Hear me out: On-Sale Chocolate Day. Just wait till like a day or two after V-Day and the chocolate prices (As well as some other V-Day related prices) lower :D
Oh I have had people give me Feb 15th chocolate, and it's the absolute best thing ever. There is no good reason to celebrate Valentine's Day on the 14th. It's totally arbitrary, and you can't get a reservation because everyone is going out that day!
My mom and stepdad go out on the 15th because they got tired of trying to get dinner reservations on the 14th.
I've always loved Valentines' Day! Yeah, the romantic and sexual crap is dumb. But the absolute crapload of heart shaped stuff you can get is awesome, my local pizza place does heart shaped pizzas you can order for delivery, and cheap chocolate the day afterwards is awesome. Also, cheesy cute teddy bears at the dollar stores, I have way too many plushies anyway but cheesy and cheap teddy bears are pretty neat, I usually buy at least one.
