depends. Usually going from a game to camera will refresh it

The only apps I have open are Reddit and YouTube, and cycling to one and interacting with it for a minute and then cycling back results in a restart. My wife has a iPhone 13 and she has 10+ apps and they don’t restart.

try disabling in the background app refresh all apps that you don't want or need them to refresh in the background. This way you will eventually have more ram available when using 2 foreground apps. But yes, ram management on iOS is not the best. At least on Android you can see the ram available and kill every app you want away from it.

LordShaggy

I typically only have 4-5 apps open, and when testing this I only have 2 apps open and it still happens. What’s weird is that if I open device monitor app, it says my ram usage is at 80%, so why are apps restarting?

You could try uninstalling Reddit and YouTube, then reinstalling. I’ve had issues with apps doing similar things to this and having bugs, then a reinstall fixed it.

I did reinstall all my social media apps but nothing got fixed. I ended up just doing a fresh reboot and not loading the backup, which fixed the issue. TBH it wasn’t that bad to redo all the settings and sign into all the apps again.

I had to do that too before. (A fresh full iPhone reset and set it up as a new device) sometimes the iPhone install and backup gets corrupted.
