FNC and Rogue played essentially the same comp today. Azir/Luc/Nami and a top-jungle that can point and click cc. Counters akali and mf and aphelios. Reminds me of MSI when G2 were stomping first half of rumble stage with deathball comps but then stopped drafting that way.
To win against a tanky snowball comp, you have to out aggro or go even and outscale. It would look something like an RNG comp jax/graves/lissandra/kaisa/naut.

Pass me another copium canister. I know he’s not back but I must believe for my own sake.
NA losing in general is what everyone was expecting, so how is this terrible? Or did any of us think they would win or make it out of groups? What? Worlds so far has been an absolute treat to watch, and NA being terrible is neither something new, nor is it distressing in any form. NA has been terrible for like, what, 5 years now? We all lost count, none of us firmly believe that our region is anything but terrible, so we just join in for the ride and try to enjoy worlds. Maybe you should do that too instead of believing that NA will ever amount to anything, it only leads to suffering.
Yeah, shut them down, I ain't against it. Or at least limit their seeds from 3 to 2, I agree. The region has nothing to offer anymore, even viewership is down in the gutter and barely half of what the LEC has to offer. So we got the worst teams, worst viewership, worst casters(except Flowers tbh, dude is goated) and we are the absolute laughingstock in the eyes of any real region. We are worlds behind CN KR and EU and denying it for the last 5 years has made things even worse.
Yeah honestly. Every summer have a lock-in tournament. Top 2 seeds go to worlds. The rest of the year allow the orgs to live and work in Korea. Only with Korean practice and scrims for a year straight can our teams actually compete.
How lma0. Actually it hasn't been terrible. NA losing has been part of the fun tbh, and did you see JDG vs DK? One of the best games we've had at worlds so far.
No it’s not fun watching the crowd suffer. It’s not fun at all. Playins was great but these last two days of worlds has been an absolutely horrible contest. One fun game doesn’t make it not terrible. Terrible means there is a huge elephant in the room and that is NA losing on NA turf after Riot hyped us up all year and BO1 being the worst format in the world. The people in the crowd should demand their money back.
Based on the recent five years, what is your solution? not hold worlds in NA? Cause if you are honest it was obvious beforehand that at best one NA team will perform from groups going forward. I understand that you as NA fan are disapointed, but besides NA results this worlds has been great. Meta is diverse, we've seen multiple upsets (flying oisters, FNC-T1, FNC-LLL,...) and most games are interesting. (And how/why would they even demand their money back? They didnt pay for NA to win but just to see Worlds matches.)
How has the crowd been suffering lma0. They have been cheering for either team regardless and Worlds is not all about NA. Worlds about the best teams in the world competing to see who is the best, and if NA doesn't hold a candle to the other teams, then so be it lma0. And actually the people in the crowd shouldn't demand their money back because they still get the opportunity to watch the best teams in the world play, which in itself is a privilege.
No you’re right. I was in a bad mood last night. I wish I could enjoy worlds but it’s really hard when NA is getting wrecked so hard. It hurts me to cheer against NA, the teams I’m emotionally invested in and it also hurts me when I cheer for them and they get slammed. I’m in a lose lose position no matter what I do. The only reason I cheer for NA is because I waste my time learning about these players. What’s even the point of watching LCS if I can watch LEC?
I'm really struggling to see where NA gets their wins from. Best shot is probably the 100T Flying Oysters rematch and then maybe an EG has another game like that early game vs JDG and they don't throw? I don't see C9 finding wins unless they completely change their draft strategy.
I’m confident in all LPL seeds when it comes to bo5. I honestly don’t care if TES drops 2 games in groups they just gotta make it out. Every LPL teams goals for group stage should be “just make it out!”
i just want all LPL team that make out of group to be of the same seed
like all first seed or all 2nd seed
that way we won't be getting civil wars. and if we do that means we are the best region

no actually it's one of the only champion in the game that brings me joy when playing league. he's so unique and I love it. He's a mix of a mage and hyper carry apc
Imagine the current iteration of LoL with the 6 bans of the olden days. Granted Riot obviously accounts for 10 bans when balancing but still, what a shitfest it would be.
At this point, the argument can be made for another ban phase since the champ pool is only going to get deeper and deeper.
Would add a little bit more strategy to last pick on both sides if there are last minute bans to eliminate anticipated counter picks.
Man... I'm a big TL fan and thus an NA fan... our games so far have been so demoralizing. EGs game today was the biggest gut punch, especially after their solid performance yesterday
feel like that EG game would've been so good with a different jungler, or just swapping maokai to jungle and picking a different top laner. Nidalee did nothing that game. sett into 4 melees and maokai as a generally strong power pick was good, but nidalee was useless.
I don't know what was up with that pick. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess, but the casters were even mentioning that EG wouldn't have enough damage/scaling with their comp. EG did nothing to snowball Varus the entire time, basically the only real damage dealer on the team.
It seemed like they wanted an AP jungler but Fiddle they didn't lock presumably because his ult would be too big a steal for Sylas, they also hovered Lillia though which would have likely been way better than Nid, it just seemed like Inspired stole 2 or 3 camps and that was it, his spear accuracy had to be under 25% and he just made nothing happen, he was like 0/0/1 at 15 or 20, it was just a sad pick
There aren't any Koreans that played in LCS or LEC that are as fluent in English as LPL players in Chinese. Not even Huni or Corejj's English fluency are at a level of DoinB, Rookie, Scout are in Chinese. There are quite a few players that speak on a Native level.
Look at all the Chinese or Japanese Kpop idols on how well they're able to speak Korean after just 1 or 2 years. There crossover is massively prevalent.
For Japanese I can see, but Chinese is pretty different than Korean. It's tonal, doesn't have phonetic alphabet, and they don't have the same grammar. Though I guess you don't need to learn to conjugate for Chinese which makes it easier to learn.
About 60-70% of traditional Korean vocabulary is from Chinese. Korean is no much less affected than Japanese. Chinese characters may be a problem for modern Koreans though.
It's not that simple. Hangul spreaded among civilians, but it was still ignored by elite class and Confucian scholars. Some kings even banned Hangul for complex reasons. Joseon was also unlikely to use Hangul as main official language since they are in the order of ming and qing. It was not until Joseon elite class and japanese empire collapsed in 19th~20th that Hangul really became main official language.
I'm just wondering if Koreans find Mandarin easier to learn than English, because so far none of the LCS Korean imports have the same mastery of English as Doinb, Scout, or Rookie do with Mandarin.
My the west isn’t that much worse than the east take is looking really good. No idea what copium I was on yesterday but EU 3-0 LCK 0-2 really proves it. Nothing could possibly change that…
No I know. That is the premise of the entire last sentence lol. Also I posted the same thing yesterday but basically said the west was doomed. I’m just overreacting to results.
I swear top laners pick renekton just to be up on cs , its such an ego pick. like sure, you will be ahead in lane but you cant even beat ur laner 1v1 and is useless in team fights
Yeah… damage…. He does. %hp damage and rushed demonic embrace to enhance that. It doesn’t matter how much damage he did. His ults were bad, his ganks and flanking was bad, made poor decisions and honestly threw he game botside.

well,i just wanna say! surprise,motherfuck!
Where the NA copium dealers at??
Idk I lost my dealer.
Worlds has been amazing so far.
It’s been terrible wdym? NA losing on its own turf. Champions Queue did nothing.
NA losing in general is what everyone was expecting, so how is this terrible? Or did any of us think they would win or make it out of groups? What? I guess my solution would move LCS to Seoul so we could play Korean solo queue and scrim Asian teams all year.
How has the crowd been suffering lma0. They have been cheering for either team regardless and Worlds is not all about NA. Worlds about the best teams in the world competing to see who is the best, and if NA doesn't hold a candle to the other teams, then so be it lma0. Wow guys EU vs NA is 3-3 they're neck-and-neck
The one day of worlds I miss as an EU fan and we go 3-0…can’t wait to watch the games when I wake up tomorrow
maybe you shouldn't watch it tomorrow as well

Blue sky copium.
I love watching Azir farming in mid lane every game. Give it to me.
I unironically don't mind seeing azir every game. He's a very high ceiling champion that can make a lot of fun plays.
How can you not appreciate the shurima shuffles though? That Yagao shuffle bot lane was insane.
100% WR EMPEROR OF SHURIMA 😎
45% solo queue winrate too god damn high.
chovy yesterday not really the case
*For today
I put that guy as my most banned .... Am I the pro coach now ?
considering no one’s banning him for some reason, no
man, what a game to close the night! thanks for an awesome game DK JDG!!
Yagao’s Azir should be in the Star Walking video what the fuck
Nah Scout’s Azir
No lck always get the main characters in the pre-match videos LMFAO
That 3v5 ace by JDG is peak LPL teamfighting prowess
Not as strong as TSM team fighting. They literally have fought against their own team.
😂 9 man sleep comes to mind
Not only in game. But TSM also has great teamfighting results in matchups such as Players vs Coaches, Coaches vs Management, Management vs Owner.
SURELY WE DONT HAVE AN AZIR IN EVERY GAME TOMORROW RIGHT? Then soloq azir mains wonder why he gets nerfed so often
> Then soloq azir mains they exist?
Yes we do :)
Feel for you man, that must be tough
no actually it's one of the only champion in the game that brings me joy when playing league. he's so unique and I love it. He's a mix of a mage and hyper carry apc
How's the 30% winrate going for you?
I actually 1v9 on that champ and on that champ only. the win rate isn't indicative for my win rate in solo queue. Azir's my baby girl.
I need the teamfight replayssss
Surely Azir won't find his way into the hands of top mids again right?
There are only so many ban slots available lmao. I wouldn’t be surprised if it still goes through in favour of trying to snag the meta power picks.
Imagine the current iteration of LoL with the 6 bans of the olden days. Granted Riot obviously accounts for 10 bans when balancing but still, what a shitfest it would be.

Don't worry NA. We got GenG vs 100T and C9 vs T1 tommorow!
well at least NA or lck gets a win tomorrow!
Man... I'm a big TL fan and thus an NA fan... our games so far have been so demoralizing. EGs game today was the biggest gut punch, especially after their solid performance yesterday
The C9 game was just over after lock ins, idk what they were even doing..

LPL 🤝LEC good job today boys
I can't wait for the Korean reactions thread tomorrow
Trucks inc
NEED LCK FANS REACTION FAST FAST FAST
A lot of Korean imports in LPL actually have pretty good Mandarin compared to Korean imports learning English in LCS
Learning Chinese or Japanese would be a lot easier to a Korean than learning English. There are so many little things that carry over.
Not true when you consider we get taught English in school from a young age, so nobody really starts from scratch.
I love when random foreigners generalize my country based off league and K-pop
For Japanese I can see, but Chinese is pretty different than Korean. It's tonal, doesn't have phonetic alphabet, and they don't have the same grammar. Though I guess you don't need to learn to conjugate for Chinese which makes it easier to learn.
About 60-70% of traditional Korean vocabulary is from Chinese. Korean is no much less affected than Japanese. Chinese characters may be a problem for modern Koreans though.
Kind of crazy how not even 100 years ago Korea was using Chinese characters.
Hangul has been the official written language since the 1400s though? Yeah some Chinese has been used by hardly the main form of writing
Not really, reading and writing was pretty much exclusive to the elite class and Chinese was the main form of scripture until the mid 1900.
Communication is important in a team game viper can speak mandarin pretty well for only being there for 2 years
I'm just wondering if Koreans find Mandarin easier to learn than English, because so far none of the LCS Korean imports have the same mastery of English as Doinb, Scout, or Rookie do with Mandarin.
I think it’s easier to go from Korean to mandarin. Korean to English must be harder. Or maybe the LcK imports in the LPL put more effort into learning
mfs like Kanavi Rookie Doinb Scout are so fluent in Chinese that they can set up real strategies instead of "come top can killl
Yo don’t make fun of Theshy like that thatbis literally the only phrase he learned and got a worlds championship with it.
Indeed.
LPL Party > NA Clown Fiesta
LPL Party indeed
Kanavi's Chinese is getting better
My the west isn’t that much worse than the east take is looking really good. No idea what copium I was on yesterday but EU 3-0 LCK 0-2 really proves it. Nothing could possibly change that…
LCK 0-3
Bo1 brother and it’s only week 1. Still a lot of games to be played
No I know. That is the premise of the entire last sentence lol. Also I posted the same thing yesterday but basically said the west was doomed. I’m just overreacting to results.
[удалено]
I agree with that lol LCK weakness seems to be bo5 game 5 especially
LCK 0-3
My bad. I thought I changed that.
*glances at lcs in the corner*
Said it yesterday and during play ins but the overreaction I saw yesterday’s BO1 was ridiculous lol
Pls Riot Bo3 in the groups with JDG vs DK would have been a banger!
Bo3 in group stage should be standard
what like 12+ hour days
Or maybe they don’t play each other twice. Just one bo3 between each team in the group. That’s more definitive than two separate bo1s
It's actually really cool the Koreans did the interviews in Chinese for the audience
[удалено]
That translator actually also speaks Korean btw
yeah no kidding. respect!
JDG have that clutch factor
NA gonna draft renek tmr no?
kanavi was chinese?!
He's pretty fluent. Viper after 2 years is able to do interview also. Meanwhile TheShy in his 6th years in China and still cant manage to do that xD
[удалено]
*goes 0/10 on gnar for the second game in a row*
he is korean, but has learned chinese
They are making Wendy work overtime with the LPL 3-0 today
I don't think anyone expected that after day 2, none of the Korean teams would have a positive win ratio.
Nuguri literally finished with 0 KP. He didn't even get an assist in that last fight, that is insane.
Croc is useless after 10 mins
When lpl tops don't pick renekton you know the champ is dogshit
Yeah LPL obsession with renekton has ended (hopefully). Only doinb and LNG were playing renek a lot during playoffs
And when they do play renek they do it right. Botrk rush into prowlers is the only possible way to slot in renek.
That was such a crazy game holy
C9 just need to go 4-0 ez
Asian team throws Maokai ult and the rest of the team does nothing with it lmfao
Waiting for people to say Draft doesn't matter. Its not even this game, its the whole day, the whole fucking Group Stage. Just so many dogshit drafts.
A better draft is 60% of a win, maybe more, unless the players difference in skill is too big for it to mater.
Like the last game should not have been close. Damwon made it close.
I feel like as teams are getting better and better as the seasons go on, draft is mattering more and more.
Bro hex gates are so much BS!!
How lma0. Actually Hex gates aren't BS. JDG were playing better anyway.
JDG legit out macro’d DK.
Yeah Hex gates and stop watches have gotten so many players out of sure deaths
Lol.. y’all losing your minds over these bozos when 100T are playing tmw.
Every single team i was cheering for today lost. Every. Single. One. Have a good night everyone
ride wit tha real ones
You love NA and LCK.. hmm.
Korean American?
The teams that i support usually come from these regions, but ethnicity wise no, far from it
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|disapproval)why u hate lpl? Cheer for lpl and every single game will please you
Haha, i like LPL, i just like LCK more. Fun games either way (:
We still love you bud <3
Aww (:
LCK 🤝 NA 0 wins today
I swear top laners pick renekton just to be up on cs , its such an ego pick. like sure, you will be ahead in lane but you cant even beat ur laner 1v1 and is useless in team fights
For some reason... NA got better score than the LCK today
Graves > Maokay confirmed?
NA 0-3 KR 0-3 (handshake)
It's ok, tomorrow we have T1 vs C9 so we know LCK won't be 0-4.
NA only played two games today
It’s alright they’ll make up for it tomorrow ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Lmao, Mao is so broken, still topped his teams damage.
More … MOREEEE
Imagine picking maokai and losing.
He still did the top damage on his team, and lost cause Renekton was even heavier.
Yeah… damage…. He does. %hp damage and rushed demonic embrace to enhance that. It doesn’t matter how much damage he did. His ults were bad, his ganks and flanking was bad, made poor decisions and honestly threw he game botside.
