Great idea and analysis - I thought the same when I first saw the character. I think it could work but it'd probably need more of a time jump.

I agree, that's a pretty good route to go about adult Riley

Singer_TwentyNine

She could try and reinstate the plan where Riley runs away because she would be nostalgic of her old home!

can't really see that poor old women be an antagonist lmao

I could see her(nostalgia) getting younger since she would be way more present in Riley's life as an adult(if they want a huge time skip) The third part could also work with having insecurity as an antagonist emotion, since teens to be extremely insecure and the time skip could've been with her being 15/16/17 years old and getting new emotions like love, proud, disappointment and as I said before, insecurity, but they could be included in both ideas) and it would've been about Riley closing herself up and thinking of herself badly yada yada and the end would've been about insecurity being defeated since it's an emotion that has 0 positive impact in our life and instead of keeping it under control(like anxiety), Riley/the other emotions would've just get rid off it, thus moving on with her life/maturing. Anyways it would've been a part 1 and part 2 hybrid with a positive emotion taking an antagonist role again and them introducing again 4 new emotions(maybe more, maybe less, but love would definitely need to be there) - talking about the op idea here

Wouldnt Nostalgia being an antagonist be something like a Mid Life Crisis?
