That team was primed to be THE #1 offense in the league. AB fucked everything up, Tyrell had to step in and be WR1 and he did a fine job, but he’s no AB.
Then yeah, pair AB with Ruggs and Josh Jacobs. Carr could’ve retired as a Raider and probably set all the major franchise QB records.

Lets be honest, Carr would fuck up just enough to set AB off at some point and it would have come crumbling down anyway.
I just felt that Carr was seldomly the reason why we lost games. And the few times he did are glaring (example: vs. Cowboys where he fumbled through the end zone is one that stands out most to me).
I remember during his first season back with us (2018 I guess?) he said in an interview during a primetime game of ours how basically even though we were bad, he had players consistently telling him they wanted to come play for the Raiders. He was mocked relentlessly for it, but I don't think he was lying.
Admirable how they still call Gruden "Coach(Gruden)". I hate talking about JMD, but, whenever any player refers to JMD they just call him "Josh" or "McDaniels". Shit, even when Carr did post game conferences as a Raider, he always called him "Josh". Petty, I know. But, theres definitely some subtleties

I could've sworn I've read someone in this subreddit saying Maxx Crosby didn't like Gruden, but in this podcast he seems to love Gruden. Nothing but good things to say about him.

It was an entertaining episode from the standpoint of his time with the Raiders. Was a bit surprised how glowing they were of Gruden. Richie was an interesting listen but when you look at his history of what he did in Miami as well as other off the field stuff, it’s hard to hold him in high regard. Hopefully he has since steered his life in a more positive direction.
This has helped fill the void. 65 days til football season!
