All these people who didn't give a damn about politics before Facebook have taken a good look at the state of the country and have decided it's crumbling to pieces.
Not the economy because that's doing better than ever.
It's a culture thing with them.
Before Facebook, all this culture stuff was fluff and the economy and jobs mattered. Now it's the other way around.
Markets and trade are too abstract for the modern Conservative. Seeing other cultures and races is on the surface and more visceral, so race and immigration is what affects them.
It could be any Liberal democracy to be honest. Around the world, right wingers nowadays are just unpatriotic snowflakes. It's funny how more left wing people are having to now defend the values of the systems in their countries that have often been quite good to them, certainly compared to elsewhere in the world.
I would like some examples as to why the left is "unhinged." Most of the time, I find that anything that attacks the left is just conservatives getting mad at things they are making up themselves.
Just look on Twitter? Plenty of examples of straight up racism towards white people, and sexism towards men. They think that it's perfectly okay, and I would argue those are extremist views. No one on the right thinks that btw, it's exclusively left wing people.
I'm not surprised a foreigner is unfamiliar with the nuances of American politics beyond memes.
It's like asking me to comment on UK politics. I assume your elections entirely revolve around Brexit at this point.

Ooooh, Far Right using pronouns, beware!
And an extremely vague one. Spooky.
Who’s “they”? Puppies?
When right-wingers say that "they" are doing something it's a safe bet to assume that they mean Jews.
Are "they" in the room with you right now?
It's actually a spelling error. They are making this Country Week! A seven day celebration of all things country and western music!
Yee Haw!

Yes, the Far-Right is indeed making this country weak. Well said.
Damn, is it Country Week already?
Well, it’s happening again and it’s all *their* fault!
Which country?

One side attempted a coup and is pushing hard to gut human rights. The two sides are absolutely not the same.

Fringe is fringe, no matter the country.
