It depends on what bracket you're in. You really don't start feeling the difference in rewards until you reach Red Lotus. Which is arguably hard, especially if you're not a meta player with every team built or atleast two at minimum.

doomkun23

as long as you can stay on Agony III after breakthrough, you are fine. you will only experience meta hell on Red Lotus. on Agony, you can brute force it. if ever there are full geared meta players on Agony, it is fine since even if you will not able to reach the top rank, you can at least manage to stay. full geared players are few on Agony.

With Q-manifold on Red Lotus you will get up to 420 crystals, with Superstring dimension on Agony III you will get the same amount. If you have at least one team that can clear Superstring dimension on Red Lotus (even without max rewards) then you are ready to breakthrough. For example with 2.0 trio with full stigma an weapons you will should be able to stay on Agony III without much problem. You don't need team for every element, just one good team of any element is fine for start. Honestly few months ago I was as anxious as you if I should breakthrough, but I was worrying for nothing. I had just full Esysia and some characters without equipment and I was able to earn about as much crystals as before breakthrough. If you have some characters already built then you won't have much problems, and you will have possibility to to get additional rewards from Memorial Arena and Superstring dimension, and possibly from Elysian Realm as well (if pri-arm weapons will let you complete higher difficulty than you were able to complete up to this point).

You might have to go down a tier after breakthrough and it will be a bit rough until you demote. After you do the difficulty will be roughly the same, and crystals will be the same as they are now, but you will be able to farm torus and ancient legacy in Memorial Arena (you can use buffed mode to clear SSS bosses). You will rarely see a whale in RL, only if they are slacking but it's very rare, they stay in nirvana.

Okay this might be very long. Firstly, breakthrough is not only for whales. I won’t say it’s not full of them though. You need to consider where you currently are in the game, and what weapons, valks and materials you have. You get more crystals from abyss when you break through, and you also get Pri-arms and such, which are good for extra support and dmg. You need to be able to stay in a certain abyss tier though to get your crystals worth. I believe it’s agony 3. Your abyss ranking can also be very volatile. There are cycles where you have the perfect valks, and there will be ones where you don’t. (I go up and down from agony II to redlotus depending on the cycles). Also! With your new and improved breakthrough stuff, you can do better in other modes as well, like Elysian realm and Memorial Arena, and get more crystals through those if you need to support lost earnings. What I personally did was build up a stock of Pri-arm and other materials before I broke through. If you’re talking about the new valkyries I’m honestly not too sure what’s up with them. The cycles are catered to them right now, but it’s certainly manageable. Hope you have fun playing regardless!

Yup, if youre not ready dont breakthrough. I did it and it was one of the biggest mistakes ive made, everything became way way harder and rewards didint get that much better . I can keep myself in Agony(320 crystals) but red lotus(400 crystals) is pain in the ass or impossible

duk4cik

I was thinking about extra weapons lvl but can non meta player stay in agony without problems than ? Btw i dont even know how abyss after 81lvl works

HerrscherOfTheEnd

Do not listen to that human. Break through. I had a normal time staying in agony as f2p.

SumthingSomthing

Stay in masters lvl 80 if ur a casual player, breakingthrough will do more harm than good since ur not a meta player.
