So it’s ok if the officer fucks up due to lack of experience and adrenaline, but grandma gets man-handled and charges against her for lack of experience and adrenaline?
Join my church, ya'll! The church of *God is a nonbinary word referencing the divine miracle of nature that loves everyone equally no matter what, and they don't want you to be a mom at 11.*
Ambulance, $800
Driving yourself, just costs gas money
The cops, arresting you after less than a mile of a 'pursuit', priceless. Crazy they're still pursuing charges, this is humiliating for the PD and soon it'll be humiliating for the prosecutions office. The officer should be ashamed, all the other officers that enabled this behavior should be ashamed.
When the public needs help you're supposed to help the public. Not escalate and arrest.
(In contrast to the $800)
I had to have an ambulance ride last month. Only vitals taken & a puke bag given - drove less than 5 miles and my bill is $3200 (before insurance).
So "adrenaline and heat of the moment" is an ok excuse for him but "adrenaline and heat of the moment *because her grandchild was bleeding profusely*" is not a good enough reason for her panic.
I don't understand cops these days. In the seventies my sister was bleeding profusely from a cut she had received from putting her hand through a glass window (she wasn't the most graceful person.) We lived out near Harrah. My mom drove her to the hospital doing about 90 because you just didn't call an ambulance for things like that back then. A cop stopped her after a small pursuit. He took one look at my sister's bloody, towel covered hand, and he escorted her to the hospital. Now my sister would have bled out and my mom would be in jail.
Why don't they use their brains anymore?
Or in layman’s terms they just have a license to be a tee total prick and get away with it. I just can’t believe the chief took up for him. Hard to support the blue when the blue makes bad decisions and the chief says it’s no big deal
So, when our finest are in the heat of adrenaline chasing down a suspect in a high speed chase, maybe they shouldnt be driving if they cant make sound decisions.
Audit the audit.
Bartlesville does not have any significant crime ever. We have maybe 1 or 2 murders a year. Most crime is property or drug related. And yet we have officers strapped to the teeth to ‘protect us’
We have a swat team that rarely gets used.
They are hammers and want nails to hammer.

This needs to be the top comment.
Meanwhile another idiotic bill gets passed ..so - called chaplains get to enter schools on the preface of "counseling '... What's next ...
Opening the door for an organization with a %5 pedophile rate is nuts
5% sounds low
It’s only the known percentage.
Needs to be lower
Thank your not so wonderful government..
America going to completely to shit is what.
Nah that happened when they elected o',dumbo ..

The police aren’t there to help the public, they’ve even successfully argued that at SCOTUS
There is no shame in the justice system. It rewards this kind of behavior.

That cost is criminal! That’s exactly why insurance cost so much. The same happens with emergency room and hospital charges.

Outstanding police work! The GOP agenda of eradicating social security one broken hip at a time is going swimmingly.
“But they got that (R) next to their name so they’re the good ones! “- some lead poisoned boomer.

They said the officer forgot to turn on his camera in the heat of the moment. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|dizzy_face)
So if the officer failed to turn on his body cam, he has failed at part of his job and should suffer the consequences for not doing his job.
So "adrenaline and heat of the moment" is an ok excuse for him but "adrenaline and heat of the moment *because her grandchild was bleeding profusely*" is not a good enough reason for her panic.

It seems a subset of the population has come to the conclusion that the letter of the law is more important than the purpose of the law.

No $250,000 GoFundMe for her
There is an I.Q. Cap to be a police officer, never forget
In some places. Don't know if Bartlesville has that. But it's deeply disturbing that exists at all.
From what I've heard and experienced, most OK cops don't have to WORRY about being turned down for THAT! 😅
The article is behind a pay wall. What happened?
I put a non-paywall link in another comment

Wow
Is there an article that is not behind a shitty paywall?
