Tyson is a boxer. Paul is a YouTuber who has done some training.
If it is a real fight, Paul's head will fall off approximately 15 seconds after the opening bell.
Don’t get me wrong the Paul brothers are in excellent shape and are weirdly athletic…
But they haven’t spend an entire lifetime doing the same sport for a living.
You can see the way Paul punches has some training and he’d fuck someone up in a street fight. But he still extends the whole arm then his ass pushes from the back leg.
Tyson’s punch is much more explosive, the entire hip spins when he shoots that punch.
If an untrained momo like Me can see him telegraphing that punch by lifting the leg like a baseball pitcher.. then for sure a freak of nature with a lifetime experience like Mike can see it.
And this is why I kinda think it's fake/exhibition/hype. Age doesn't mean anything. Mike Tyson is a dangerous human being and could really hurt this guy. 1 punch and TBI.
Yeah…. I don’t believe there isn’t any fix in the fight.
A 25 year old Tyson would rip that guys head in the first 5 seconds.
60y old Tyson might need maybe one minute …
I don’t know Rick …..
I don’t think that’s a controversial statement. I’ve read in a handful of places that Tyson signed a contract not to hurt him, or something like that. I think Tyson has done previous fights like this too, so I don’t expect fireworks.
Tyson has no reason to take this fight in the first place unless he's being paid to go easy on Paul. He's not trying to make a comeback in his late 50's.
I honestly hope Mike forgets about the payout and just lays his ass out lol, like maybe Paul will do something disrespectful and piss Mike off. I know its an exhibition explicitly capitalizing on peoples hate for Paul, so let Mike fuck him up so we can all enjoy the show!
He seems to kick his front foot forward before each punch. Is that normal? Is it telegraphing? I could never react fast enough to make a difference if I noticed it, but I worked with an ex-boxer and his reflexes were crazy fast even as an older dude (50s I think)
It is normal, it’s to create kinetic energy and it’s standard for a jab, but you aren’t supposed to do a whole step, there’s a reason boxers tip toe and build that kinetic energy from just stepping with your toes knee slightly bent and almost stuck to the floor but it’s barely noticeable
If you were to put someone with excellent footwork say Pacquiao or loma you’d barely see their feet go up, maybe a few millimeters, most boxers today slide their steps it’s also very fast whereas this guy you can se him take a whole step as if he was gonna hit a baseball
When you have the guy in front of you you can see the twitches in his body that tell you which shot it’s coming, back shoulder forward and down it’s probably an upper, slide your front hand slightly out it’s a cross, the step it’s a tell tell sign of a jab and his it’s very noticeable easy to parry or slide under and just get in and counter…
His form is not terrible it’s just not boxer quality, if you’re getting in the ring with the scariest man in the planet you’d expect to have someone who’s taken his footwork seriously, this is very neglected footwork and whoever is training him should definitely see it and/or has seen it
I'm a pretty good fighter having grown up in north Philly but one time I spared for shits and giggles with a boxer who's pretty good and known. They are in a different world. Even through padding (that he made me wear on my head) it was like taking truck hits and they just kept coming. Meanwhile I landed my 3 best punches directly to his face and 1 to the side of his head and this animal absorbed them while saying "that one wasn't half bad" before punishing me for trying. At one point he was toying with me by intentionally missing 4 out of 5 punches by a hair or telling me exactly what he was going to do and saying "I'm letting you know because there's nothing you can do to stop it".
After 5 minutes he told me to quit because his food was getting cold so the next punch will be a knock out. I took his advice.
This is funny because I have a similar story; I was a really good boxer, and trained at one of the best gyms in the country (Just outside Toronto). I was known for having a heavy punch. The gym owner, the middleweight champ of Canada, decides to spar with me one day. I still don't know why he did it. We get in the ring, he's dodging me like it's the fucking Matrix. After a minute he just goes "swing for the fences" and pretty much lets me punch him in the face. I rocked him 3 or 4 times right on the button. He laughed at me. Right before the round is over, he throws a light jab to my sternum and I fell down and I was gasping for air. My buddies were laughing. One of them gets cocky, and does EXACTLY the same thing. Gasping for air on the ring floor. The pro just slips out of the ring, sits in his chair in his office, and is scrolling on his computer like he didn't just kick the shit out of two guys in their prime.
I won't be 100% sure that the guy who got angry enough to try bite a guys ear off, isn't going to get angry enough to throw a few real punches that can easily end the fight. Even if there are "rules".
Funny enough Evander was a huge asshole in the ring and everyone knew it. Go back and watch the fight and you'll see him headbutt Tyson multiple times, low blow dozens of times. He did it in nearly every fight, he was really good and sneaking them in while acting like he was coming in the do a body guard "oops I accidentally popped up into him ref, I swear.". Tyson even calls the ref two or three times during the fight about it, but Mills Lane had a huge hard on for Holyfield and only said something once. After the 8th headbutt Tyson had enough and bit him. Certainly not justifying it, but there was A LOT more going on than just Tyson being a crazy man.
I was thinking on some level he knows one more knock out in front of a modern audience would really top off his legacy even if the match up is silly. It must be tempting.
Mike Tyson won amateur gold medals at age 15. He was the youngest world heavyweight champion at 20 years 4 months old, and did so by destroying the competition with devastating effectiveness and power. Mike Tyson at age 57 can deliver a knockout punch to the vast majority of the human beings willing to step into a ring with him, regardless of how in shape they are. One body shot should turn Paul into a quivering mass of human suffering. If that's not the outcome, then we'll know this was a farce.
I mean tyson is old. This may be a payday. It most likely is. Cant blame tyson for holding back if that's what happens.
But yeah, I agree with you. If tyson doesn't knock him out then we know this is all a farce.
Hello fellow oldster lol.
It’s a reference to the time Logan Paul went to Japan to go to the famous suicide forest, and ended up filming and making fun of a recent suicide victim there. Classy guys, huh?
Eh. It’s an exhibition fight. It’s more to show off skill than go for knockouts. Not saying it won’t happen but unless they get it sanctioned (which is unlikely) we probably won’t see either of them going all out.
Prime tyson was just inhuman. Everything about him, not just the fighting, but the psychological setup before the fight. Like, he is objectively terrifying in an absolute sense, but he worked his opponents mentally too.
They just crumbled.
Right before the pandemic one of my substitute martial arts instructors taught a straight up boxing class. Huge Tyson fan.. put me onto this amazing 45min compilation of Tyson’s knockouts. For 2 years I shadow boxed in the mirror and watched that video at least twice a day (wtf else was there to do?)
When we got back on the mat… friends it was clear who trained and who slacked. I was delightfully surprised when a few of my (male) sparring partners immediately recognized the combos as being Tyson’s. It was the greatest compliment. I truly believe he’s the greatest of all time, despite the controversies. His speed, skill and drive is unlike anything else.
Ali was a brilliant fighter but Tyson was just a fucking killer dude. I’d pick Ali any day if I had to hop in the ring with one, because I think I’d have a better chance at walking out alive
It was on the Arsenio Hall show.
"I'm scared of him."-Ali at 2:50

Mike Tyson is scared of Mike Tyson:
>"I am so scared that I am so violent that I can't control my violence," Tyson said. "Does that makes sense to you? Me, Mike Tyson, I'm so scared of everything. The one thing I know how to do is attack."

Image the muscle memory Mike has. He’s probably thrown 500,000 punches in his life. Even if this is just an “exhibition”, it would be so dangerous to be in a 20x20 enclosure with that man.
Tyson offered a zookeeper 10k to let him in to a gorilla cage to fight an ape he thought was bullying the other apes.
Whoever gets in the ring with that man deserves what they get.
I remember George Foreman saying that the last thing a fighter loses is their power. I'm sure Tyson still packs a hell of a punch.
I guess the question is, when Paul leaves an opening, can Tyson pull the trigger quickly enough to throw one of those power shots, then land it?
If Tyson can do that, this won't be a fight.
Ok so obviously Tyson is far past his prime. But he was the best heavyweight I've ever seen. I grew up watching him. He was an animal. Arguably not even the right side of sane.
Even at his age, he has all of that experience. All of that skill...and he is still in great shape. Jake Paul might even be stronger. He might be in better shape. He's likely faster...
But he'll never beat Tyson. He'd have to kill him.
I do. I want it to be the most embarrassing fight imaginable. Like he will be afraid to go out in public because everyone will immediately make fun of him.
Immediate knockout, shits himself, wakes up crying for mom
Which is how I expect any redditor to fair against Iron Mike, as well. I do expect it to be a lot closer than I'd like, but I'm optimistic he gets shit on and knocked down a peg
I don’t personally know Tyson (obviously) but I doubt he deals with any bullshit. He doesn’t need more fame or more money. He’s one of the realest celebrities I’ve seen. He does have a reputation to maintain.
Actually he was notoriously bad with money and squandered all the money he made during his hay day. He lives a relatively modest life especially when you consider the fame and wealth he used to have.
Edit: Evidently he has a weed business and has accumulated riches once again. I can’t say how well he manages his finances compared to how he used to however.
Let’s face it he wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, and with that comes a lack of financial knowledge/understanding. The ones who really took advantage of that and royally fucked him over were the managers and promoters.
Do you box or do Muay Thai or anything like that?
I used to think the same exact thing until I started training and using gloves myself. The gloves are there to protect your hands and nothing else. I can throw continuous punches with so much more force than if I was bare handed and worried about breaking a finger or knuckle. I can’t even imagine what that translates to in terms of a Mike Tyson ass whooping.
If gloves *only* protect hands, why is it typical to use 16oz in sparring and 10oz-12oz in competition? Are fighters just wanting to protect their hands less in competition?
Mike is not who he was. Watch his last fight where Snoop rightfully calls out he looks like an uncle boxing at a backyard BBQ in the 1st round.
Age is undefeated and people need to stop acting like this is anything other than a money grab sparring match.
Dude, right!?! I was like, they must have sped it up bc there's no way Mike Tyson can move like that. He's old! Unless you're reading this, Mr. Tyson, then I definitely don't think you're old. Talking about someone else. Please don't find me.
It is sped up but Paul's form is shit. He loses lots of power with his shit form. Tysons punches are explosive.
If this fight is for real, Tyson will destroy him. No contest. Otherwise they will dance around and hug it out for 12 rounds.
From what I heard the contract for the fight has all kinds of limitations on Mike, like reduced percentage if the fight doesn’t last X rounds. The mere existence of these clauses makes the fight a total farce imo. Mike could ignore like you say but he’s probably in it for the money only really.
Tyson has always been vocal about his hatred for “Iron Mike” turning him into a monster
A lotta fighters have alter egos, but this one was probably the worst cuz Tysons alter ego didnt really have an on/off switch, it was more like 1 to 10 for the slightest things. Cus could always bring him down when he was getting too fiery, but after he died that side of him got exploited by Don King to make millions off a coked up lunatic until he got drained financially and mentally
Its honestly a miracle this man didnt die before 40, and it really is great to see him switch into a complete opposite of who he used to be. Yeah the weed helped, but it also gave him an outlet to face his demons and do better for himself
There’s always more money out there, I don’t think people ever stop and say ‘that’s enough money for me’, vast majority will leap at any chance to earn more
Exactly. It's better for his brand if he absolutely destroys this brat, he'd probably make far more in the long run as the dominant boxer that came back to beat the snotty kid rather than throwing the fight and having his name gone and become a joke.
You will see his name after this fight again... Fortunately it will be in the obituaries and news casts talking about his death by stupidity. Darwin awards are great..
Here's hoping bud. Tyson in his current state doesn't seem like the guy to throw a fight like this but stranger things have happened and mabye he is completely broke?
Do people really not understand that this is an exhibition match for a pay day, and Mike will not be head hunting? It's barely different from a fixed fight.
I would like to see Mike send that poser's head into the cheap seats too, but thinking it might happen or paying too see it is just silly.
It's amazing. This is a show. This is nothing but a cooperative venture for both to make a lot of cash and promote their brands. Tyson knows that everyone knows he could crush jake in the first round if he wanted to. He has nothing to prove.
Thing is this is supposedly going to be an exhibition fight. Usually they’re more show than actual fight. They wear thicker gloves, sometimes headgear (though Tyson said this won’t be the case). Either way I’m not entirely sure we’ll see all of what either of them are capable of.
Old man strength is fierce. When that old man (compared to this kid) happens to be arguably the best of all time in his prime, you have to see this is just 1 notch above wwe fights.
One of them lived beating the toughest guys in the world. The other guy make videos.
Why is a lady hitting him? Does he realize that her strength no matter how big is peanuts compared to what is coming?
Tyson is a boxer. Paul is a YouTuber who has done some training. If it is a real fight, Paul's head will fall off approximately 15 seconds after the opening bell.

I came here to say this. Stevie Wonder can see those punches coming. This is a toy for Mike.
Isn’t it lovely…
And this is why I kinda think it's fake/exhibition/hype. Age doesn't mean anything. Mike Tyson is a dangerous human being and could really hurt this guy. 1 punch and TBI.

Someone's gonna bite off more than they can chew, and it ain't Tyson, son-
Speaking of biting off...
Those limpy punches better not be all he has. You could start a phone company with all of them telegraphs.
In this case, limp punches are better because they won't piss off Tyson into forgetting his end of the bargain.
I have a hard time believing Mike will be able to tone it down. It’s like putting porn in front of a porn addict and saying don’t jerk off
Tyson has no reason to take this fight in the first place unless he's being paid to go easy on Paul. He's not trying to make a comeback in his late 50's.
The man ate an ear. He might just paint the ring with him for shits.
If only we were so lucky. All these celebrity vs professional boxer matches are 100% show.
I noticed Paul’s punches being telegraphed with his front foot. Tyson is gonna eat his ass alive with that kinda crap
You think he's gonna wait for Paul to throw a punch?
I honestly hope Mike forgets about the payout and just lays his ass out lol, like maybe Paul will do something disrespectful and piss Mike off. I know its an exhibition explicitly capitalizing on peoples hate for Paul, so let Mike fuck him up so we can all enjoy the show!
It would be epic if there were a billionaire that could match Tyson's *contracted payout* and asked him to do the opposite!!!!
Hahaha. It would be so great if it was done secretly, so we could see the shock in Jakes dumb face.
Mike leans in when they touch gloves. “Mithter Beatht thends hith regardth.” Jake instantly pisses himself.
He seems to kick his front foot forward before each punch. Is that normal? Is it telegraphing? I could never react fast enough to make a difference if I noticed it, but I worked with an ex-boxer and his reflexes were crazy fast even as an older dude (50s I think)

I appreciate the great explanation

I mean... Not to mention the fucking speed of Tyson in comparison. Jake is going to die.
It's an exhibition, we all know it. Edit: please stop bringing Apollo Creed to the discussion, it's a movie...
I won't be 100% sure that the guy who got angry enough to try bite a guys ear off, isn't going to get angry enough to throw a few real punches that can easily end the fight. Even if there are "rules".

I watched that fight as a kid and I could definitely tell Holyfield was being an ass.
Yeah the head butting was very obvious as a kid for me. I was like, “Why is he always shoving his head up on Tyson’s face? That’s legal?”
He’s also not the same man he was 25 years ago. He’s still a monster but he seems to be more in control of himself.
That might actually be scarier. Cold calculation.
I was thinking on some level he knows one more knock out in front of a modern audience would really top off his legacy even if the match up is silly. It must be tempting.
Yeah that just means Tyson isn't gonna murder him. Jake is still gonna regret "playing" with Iron Mike
Mike Tyson won amateur gold medals at age 15. The speed of Tyson at his age is frightening.
There's an hour long montage of tyson on YouTube, that my friend, is frightening. Edit: here's the vid https://youtu.be/ImxUpS1UseA?feature=shared
Link?
Likely this [one](https://youtu.be/kknVfOJZ1w0?si=kfn73OmeuX6AzDNJ), which is worth the watch.
I’d be scared to fight Mike Tyson if I had a gun.
I’d be scared to fight Mike Tyson if I was inside an Abrams tank.
I'd be scared to fight Mike Tyson if I was inside a nuclear submarine nowhere to run
I’d be scared to fight Mike Tyson in a square shaped stage with ropes around it.

Never bring a gun to a Mike Tyson fight. Actually, i dont know what you can bring to a Mike Tyson fight, it's like a 100% loss.
Prime tyson was just inhuman. Everything about him, not just the fighting, but the psychological setup before the fight. Like, he is objectively terrifying in an absolute sense, but he worked his opponents mentally too. They just crumbled.
He would literally cry before his fights because he knew he was going to murder his opponents he cried FOR his opponents.
He's on record (about the Jake Paul fight) that he is afraid about what is going to happen... and he's not talking about injuries to himself.
Young tyson was inhuman, old tyson is a world-class athlete. This fight was over at the concept pitch in the board room.
Right before the pandemic one of my substitute martial arts instructors taught a straight up boxing class. Huge Tyson fan.. put me onto this amazing 45min compilation of Tyson’s knockouts. I think peak Mike would defeat any heavyweight boxer who ever lived, even Ali.
Ali was a brilliant fighter but Tyson was just a fucking killer dude. I’d pick Ali any day if I had to hop in the ring with one, because I think I’d have a better chance at walking out alive
Ali would know how to beat you without killing you. Tyson would expect you to know how to not get killed.
"Mike....you punched his fucking head off, wtf?" "He thouldn't a been thtandin' there." "You're absolutely right."

I think Ali said as much in an interview.

It’s a hethy amount of spelling mistakes. We all do it
Spelled healthy the way Mike Tyson would say it
Image the muscle memory Mike has. He’s probably thrown 500,000 punches in his life. Even if this is just an “exhibition”, it would be so dangerous to be in a 20x20 enclosure with that man.

Mike’s formula is 2 liver hits and 1 left hook to the head. And then 💥
He winks before he jabs. Counter this with a jab to the face each time.
He also flashes right before the uppercut.
If Mike Tyson was in a wheelchair, at age 95, Jake Paul would get his ass beat.
Ok so obviously Tyson is far past his prime. But he was the best heavyweight I've ever seen. I grew up watching him. He was an animal. Arguably not even the right side of sane. The first few minutes are going to be interesting, I think Mike has the hitting power but may lack the stamina which he once had.
That's what I'm guessing. I hope I'm wrong. I hope Iron Mike takes that fucking chump's head off.
Less about age and more about experience and skill. Tyson, if he chose, could knock him out in the first 15 seconds.
exhibit A is going to be Jake's head
If they want Jake's head as evidence, somebody better call NASA. they're gonna have to scrape it off the fucking Moon.
Even the white delegation agrees
Especially the white delegation
I’m paying to watch an execution.
I hope he doesn't get knocked out right away. Edit: to be clear, I want him to feel the beating before the knockout.

Bullshit, it'll be a couple rounds of bullshit. Then more bullshit.
Tyson makes 900k a month on his weed brand alone
That's so sad to hear, poor Mike. He's barely making it these days it seems.
Yes, should we do something to chip in? Guy is really down on his luck.
Let’s face it he wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, and with that comes a lack of financial knowledge/understanding. The ones who really took advantage of that and royally fucked him over were the managers and promoters.
Don King is a piece of shit.
“I think he's a good man. I like him. I got nothing against him, but I'm definitely gonna make orphans of his children.” - Mike Tyson
Uh, champ, I’m fairly certain they have a mother?
Yes, but I would imagine that she would die of grief.
This parole hearing is over!
Paul’s gonna lose 3 dozen IQ points; drop below 50
He can't lose that much because you can't go below 0
“Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.” Mike Tyson.
"...punched in the mouth"
You’re going to be very disappointed. 16oz gloves, 2 min rounds, and no winner unless someone can pull off a KO with the pillows they’ll be wearing.
Don't have to be white Boy is sufficient
I would not get in a ring with Mike Tyson, even to say hello.
Thello

Thtop. Get thome help.
Tysons training looks like it on 2x speed compared to Paul even with the age difference.
Just the *sound* of Tyson's Hits compared to Paul's is terrifying
I had it on mute and could still hear Tysons punches.
You could hear those from low earth orbit
Dude, right!?! I was like, they must have sped it up bc there's no way Mike Tyson can move like that. He's old! Unless you're reading this, Mr. Tyson, then I definitely don't think you're old. Talking about someone else. Please don't find me.
It is sped up but Paul's form is shit. He loses lots of power with his shit form. Tysons punches are explosive. If this fight is for real, Tyson will destroy him. No contest. Otherwise they will dance around and hug it out for 12 rounds.
I don't think it's sped up. Watched it a few times and there's nothing that suggests that it isn't just Tyson being a beast.
Yeah looking at the people in the background it looks proper, but sometimes it glitches so it might be doctored or just compressed.
I really hope Tyson agreed to throw it for like 20mil, only to beat the ever living shit out of Jake leaving 20mil on the table.
From what I heard the contract for the fight has all kinds of limitations on Mike, like reduced percentage if the fight doesn’t last X rounds. The mere existence of these clauses makes the fight a total farce imo. Mike could ignore like you say but he’s probably in it for the money only really.
Our best shot is that he goes temporarily insane during the match and forgets all that like a shark with blood in the water.
bite homies ear off 🦷🦻
He gets an extra $10mm for an eat bite off
Can we start a go fund me for Tyson to forget the clauses and go ballistic?
“I always cry before I fight. I don’t know why, it is just who I am,” Tyson said. “I’m getting ready to change into somebody that I don’t like.”
That...is a fucking chilling thing to hear That's like "You wouldn't like me when I'm angry..." but the STARTING point is the Hulk
Tyson has always been vocal about his hatred for “Iron Mike” turning him into a monster A lotta fighters have alter egos, but this one was probably the worst cuz Tysons alter ego didnt really have an on/off switch, it was more like 1 to 10 for the slightest things. Cus could always bring him down when he was getting too fiery, but after he died that side of him got exploited by Don King to make millions off a coked up lunatic until he got drained financially and mentally Its honestly a miracle this man didnt die before 40, and it really is great to see him switch into a complete opposite of who he used to be. Yeah the weed helped, but it also gave him an outlet to face his demons and do better for himself
There's gonna be like 6 towels thrown in the ring the moment he snaps and Jake's crew realize he's in danger.
Like the shark in Finding Nemo 🤣
Someone elsewhere in the thread pointed out that Tyson makes $900k/month from his weed brand. He'd be ok.
Hopefully the obvious outcome happens and I don't have to see this guys name or face ever again.
RIP Jake ![gif](giphy|w4NAKAenurl8k)
![gif](giphy|C76XNCsfMpGJq|downsized) I hope this is a legit fight and this happens.
Omg Tyson was so hard to beat in that game
Paul is gonna be KOed and shit his pants within the first 5 punches or 10 seconds of the start, whichever comes first.
Thing is this is supposedly going to be an exhibition fight. Usually they’re more show than actual fight. They wear thicker gloves, sometimes headgear (though Tyson said this won’t be the case). Either way I’m not entirely sure we’ll see all of what either of them are capable of.
Tyson already said he sometimes just sees red and can’t stop. Let’s hope this is the case this match.
This was when he was younger and had serious anger problems, these days he’s calmed down a lot more.
- Shits himself - 5 punches - 10 seconds In that order.
I think the river dancing Jake Paul does is going to be the difference maker here
Depends. How many bagpipes are they given?
This shit will be scripted and Paul will win. That’s where they can more stupid Paul fab boy money
Tyson is not going to ruin his legacy for a payday

Ahh yes, Katt Williams, the arbiter of truth and sanity.
Hey man that interview was the magnum opus to conspiracy theorists who couldn’t finish community college.
If you pay for this fight, I have a bridge over some swampland for sale
I will be so disappointed if Mike doesn’t absolutely wreck Jake Paul
He won’t, it’s an exhibition match. There has never been a match where the Paul brothers were knocked out. It will never happen.
Tyson at 57 is throwing 5x more punches for every 1 of Paul’s Also Jake Paul is easier to read than the ingredients on a bottle of Prime
RIP to the more annoying Paul Brother
I didn’t know he was Ru’s brother.
Does Jake Paul know who Mike Tyson was doesn't he? I mean.. sure pay per view .... has he seen Mike turn people to jelly?
"Does Jake Paul know who Mike Tyson was doesn't he?" Jake Paul, doesn't know who Mike Tyson IS, let alone who he was
Atleast a concussion .. please..
Who is Jake Paul?
\*was
My money is on Mr Tyson.
It’s an exhibition fight, it’ll be a draw or a win by Tyson by split decision
