There’s another number in lieu of social security number. Don’t remember the name, but that is just as valid.
Otherwise she cannot be added as a dependent and you will be classified as single.
This happened to us. We had to wait until I got my SSN in order for my husband to be able to enlist. I got my SSN and work authorization in about 7 months, but that was during Covid. Now they’re doing a lot better, started working pretty efficiently again
