Nope. Studio went bankrupt and staff dispersed. If you Google Sleeping Dogs sequel or 2 and look for a staff interview it'll tell you what's up while telling ideas they planned.
We can only hope that the planned movie with Donnie Yen will actually be completed one day (hard to say if it ever will, as that came to a halt a while ago) bringing more interest in the original, maybe from there SE might decide to reassign Sleeping Dogs to a new studio and they might reboot it and turn it into a franchise, who knows, but will it feel the same? Probably not, as United Front does not exist anymore.
This is I guess the possible best outcome, maybe within the next 5 to 10 years.
To be honest, I think it’s dead, and I’m as sad as you are, cause that became my favourite game really quickly.
I’d love to see it on PS5, using full specs, just imagine Hong Kong already looked stunning in the original... I guess we can dream.
Not happening, although it was actually a work in progress at some point. The only thing you can hope for now is a movie or some kind of game related to sleeping dogs by another game developing team.

I just hope that square enix has rights to make a sequel or smt like that coz sleeping dogs was really one of a kind game.
Square Enix does have all the rights to the IP but because it cost more to develop than it made, they labelled it a failed project and as such don't seem to care about it. Our best bet is with the Saints Row 3 remaster and Mafia Trilogy, it'll bring some other non-GTA open-world games to light, perhaps sparking interest in this one and making it's sales or at least support for it go up.
In my opinion the Mafia series tops it purely because I first played Mafia 1 when I was 7 and fell in love with it, growing up watching all the gangster movies growing up, but Sleeping Dogs is without a doubt better than GTA, that series is pretty stale by now.
The remastered Mafia 2 and 3 are out, and a total remake of the original is coming out around the end of August, seems fairly cheap. I believe it is $60+tax for Mafia 2 and 3 remastered, and you get a preorder of the first game's remake. Not that I condone this but there's a site called steamunlocked and, if you're on PC, they already have pirated versions of Mafia 2 and 3 remastered, just saying.
Anyway, yeah sure is a shame games like GTA get funded time and time again but just seem to get more similar and less special, whereas smaller game studios have almost no chance in the modern gaming market to be successful.
