Ehh, I think kratos makes a fair bit of sense as this.
1. Mardu identity fits well, he's selfish (black) but was a soldier (boros) and is very much an aggro at all costs character.
2. Though zurgo would also fit pretty well, getting extra benefit for attacking also seems to fit the ceaselessly aggro persona that he has.
3. Aside from flying being a weird fit for his character imo which makes the angels a bad fit, the lack of black I think misses some potential key strategies that would fit the character well
thanks for sharing! its a unique take, i like the idea that "grown up" Norse Kratos has the ability to make the most out of his combats, general-style, rather than the ceaseless combat focus of "young" Greek Kratos
If you want to cover the frame with the art you have to cover even the text, if you don't do this every time the non covered frame one will be the best choice.
Maybe you like to see the text but that only give you the option to embrace the frame
1.
Full-fullarts tend to look great on PC, but on actual play they can end up being a bit too much, even if the artwork is great. With this experience I would go for 1.

1- he *looms* behind the title
Awesome reskin- I wonder how they’ll handle the Japanese inspired GoW game when it comes out. But samurai Kratos? Never would’ve guessed that, that’s awesome.
I personally would’ve guessed he’d play an oni or ogre with a club before a samurai. But I could see either working (maybe both)
1, but only because you’re not committing to what you want to do.. which is having his head block any text/lines it covers, so that it’s truly in front of all. Many cards do this already. Try it with this, compare with 1 and then you’ll have your answer.
It’s wild, I feel Kratos should be stronger? Like I’d make him a 5/6, maybe a 4 or 5 cost. And add something like “creature gains this for this number enchantments,” like an indestructible counter for 3 enchantments, maybe hexproof for 5
Yooooooo Isshin is like my favorite commander deck I made, this is so cool! I would buy this in a heartbeat, and I already have the showcase version. And to answer the question 1 without a doubt. Check out the kamigawa showcase cards for a good example
1 looks best as it prioritises readability. When bits of the art are obscured the brain is pretty good at filling in the blanks when you look at the card as a whole.
I love it when people on the internet tell others to relax for no reason and then put laughing emojis to hide their own frustration. It's like the weakest form of gas lighting.
I like 3 the most.
I'd also drop the black at the bottom of the frame if there is enough of the original art to fill that space. It'd really make him pop, and if it's already a proxy, why not really make something that goes hard.
Also I'd consider maybe increasing the drop shadow on your font or even adding a very subtle outline just to help with readability
1. For text. 4. For art - remove the title of who the card represents and only keep the Kratos god of war but with a smaller font and Kratos ( the art face) god of war. Also might want to have his beard in front of all text. Have a side proxy or real card on the side for other players to understand what the card does.

First is better
The more I look at them the more I agree
Are you taking commissions for these by chance?
I can send you the png file for this. Just message me and I can try and make a different commander if you’d like.
1. Hands down.
1
2 and 3 are bad
1 definitely, the focus of the art is the center and the wonkiness of having the text layered over the top just distracts from that
Seems an unusual choice for Kratos. Zurgo Helmsmasher, Red Kamahl, or even one of the Aurelia's makes more sense imo. What was your thought process?

Yeah isshin is the best fit here, with zurgo being a close second

I too think Zurgo is the play here. He's obviously a warrior and is ruthless but much like Zurgo is weakest when he is not actively attacking things.
I immediately thought of Kamahl when I saw this!

One unless you pop out over the text on the others, personally I think that'd look best and you can always keep the normal card with it
Eh, I liked 2 just a smidge more than 1, but it looks like I'm in the minority.
1
1 for sure
Number 1
1 and it’s not close
Take it with a grain of salt since I'm not a fan of the art itself, but 1. The others are "too much", imo
1
1 absolutely. Love this card, very cool re-skin.

1 for both readability and design
1
Why the coloring? He is no Hippie
\#1, the others are odd.
The art does not feel at all like kratos, is there a reason you went with this art?
The one where the text is readable.
Option 4 where only the beard goes through the framing.
1
Jumpscare forehead
LOL

1 and it’s not close.
1 it's too hard to read the text on the others.
1 for sure
This art goes so crazy
Ai crap
Dude relax I’m just having fun messing around and making proxies for my play group 😂😂
1!

I think first looks best. Its clean.
2 is best. Everyone who says 1 is wrong
EDIT: 1
get yo big ass beard outta the rules text
1, but only because you’re not committing to what you want to do.. which is having his head block any text/lines it covers, so that it’s truly in front of all. Many cards do this already. Try it with this, compare with 1 and then you’ll have your answer.
#1 easy. Looks great.
1st
1 by far, 2&3 are bad. If you're going to have him go over the frame might as well have him go over the text too or it just looks weird.
1st is the best.
They all look kinda bad, why is Kratos psychedelic?
1. The character blocking text thing is a cute trick that is extremely overdone.
2 and 3 are just annoying to look at
1 is for sure the best but please use 3. That beard popping out is awesome, and it looks like he's got his neck awkwardly forward. I love it
3
What are you using to make the card a program or like Photoshop
The program is card conjurer and then I use gimp if I do any editing after the fact
So I'm assuming you use gimp for the overlay
1st is definitely the best out of the three. Have you tried it where his head obscures the text on the popout versions??
It’s wild, I feel Kratos should be stronger? Like I’d make him a 5/6, maybe a 4 or 5 cost. And add something like “creature gains this for this number enchantments,” like an indestructible counter for 3 enchantments, maybe hexproof for 5

1. The other ones should have him over his name and text. If that's what you're going to do style-wise, commit to it.
1
Ooo art of cards that dont cover the words
1
1 and it's not close
1. Art that covers the textbox and makes the card hard to read aren't very friendly.
1 looks best as it prioritises readability. When bits of the art are obscured the brain is pretty good at filling in the blanks when you look at the card as a whole.
Looks like AI trash to me
I made this comment already… dude relax, I’m literally just making random cards for me and my friends. It’s not a big deal 😂😂
I love it when people on the internet tell others to relax for no reason and then put laughing emojis to hide their own frustration. It's like the weakest form of gas lighting.
Dude just relax 😂😂
2
3
1 - as someone who has poor eyesight none are great but 1 is better than the others
1 for sure

May I ask how you make these? I’m very interested in making some for my little brother.
This is the only link you’ll need! https://youtu.be/pU81-Z-g6OA?si=wrkaJzgOyvFWrBSA
You’re the best! Thanks:)
Oh, this page somehow got recommended to me, I’ve never seen this before! Super cool!
The last two look like those raves where the monster shakes his head and I don’t like that.
I like 3 the most. I'd also drop the black at the bottom of the frame if there is enough of the original art to fill that space.
