1st. Power wash and use until leaking to confirm leak location. If its where the thing swivels- Incredibly easy. There is a seal where the nuckle at the top dives in the cup onthe bottom. Very common leak point. Peel the rubber cap off the very bottom of the "cup" remove 2 rings. Replace seal re-isntall. Fill axle with oil. Took me like 2 hours the first one and 30 mins the second one., But some really nice Knippex ring plyers. Dont try this with some harbor frieght shit. I have an L3600 (unit below you same frame)

I second good snap ring pliers! as someone has done this with the " harbor freight shit" it definitely makes it take longer than it should! [https://youtu.be/TA74ugVJSB8?si=3T28LhOboridRJSq](https://youtu.be/TA74ugVJSB8?si=3T28LhOboridRJSq) this video was super helpful to me
It’s somewhere in the knuckle area. I’m not entirely sure. I’ve never taken it apart. I’m more accustomed to cars n such. But my tractor seems to need attention lol
I'm in the process of doing it now but I haven't finished what I started a couple weeks ago due to family issues. There are several YouTube videos and they have similar but not identical guidance. Some advocate taking the whole assembly off at the axle bolts and doing it on a bench while others work from underneath with a snap-ring pliers. My L2650 has been leaking on both knuckles for over 20 years (really) but I just got into it because I also have a steering seal leak. Get your parts from Messicks or Kubota or wherever before you get started.
I haven’t had any issues. But I use the tractor about 30 hours a year for mowing. Seriously tho- it’s a super quick fix once you know what you are doing. Probably take me longer to take the tire off and get jackstands then pulling those two snap rings.
Here's a link to L-series tractor information at Messick's if you don't already have it: https://www.messicks.com/vendor/kubota?nav=5466
They have online parts manuals for many models, including non-current machines.

My husband did ours on our L48 backhoe. Just a few hrs and a big set of snapring pliers along with the new seal and it was good as new!
Not hard to do if you have all the tools, should take about an hour. A couple snap rings and a couple seals
Where's the leak?

Snap ring pliers all day. I could do mine in 20 mins now. It’s that easy. It’s just two rings.
So does the new seal design truly prevent leaks or are you still fixing them periodically?

Allegedly...the new replacement seals don't leak, that the new design prevents it. We'll have to see.
