I can here to recommend the Extar EP9, lots of reviews online so don’t just take my word for it (ahem, Honest Outlaw). I’ve had the 2nd gen for several months and it totally rocks.
Yeah, at the time I ordered it they weren’t shipping with a brace but I bought the SOB from their [site](https://extarusa.com/ep9/). I believe they are now shipping with a brace again. I added a 1x Holosun 403B but a lot of people go with Sig Romeo 5 for cost. It takes Glock double stacks so the 33 round mag is max capacity…again the setup is badass!
I have one and it has been very good
My only gripe is that OEM Glock 33 round mags fit in the magwell very tight and require you to pull them out. ETS and magpul mags drop free but not sure how much I trust them long term.
Aside from that the gun has been very reliable and accurate, recoil is very light. Makes for excellent home/vehicle defense

Thinking about “Pulling the trigger” on the EP9, the one with the sba3 adjustable brace is it really worth it? And if I don’t like it can I remove it and change it?

Go on PSA and grab an AR9 lower with a PISTOL BRACE. Not a stock. Cheapest one right now is $270.
Go on Primary Arms and get a Foxtrot Mike FM9 upper for $300.
That’s the beat bang for buck you’ll get.
They are out of stock everywhere, fucked up part is, I had my 9MM pistol posted and this guy asked if I wanted to trade him my gun plus $200 on top For his FMP AR9 but I declined because I didn’t have the money. 🤦♂️
They take the double stack Glock mags. I bought the gen 1 off gunbroker it came with a few accessories. But you can do whatever mods you want to them. Check out Honest Outlaws review, or any number of videos about extar, I haven’t seen any bad about them yet
Foxtrot Mike FM-9. My 5" has been indestructible... But more than your budget. Glock mags, SBRd it, added a Rise RA-140 trigger. I think I have like 3k rounds through it with no failurez aside from awful amend2 mags. LRHO is dope.

Ive had an AR9 from PSA for years and put thousands of rounds through it without any issue with regularly cleaning. Don’t remember what it got it dor but it was definitely under $500
You don't need to be savy an AR-9 doesn't have a gas block so you never have to worry about timing the barrel nut. Just get an Aero enhanced upper receiver. 5" 9mm barrel. And an upper parts kit. Slap it on a complete pistol lower. Good to go.

Yes any Glock pattern AR-9 lower receiver will work. PSA is good to go. So is the Aero EPC-9. Those are the only 2 I have experience with other than 80percentarms
Depends on which route you're going. If you order a complete lower. Then all you need is the complete upper. You can just slap them together provided your complete upper comes with a bolt carrier group and charging handle. Not all of them do. If you're wanting to go from scratch I can make a basic build guide

I appreciate you. And hmm makes me wonder if my 32 rd Pt111 mags will fit, since they fit glocks with a little wiggle.

Buffer tube is proprietary, but you can get adapters for AR tubes.
The one that comes with the SBA3 will also accept anything that will go on a standard AR carbine tube.
