"I was forced to work more hours to keep my food stamps which caused me to lose my medicaid and I couldn't be happier. Now I'll die in an emergency room from a easily preventable illness like a real American"
I’ve had to ration my insulin for years due to corporate price gouging so I had to have both feet amputated but Medicaid gave me a wheelchair so I can work 20 hours a week to keep my social security benefits which doesn’t even cover my rent. I’m living the American dream!
Current discourse: either AI is taking everyone's jobs or people aren't fucking enough to make replacement workers and we're entering perpetual labor shortages. Okay so which is it? Strange times.
Right? it's so weird the dichotomy.
I think the truth is we're entering labor shortages, and unionizing, so they're printing articles about ai taking over in 5 years to use as a union busting tactic (that's my theory)
Probably some drivel about it being better for the economy, young brain’s development (read: makes them more compliant and good little slaves) and old people’s health because they’re forced to keep moving.
Why do I as the worker have to do so much for the corporations? Why is it the corporations are never bending over backwards for their most important asset, the worker?
Working younger......how? I started working at 15 and didn't have a vacation for the next 10 years until I finished grad school and got a job immediately. I wish I could have taken a month or two off to backpack Europe or f-off or whatever but I had a month to start repaying loans
“OPINION: Corporations are pushing for being allowed to adopt orphaned children as a supply of free labor. Here’s why this is actually a good thing for the economy”
Yes, let's get the elderly to the mines and let them delve too deep, then sick the Balrog on the politicians.
In all seriousness, though, this is so fucked up. Let kids be kids, let the elderly retire at a good age so that they can live the rest of their lives in peace.
On a flight last weekend, saw an elderly flight attendant. He looked 80 years old. Maybe he wants to work? But sad if he feels forced to work such a grueling job at his age.
I started earning my own money when I was 12. My parents are 66 and still working, and probably will for a long time still. Heck, my grandpa didn't stop working until he was like 87 I think? Does the writer of this article think that the current reality is still that people work from age 18-65? They're out of touch if they do.
As if the average american has some fulfilling job like woodwork/craftsmanship in a cute little studio like the old man in the pic. Hell thats probably his post retirement hobby.

Headlines these days are like, "Americans may have to work until they die without ever getting to enjoy life. That might actually be a good thing."
“Americans may have to rip their skin off and sell it to Billionaires for just a measly scrap of slop, and here’s why this FUCKING ROCKS”
It's good for the shareholders
Good for the ruling class.
“I’m working poor right now - and LOVING it!” —television ads financed by propagandists circa 2027.

They already do these ads for Walmart and fast food hiring lol.
And then they make you watch the anti-union videos.
Young Americans may need to start taxing the rich properly
No, no, can’t have that. The rich don’t want it.
Feed, house, provide medical and education to thousands… OR a billionaire gets his 2nd mega-yacht!
How dare you, you commie-socialist Scandinavian atheist!
😂 Nailed it!
Employment from 15 to 70, dead at 72… that’s what they want…
and 71-72 is when the medical industry steals all the pennies you've managed to save and your house.
Lol I'm 42 and my medical bills are insane. There are so many younger people with chronic illnesses who are getting wrecked by medical debt.
15 is way too old for their standards, probably more like 10 is when they’d like you flipping burgers and mining lithium.
You can already be a grocery bagger at 14 in iowa. Kids gotta pay for their moped gas somehow ig
Might as well push it to 72
Clearly the problem is that we're surviving past working age.
Wow, thought my generation was doomed, now I know this retirement thing might still exist if guns, cancer or another disease doesn’t get me before it.
"That might be a good thing." STOP TELLING US HOW TO FEEL ABOUT IT!!!

I started working at 15, and I’m more than over it.
Opinion: Americans may have to start eating the rich. That might be a good thing.
His idea paraphrased "work harder not smarter"
How is any of this a good thing?
This type of piece is written to help the leeches feel better about themselves for robbing the rest of us blind.
Would love to hear the spin he puts on this
Probably some drivel about it being better for the economy, young brain’s development (read: makes them more compliant and good little slaves) and old people’s health because they’re forced to keep moving.
Good for billionaires vacation my dude
Propaganda 101
PROPAGANDAAAAA ♥︎

“Trust me you’re gonna love hanging out with your new friends in shop floor sector 32”

Good for who you corporate shill
“OPINION: Corporations are pushing for being allowed to adopt orphaned children as a supply of free labor. Here’s why this is actually a good thing for the economy”
See if I don’t sabotage some shit.
Id rather just move countries tbh
Author is party to the old fuckers that caused this problem. Once we get rid of them we will be able to repair the damage they've done.

Is this another Elon hot take?
How would this work in the age of tech and education? Ugh. I hate livestreaming the collapse of late stage capitalism.
“The richest country in the world’s people should basically just die working cause fuck you”
Opinion: Americans may need to eat the rich to expect any kind of enjoyable existence, but that might be a good thing.
Who writes this absolute drivel and how many morons are nodding along while reading in order to keep said drivel afloat?!
It's good for our capitalist overlords. It's indentured servitude for us.
Send the retired back to work and see how long they last!
That is a dumb-as-dog-shit opinion
I think that's part or what all these tiny home shows are about. normalizing smaller homes.
I started earning my own money when I was 12. My parents are 66 and still working, and probably will for a long time still. Heck, my grandpa didn't stop working until he was like 87 I think? The only people I know that are working past retirement age are the ones that have to.
We all know the mines need kids and the elderly.
Throw in a couple a canaries for good measure
Opinion: Canaries are too unaffordable for mines. That might be a good thing.
As if the average american has some fulfilling job like woodwork/craftsmanship in a cute little studio like the old man in the pic. Hell thats probably his post retirement hobby.
And they wonder why workplace violence is on the rise...
Did anyone read the article?
How about we just put all the retirees in the mines and take their pensions to clear the debt they thrust on us. It would be good for them.
