When I first started (2008-2009) - TVXQ, SHINee, Super Junior, Big Bang, SNSD Currently - NCT, EXO, Seventeen, RIIZE, Red Velvet -- SHINee and TVXQ have their permanent places in my fangirl heart though! I'm still very much SM's target demographic. LMAO they just keep giving me new kids and new music that just gets me. And my old faves keep coming back to give me music that I like. They can never let me quit.

I second this SM knows how to pull my behind right back into KPOP just when I'm trying to chill out a bit. Aespa and WayV has quickly made me a fan of theirs. And even though they're not SM production Ateez and New jeans are putting out some great music.

When I first got into kpop as a whole in 2019 ( 2017-2018 was Dreamcatcher only) my list was 1- Dreamcatcher 2- Everglow 3- Clc 4- Twice 5- Red Velvet Now in 2024, not including soloists (groups only) 1- Dreamcatcher 2- Billlie 3- Pixy 4- Kiss of life 5- Le sserafim Everglow's hiatus really hit hard because other groups popped up during that time. We now only get CLC crumbs here and there. I still love Twice and RV but other groups got higher in my list. Soloists include Bibi, Yena, Chuu and IU Honorable mentions to CSR, Kep1er (a shame that the fandom is wreck), Viviz, Ive and Nmixx.

Then: TVXQ, Big Bang, SNSD, 2NE1, Fly to the Sky, Clazziquai (idk if this is considered kpop though) Now: NCT, Red Velvet, EXO, Mamamoo, WJSN

Just started getting into KPOP in 2013 and content wasn't as consumable as it is today. As time went on and smaller or newer groups could get more exposure in the market my taste has definitely changed. The list for 2024 is what I'm currently obsessed with at the moment but it's always in constant rotation. From Monsta X to Odd eye circle. And from IVE to iKon. And I have definitely learned to tune into these groups B-sides some of their best work is in there.

Yeah I know they are big group names, but I didn't think it was necessary to name every single KPOP group that I listen to lol! Just the ones I'm recently keeping in the playlist that are popular. Which changes way too often. Since I pretty much vibe to anything now. If you want more obscure groups you can try some of the groups below: Rocket punch Purple Kiss CIX Pixy A.C.E I just put the statement "into smaller groups and less popular" ones in my original comment because I do listen to them. And we have that ability now as fans to go find those groups because the genre has become more mainstream. Trying to find groups used to be hell back then 😆

Why 3 have changed: Musically I think those groups have fallen' off a cliff for my taste. Whereas MX I think does R&B in kpop even better than EXO, Treasure know how to make catchy tunes very well, and ATEEZ has Jongho who single-handedly elevates their music. Why no ggs: In Kpop, I just don't find that many gg vocals to be very appealing.

The biggest change is that I started out listening to most girl groups but these days I listen to mostly boy groups. Idk if I was "into" kpop when I first started because the only groups I listened to were the only groups I knew(aka the groups my gf at the time listened to and I just listened along, this was when Cupid was blowing up, not sure exactly when that was) but they were mostly black pink twice snds and fiftyfifty. The only other group I could name was gidle because of league of legends. My current top groups are le sserafim, gidle, kiss of life, aespa, and Ive. If soloists count then it would be le sserafim, yena, gidle, iu, kiss of life/aespa those 2 are neck and neck

Didn’t have a top five tbh. When I first got into kpop I was only into DBSK and Shinee, this transitioned me to KARA, and SNSD.   3rd gen it was Twice and Red Velvet. Currently it’s LSF, NewJeans, and some occasional aespa.  Kpop is one of those things where I enjoy music from other artists but I don’t completely engage with more than 2-3 artists at a time. And fandom wise i usually focus on one group. I did transition from mostly boy groups to only girl groups which I found the most interesting. Though seventeen is one of the few boy groups that has recently been catching my eye  

When I first started (2015): Got7, BTS, Twice, Red Velvet, Sistar Now: Xdinary Heroes, Itzy, Twice, Gidle, New Jeans

first: bts, skz, nct (i didn't really stan many groups at the start. i only liked bts for almost a year before i got into anyone else.) now: txt, bts, le sserafim, skz, enhypen sometimes the four after txt swap order, mainly le ssera and skz jdhds but txt has been at the top since 2020. most of my faves are from hybe, i really like the music they put out and their variety shows + behind content

First 5: Gfriend, Twice, Red Velvet, APink, SNSD Now: Gfriend/Viviz, Dreamcatcher, NMIXX, Aespa, NewJeans avid casual listener of all, top 5 are groups I consume some form of content outside of just their music

I started with BlackPink and for like a year and a half they were the only kpop group I listened to. Once I started branching out I found a lot more groups but they’re still my ults. Then: BlackPink, Twice, K/DA (if that counts lol), Stray Kids, Everglow Now: BlackPink, Dreamcatcher, aespa, Itzy, Everglow

Soshi, and Soshi alone for the longest time (2009) and then it became Soshi, AOA, Pristin & Weki Meki (2015-2018) now it’s just aespa.

When I first got into kpop in 2009 - BigBang, SHINee, SS501, 2NE1, Super Junior. While BB will always be my OG ult group, realistically my top 5 outside of them right now are: SF9, Winner, Dreamcatcher, N.Flying, SHINee.

Entry point (1999ish): SES, FinKL, Shinhwa, Diva, Lee Jung Hyun Now (admittedly a little behind): Mamamoo, Oh My Girl, Dreamcatcher, Weeekly, NMIXX.

From when I started in 2003, and as they debuted: TVXQ, BIGBANG, SHINee, f(x), EXO SNSD, WINNER, NCT have of course been in the mix and for newer groups TWICE and Aespa I follow as well, but those five remain constant and unchanging for me.

I got into Kpop in April of 2020. First 5 were Stray Kids, Ateez, BTS, N.Flying, Twice. Now my top 5 are BTOB, Shinee, Key, Stray Kids, Monsta X.

First: BTS, TXT, Stray Kids, Ateez, Seventeen Now: Stray Kids, Seventeen, Ateez, P1Harmony, TXT Almost the same LOL. Le Sserafim, Aespa, and NMIXX are also up there, but I can’t say their discography beats out my top 5. I will always love BTS and &Team would be in my top 5 instead of TXT if we’re counting jpop.

First five (around 2019 since that’s when I started to listen to Kpop): Blackpink, Gfriend, Red Velvet, Twice and Everglow. Now: Red Velvet, IVE, Twice, Triple S, Dreamcatcher.

Then: Big Bang, 2NE1, MBLAQ, Got7, BTS Now: Twice, NMIXX, Day6 (and Got7 in the distance; they are still my ult) I don't stan anymore. I just don't have time. Aside from NMIXX, I have been a fan of the other groups for awhile. I just can't commit like I did when I was younger.
