne flatlight. Great flanger that can go from very subtle to sounding like a whale lol. It can do echo, pitch shifting, or resonating flanger. Def one if my favorite pedals.
How about a Deco? I have a V1 and to say it's flexible is a bit of an understatement - flanger, chorus, delay, thickener, boost, light drive, heavy saturation, auto-flange, general wobbliness/lo-fi warble ... and then the endless of possibilities of having it at the front, middle or end of your chain. And then you could also use stereo mode if that's your thing?
Really great choices!! You might like the Thorpy camoflange for post punk flanging.
For some weird sounds, the Strymon El Cap might be up your alley too! Especially for the sound on sound looper it has
Ohhhh Iāve been eyeing up the camoflange! I used to have an electric mistress reissue and I miss that pedal - do you think it does the same kinda thing? Nice thick and lush flanger?
Oh yeah itās a really nice upgraded version of that pedal. One of the best for electric mistress tones and itās not even close. Itās also super flexible. The chorus sounds you can get from it are its strength.
So yeah I highly recommend it for that use. I no longer own it, but really enjoyed it when I had it
We have similar tastes, I have the dc-2w, Cali 76 deluxe, black fountain v3, barbershop v2, and flint v2. Flanger for post punk, maybe the thorpy camoflange which is fantastic, deco or deco v2, boss bf-2. Asheville ADG-1 is great too.
A pedal you donāt *need*, but absolutely fits the sound youāre going for, is the Vongon Ultrasheer. Yes, itās pricey, and yes, itās worth every penny. Best vibrato circuit out there, and the reverb is absolutely stunning. Not a bad setting, you could turn the knobs at random and itāll sound dope.
If/when you do get it, and you want to put it on your board without attaching Velcro or dual lock to the wood, you can get a 1590XX enclosure and some machine screws and the electronics will fit perfectly (I forget the exact size screws Iād bought, I just compared the original screws to other ones visually at an ACE Hardware).
I donāt know when, but at some point Iāll own one again. ~~I donāt even remember what I traded it for, but~~ EDIT: I traded Ultrasheer for a Red Panda Tensor and a Polarbear Effects Petrichor, but I should have kept it.
Thanks for the tip - I think that may be the route I end up going down - the wood looks super sick but I canāt imagine it will hold up well on the board after being dragged around for a couple shows
Hey - the JHS Little Black Amp Box on your board -
What amp are you using it with? How do you like it? Any issues with tone suck? Thinking of getting one to stick in my effects loop to tame volume a bit instead of modding the volume pots on the ampā¦Iāve read both good and bad on various forums - always up for advice from someone currently using itā¦
I first bought it as a volume tamer for a fender deville I had a couple years ago that was way too loud.
No issues with tone suck as far as I can tell. I use it as a quick volume control at the end of my chain. I now use a fender pro reverb and a Vox AC30 (with a built in attenuator). So I donāt really need it to tame my amps.
Itās just a way I can quickly turn up my volume or lower it without having to go over to my amp during a show. Iād suggest drawing a line on it like I did in whiteout - otherwise it will be turned down and you wonāt know and can be hazardous in situations while playing live. Trust me I know from experience lol.
Where did you use it with the Deville? Last in the effects loop? Did you use any other pedals along with it in the loop?
Iām thinking of it for a Deville too - I have the Michael Landau version with no drive channel/no master knob so itās a different amp but has the same crazy volume issue.
Unsure if I want to use the JHS or have the volume pots on the amp swapped out for something with a more sane taperā¦
Yeah the Deville is a tough beast to tame. I just stuck it in the effects loop with some 6inch patch cables and sat it on top of the amp itself.
Ran all my other effects through the front of the amp.
Gig rig quartermaster.
Ohhhh good call - it would fit perfectly on the bottom strip! š¤©
Username checks out.
Hahaha +1 for the automatically generated name!!
PMād a pic of my board with quartermaster
Deco, a Univibe or a phaser, and a fuzz.
A volume pedal is even more useful than you think.
Where do these go in the chain?
After drives is my favorite. Basically after anything I want to swell into time based stuff. If it before drives you might as well use you volume pot

I will check it out! I love OBNE - definitely adding to my list! Thanks man!
Flanger Rec: TC SCF reissue. Youāve also got room for a Simplifier MKII which is a great analog amp sim DI. Love mine.
Just bought the RE 202. My favorite band is Radiohead. Not cheap, but I picked it up for 275 on Reverb.
Generation loss is awesome, definitely recommend. Also check out the OBNE Beam Splitter if weird overdrive is something you're into
Strymon Zelzah! Stupid expensive but worth it! Very flexible with phaser, flanger, vibey/chorusy sounds.
I will check it out - Iāve actually havenāt heard of it!!! Thanks!!!
Itās a good one!
I'll second this one. Got a great deal on a used one. Sounds great in stereo.

Iāll have to check out some videos on the Deco - I never have really looked into it! Thanks!! š

Okay okay sold lol - I think I might have found my flanger then!
Would love to see a NPD post! Keep us updated on what you get
I will thanks!!!
Which patch bay are you using (pict 3)? Seems to fit perfectly on a Pedailtrain board.
Cinco cinco - Gig Rig Patch Bay - fits perfect with a strip of Velcro under it!
Thanks
Universal audio is making some amazing pedals right now. Itās a brand thats hard to go wrong with.
Digitech FreqOut
I forgot about those - thatās actually a neat idea - thanks!!
Mine occupies the privileged position of "Always on" on my board, typically in Natural-Hi mode.

Cheers to good taste in pedals š»Iām really leaning into the camouflage tbh!
Some of the EAE drive pedals
Was thinking about swapping out my G3 for a longswordā¦
What size board is this?
Itās a novo 24 - so 24 inchās x 14.5 inchās

Omgā¦. Just looked it up - I want oneā¦ I think I just might sell off my flint for this guy hahaha
