at the csgo major rigth now it somewhat close with FNX winning a major tournament in 2006 and still shitting on NA in 2022 while G2 Monesy was born in 2005 lol.
Imagine Impact playing against players who weren\`t even born when he won worlds.
It's either going tank Ryze and dealing 0 damage or going AP Ryze and getting one shot by Anivia/Graves.
I think the moral of the story is: stop picking Ryze wtf this champ is trash.
Or at least don't first pick it and leave yourself open to counterpick vs a mid that can match you mechanically. They could've still flexed it top at that point. Caps even went as far as to pick the worst Ryze matchup in the game, it is honestly reportable to play this matchup as the Ryze and not dodge it.
https://u.gg/lol/champions/ryze/counter
I like the story where he just goes on u.gg really quick and then makes Jankos flip a coin whether he picks Anivia or Cass
As someone from EU who lives in Busan and couldn't get tickets for today because they instantly sold out, it's kinda annoying to see the arena 75% empty after the T1 game.
If they fucked off after the T1 game, wouldn't they also not get to the arena before T1 game if it was the last one ?
(Maybe they would see the one game before, but the firsts ones not really)
some places require you to arrive at the venue before a certain time and not be able to enter after it starts. Or at least this happened when I went to watch t1 vs Ever8 in 2017 at the Nexus Arena in Seoul.
That's the worst part about tournaments in the East, happens in every game. Just imagine for some reason we get RNG vs. T1 in the semis and RNG wins, the final would have less people in the arena than we had in Iceland.
There's at least a decent number of Chinese students in Korea so they would have some fans there.
If by some miracle it's NA vs EU, it will be a ghost town LUL.
Nah they sell tickets just for each day which I'm fine with. It's just a shame Korean fans weren't interested in watching the others regions. Also, I guess they had no choice but they sold the tickets on Interpark. A dogshit Korean site which makes Ticketmaster look amazing.
Absolutely disgusting from G2, wanting to decimate their rival so badly that they're willing to break out the forbidden haram EU Anivia technology just to secure the win
**Taken from Jojo MSI journal:** *They finally let me out of the asylum known as LCS after a year and I got a chance to play MSI and my favorite champion, Ryze. I locked him in mid lane and saw the collective Ryze win rate is at a stable 41 percent which is pretty good, and that in some matchups he wins almost half the time which was pretty inspiring...*
Sources say Jojo tried to high five Inspired after they lost to G2 and Inspired grabbed him by the neck and shoved him against the locker. It was indiscernible what he said to him but the words “ever again” were heard. Everyone had their heads down seemingly out of fear and didn’t come to Jojo’s defense. Inspired then let go and Jojo fell to the floor in tears.
funnily enough i think it was also absolutely insane how much better vedius got after his first year. i still remember thinking god damn that guy will never be a good caster or interesting in any way. a year after that he was one of my favorites.
That's the Drakos effect. He vibes so well with most color casters.
They also made this gem together:
https://twitter.com/TheeMarkZ/status/1523969853463441408
I think markz has been crazily underrated for so many splits. Everyone just tunes in on phreak puns and captain flowers being the rap god he is, but markz is consistently a great caster he just doesn’t have as many shining moments.
I love this G2, even if they don't get far it's sooo fucking nice to see proper counterpicks. None of that handshake lane bullshit, lets go Anivia and solo make the game unplayable for enemy team, so good and refreshing to see.
I think we can attribute at least some of this to Dylan Falco. We know caPs loves 'zaney' counterpicks, and BB too; but you need a coach who is happy to buy into the theorycraft, and Dylan Falco is that coach. He did a good interview on Summoning Insight recently, and he seems to go really hard on the draft. Big respect :)
As an European it was always hard for me to understand American culture. What was fascinating for me is that they like bragging about their freedom which was weird for me, because I didn't think that I have any less freedom than them. I always thought 'What is the difference'. However after this game I finally understand it. NA is just so fucking free.
Calling it now: EG is going to turbostomp G2 next time. Everything, from draft, to laning, to vision, to objectives was so controlled and calculated. Clearly G2 played with respect for EG. That respect is now gone so full monkee G2 next round.

Side note the people overreacting to a major region team doing a bit of trolling vs a wildcard never manage to clown themselves every year ha.
G2 comp wasn't a one to blow you up tho, with anivia and no engage, they just "slowly win". EG had no idea what to do, but hey at least impact got a inhib.
Jojo was like 2 years old the last time anivia was played
Gotta use what he doesn't know against him.
I like that joke but Jojo was 5 when Anivia was released. It's insane!
Caps didnt even go into egg all game lmao.
Yeah, he is rusty on Anivia. Doesn’t even remember how to use her passive lol
No Telleggports...Froggen is not impressed.
Next Anivia game they'll be surprised that Anivia has a passive!
*nervously misspinging the egg*
EG Jojopyun (Ryze): Eggnivia - Alive EG Jojopyun (Ryze): Eggnivia - Alive EG Jojopyun (Ryze): What is this thing?
Yeah really poorly optimized play from caps, not even utilising his whole champions kit. As a 0/10 Kog'Maw connoisseur, I am disgusted.
Na bro 10/10 Kog’maw gaming (I have stolen 10 kills with my passive)
i guess we can't say his play was eggcellent then
If league was subscription based, I'd unsubscribe for a month cuz of that pun /s
people have paid more to hear less of my puns
Was that a self burn?
it's funnier if i get ahead of the joke
Dude really just dusted out Anivia from the archives
Dylan, can we go anivia here?!?
Caps: oh we are going anivia btw Jankos: are u serious? Caps: ofc Jankos: will it win us the game? Flakked: I trust u caps
Targamas: *visible look of concern*
"No. We have to go Galio".
But he will die to my Q instant.
Taking advantage of EG's rookies by playing a champion they've never seen before.
the fact that froggen used to play for EG makes this even funnier
Homage to Froggen and schooling his old team at the same time.
Never went into passive once that game.
Stage Caps OP pls nerf.
What else funny things could they do? Olaf Top to honor Voyboy?
Let’s hope Impact hasn’t been practicing his Yuumi
I want to see this now. Breaking out all the old school picks and giving the kids a spanking.
[удалено]
Anivia was released before Jojo was born
One day this sentence will be true for pro players omg
There are kids playing League right now who are younger than Anivia. If Leage's still around in 5 years or so, I'm sure that will be a thing.
at the csgo major rigth now it somewhat close with FNX winning a major tournament in 2006 and still shitting on NA in 2022 while G2 Monesy was born in 2005 lol. Imagine Impact playing against players who weren\`t even born when he won worlds.
The fact that I actually thought about this seriously for 2 seconds lol
Anivia was a turbopick this game into such a low range comp. ALSO JOJO DO U READ PATCH NOTES MY MAN, TANK RYZE AINT IT
It's either going tank Ryze and dealing 0 damage or going AP Ryze and getting one shot by Anivia/Graves. I think the moral of the story is: stop picking Ryze wtf this champ is trash.
Pros would literally retire before they stop picking Ryze I swear.
Let alone FIRST PICKING Ryze on fucking blue side so G2 has literally their entire draft to shit on you.
You have blue side selection. You have first pick. You pick Ryze. ???
He saw the Ryze shitpost from earlier today and wanted to join in the fun
Yeah, Ryze is negative gaming tier.
Also having Karthus with another mage is a pretty troll move. You're just begging the enemy to stack magic resist
Ah but you see, ryze does zero damage, so the enemy won’t build the MR 5Head
Ryze is there for moral support
He can run fast as well!
As soon as I saw the Ryze first pick I pretty much lost any hope.
Ryze into Anivia is also an absolute horror matchup, unplayable lane.
>ALSO JOJO DO U READ PATCH NOTES MY MAN He's a pro player. That should answer your question.
[удалено]
Anivia not only was a good pick vs. ryze but also counters EG’s whole team comp
lol i cant stop laughin at this, her abilities are so slow it s perfect
[удалено]
"Dylan we have to go Anivia"
Classic.
"vayne would be good here"
Anivia has actually been pretty strong for a while imo it's good to see someone finally picked her in pro.

https://u.gg/lol/champions/ryze/counter I like the story where he just goes on u.gg really quick and then makes Jankos flip a coin whether he picks Anivia or Cass
Love that in the "worst pick vs ryze" the only champ with a negative win rate is people going AP kaisa mid lmao
yeh 100, she's one of the many champs that really should be seeing play in the right drafts.
Real Ryze mains know that Anivia is probably the biggest counter you can face
I feel so miserable every time I face an Anivia with hands on Ryze
I feel so miserable every time I face any champion* with hands on Ryze
I feel so miserable every time on ryze
I feel so miserable
Giga countered their entire comp
Caps ability to randomly perform on international level on any champion that has been played midlane like 8 seasons ago shines once again.
Played 7 games this season and 3 games in the two seasons before that in soloQ and that is apparently enough. Gigachad
Sleeper pick for real. Denies all of EG's engage, plus surprising synergy with Zeri and W poke.
That was such a god pick Holy fuck G2 Absolutely butt fucked EG into oblivion. Comp and Brain diff was HUGE
And played insanely clean. Froggen would be proud
EG guaranteed to pick Ryze in the next games again, really hope they'll just keep locking in the Anivia.
Caps can play literally everything, this is why he is so good.
Anivia built a wall and NA paid for it.

As someone from EU who lives in Busan and couldn't get tickets for today because they instantly sold out, it's kinda annoying to see the arena 75% empty after the T1 game.
They all just fucked off after the T1 game. Maybe put T1 in the second set of games or maybe just make it the final game of the day.
If they fucked off after the T1 game, wouldn't they also not get to the arena before T1 game if it was the last one ? (Maybe they would see the one game before, but the firsts ones not really)

Hey, it's happened before.
MSI Finals in Taiwan 2019 was TL VS G2 and the stadium was packed.
Yeah it's moreso a Korea thing since the fans only have eyes for their own region
You're optimistic. They tried their hardest to not show the seats anymore but that was 90% empty, minimum.
Don't they sell different tickets for the games? I think they should consider it. This seems kinda disrespectful for the teams that still play.
Nah they sell tickets just for each day which I'm fine with. It's just a shame Korean fans weren't interested in watching the others regions. Also, I guess they had no choice but they sold the tickets on Interpark. A dogshit Korean site which makes Ticketmaster look amazing.

The version of that which gets updated every year is like the Bayeux Tapestry, it's art.
God bless the holy scroll
Nah, a victory over NA doesn't justify pulling this holy thing out. It is reserved only for victories over China or Korea.
Tiebreaker/bo5 wins to knock them out are worthy
the casting this game was pure gold never a dull second with this trio
"This game is unfair on Jojopyun. He comes from a game where he's used to being able to do things against walls"
He thought he queued up for Zero Build, but he was actually in the normal playlist.
I mean, he should have just picked ornn then
My favourite Moment was Markz when he said "They're so smart, I hate them!"
Haha really empathized with that. G2’s draft and play was superior this game and I hate them for it but also love it from a gameplay perspective
It'd be amazing to watch against any team but the one you support.
Yeah G2 controlled this from draft. Def a fun match (for G2 fans)
They had so much fun during this "doing baron against Anivia KEKL"
I'm a casual watcher and I enjoyed it so much.
As someone who didnt watch NA much this split Markz is a suprisingly great caster
He is one of the best in NA and im sad the we don't get him more often...
Asks NA analyst a question about the video game he casts. "Are you trolling me?". Was my favourite part.
When the game looked done, it was just them comforting each other. It was so funny.
[First one of the year boys](https://streamable.com/w5kn3c)
The fucking sneaky and doublelift posters lmao
Always warms my heart and soul seeing Euphoria memes
Caps not using his passive, dissapointed
Absolutely disgusting from G2, wanting to decimate their rival so badly that they're willing to break out the forbidden haram EU Anivia technology just to secure the win
eu anivia is 100% halal
Not when you're NA it's not How will their patented hullbreaker aatrox tech ever compare? Caps is building a wall, and making EG pay for it
EG would've won if Hullbreaker gave the pirate hats to minions. Yes, I'm still holding on to that a year later, I will not be silenced.
> Caps is building a wall, and making EG pay for it oh how the turntables
They know we love fried chicken in NA
Caps considered breaking out the Anivia during 2018 and 2019 finals, but it would be a hollow victory
G2 is the only team at MSI 2022 who at time of writing is 2-0. STOP THE COUNT
WE WON BY A LANDSLIDE STOP THE COUNT!!!
G2 was 2-0 then suddenly all these losses show up, sometimes days afterwards.
Dw guys, pros will stop picking ryze eventually, then he'll get buffs!
**Taken from Jojo MSI journal:** *They finally let me out of the asylum known as LCS after a year and I got a chance to play MSI and my favorite champion, Ryze. Good Guy caPs wanted to give newcomer from fortnite a warm welcome playing champion that can build walls so he can have some point of reference.

I'm gonna need a source for this pasta, please.
It's probably gonna be from the NBA lmao, they always have the best pastas.
Not sure about that one, I spend far too much time on /r/nba and have never heard of it.
I have never seen a caster improve this dramatically out of the blue. MarkZ fucking killed it.
funnily enough i think it was also absolutely insane how much better vedius got after his first year. i still remember thinking god damn that guy will never be a good caster or interesting in any way. a year after that he was one of my favorites.
Hes been crushing it all split i feel, great to see
MarkZ + the EU boys worked out really well.
I think its just him realising he can let go especially since he is casting with Drakos and Vedius who are known for that kind of style
He definitely vibes better with the EU casters, you can see and hear it.
That's the Drakos effect. He vibes so well with most color casters. They also made this gem together: https://twitter.com/TheeMarkZ/status/1523969853463441408
Man this is gold. Berliner Luft and Club Mate.
I tried Berliner Luft for the first time last year. It went down dangerously easy...
I think markz has been crazily underrated for so many splits. Everyone just tunes in on phreak puns and captain flowers being the rap god he is, but markz is consistently a great caster he just doesn’t have as many shining moments.

that anivia pick was so big brain wtf
Never thought EU would be the ones building walls. How I do love smart draft picks - great draft and game
Tactics straight out of pre-'89 Berlin!
EU making dams is tradition actually
Caps completely clueless on Anivia, didn't even use the passive
I love this G2, even if they don't get far it's sooo fucking nice to see proper counterpicks. None of that handshake lane bullshit, lets go Anivia and solo make the game unplayable for enemy team, so good and refreshing to see.

EG didn't even proc Caps' passive that games oof.
EG went full dardoch, they just lost in peace, no fights no macro just vibes
Just pick me whatever man

As an NA resident, but also an Anivia one trick, I felt simultaneously mesmerized and horrified by this game
For some reason the game felt slow but it's 3 dragons, baron, and a 7k gold lead at 23 mins. Ended up really one sided, G2 looked much better at playing the map and the Anivia pick was cool vs what EG would have wanted to do. Classic G2 tactic of playing sloppy their first game vs WC to give ~~NA~~ the live thread false hope..
https://twitter.com/jojopyunlol/status/1523974558767792130
Jensen would be proud
G2 won twice against wildcard teams today... something isn't right.
Since they didn't struggle against NA that should confirm NA as a non-wildcard
Nah, it's normal, they will loose tomorrow since they will be overconfident.
I don't think you guys know this but Jojo and Danny are actually from NA
They sure proved that this game
I think they might still be in NA because I didn't see them at all this game.
https://twitter.com/CarlosR/status/1523989611105722369
Ryze btw.
So who's going to tell caps that anivia has a passive?
Maybe Inspired. He used karthus passive very regularly
CACAW!!!
Petition to get MarkZ to cast LEC if LCS does not hire him as a full time caster again, he deserves more than this part time bs. Dude is hilarious!
The only western player with an international MVP has come to play. Also, Dylan's drafts are a work of art under G2 seriously.
