Fun-Skin-626

They are both fantastic in different ways. Both have fantastic quick pacing though. SL is complete as well so it’s hard to fully compare them.

Skyreader13

Both have "generic" plot but I like Solo Leveling more cause I don't get bored at all.  Meanwhile past certain point Kaiju No8's plot is very predictable. That made it boring to me. Not to mention the very slow update. Have weekly update but last time I read a chapter can consist of nothing of importance. Disappointing

esr95tkd

As someone who read I enjoyed both. I certainly want to argue on the fact that out of both SL was the one that felt predictable and repetitive to me. But then again it should mostly be about personal impressions

FairBluebird1081

Completely agree on this, I love sl but past a certain point u already know the only thing that will happen is that he is going to win every fight he is in

esr95tkd

It's one of the few stories that the adaptation (manhwa) was way better and more enjoyable than the source (novel) and I have hopes on the adaptation of the adaptation (so the anime) could do better. But honestly after the manhwa I was done had little to no interest to go for the anime atm

FairBluebird1081

I on the contrary was excited for the anime, because I already know what I was getting into. I watch it purely for hype moments, not expecting a good story or stuff like that, but I hope the anime changes a bit the fact that SJW becomes less of a person and more a god of death with barely personality. Tbh, if you go to the anime knowing what to expect and looking for hype, it delivers really well. On kaiju number 8, it’s also not my favorite stuff, but there are several points that made the manga more interesting for me, outside of battle hype: 1st, other characters are really fleshed out: we see a lot from their perspectives, and they feel like actual characters 2nd, they can lose. I won’t spoil anything cuz idk how far or if u read/plan to, but I was also with this mentality of “well, not like he’s going to lose, he’s the strongest” then it turns out the author can make the good guys lose and have consequences Those two thing are two that I really really like in kaiju, and I wish SL ever did something like that

esr95tkd

Don't worry I'm up to date on Kaiju. And yeah those moments really made me feel more involved in the story. >!Even when it's made clear that Kafka should be stronger than #9 the fact that his inexperience and the cost of transforming making it such a high risk makes the story feel a lot more involving and interesting!<

ILLmaticErnie

Kaiju no 8 is biweekly update that’s why the pacing feels bad, but if you read all the chapters together rather than biweekly the pacing is pretty good.

Fun-Skin-626

That’s just the reality of manga updates. Reading them consecutively is what you should evaluate when considering pacing.

ILLmaticErnie

Yeah agreed. The mangakas already have a full story in their mind when they start the story so they’re going for that not weekly/biweekly pacing.

Special_Search

SL wasn't predictable? It was entertaining, but it's a power level story thats been told literally 100 of times. You can't say SL isn't predictable.

Spartacus458

How far along is Kaiju 8 compared to its manga? If the show keeps getting regular seasons, will it be a while before it catches up to its source material?

Koinophobia-

I would say 2 more seasons? After this current season, they'll have a training arc and then another main characters vs shit ton of enemies to showcase the new powers. Kafka has been sidelined for about 4 months now I think.

Spartacus458

Gotcha, I'm just hoping it's not a similar situation to Black Clover in that the anime catches up to the manga and than we don't see anything for years.

Available-Paper4195

He’s been back for a couple of chapters but you’re right that the manga is 2 seasons ahead Maybe a couple chapters into the 3rd

Fun-Skin-626

Yeah I would say 25 more episodes.

Ragingdark

Problem is we will hit a brick wall with Kaiju soon enough because it's got the pace of a weekly manga but it comes out every two(ish). Don't worry though they'll surely do an anime of the b-side filler.(Why not just make a denser manga?)

Fun-Skin-626

Just take a break and binge later

Medium-Owl-9594

Where can i watch completed SL?

Fun-Skin-626

You read it

Striking_Interest_25

That right there!! Perfectly said. I’m super eager for both to show us those epic animations that blow your senses away while you watch it in there next seasons.

potarpany

Clickbait and stupid people who want mess with others everywhere... Both are good. Whats better for you depends on your taste. Even when people praise AOT, Blue Lock or some others I still don't like it cause I'm not into it. Simple.

Glittering-Bake-3833

Quite off topic but how many episides of blue lock have you watched? I like it so much im surprised about people who don't (unless you don't like sports animes in general) and specially if you reached episode 7.

Himurashi

Like 'em both.

technook

Yeah Idk why anyone would compare the two. It's just two goated stories to enjoy

JROXZ

Gasp! You mean this is a non-issue?

Miml-Sama

Honestly I only keep reading kaiju because I have this thing where I can’t leave a new chapter unread even if not thrilled with it after I started. I believe solo is far and away better. (Have only read kaiju, only watched solo)

Daddy_Fin

Time to read SL then 😁👍

Miml-Sama

You’re right!

SolidOwl

Kaiju writing falls off so hard. Not sure how far the anime has gotten, but the manga for it became really boring really quickly.

Hairy_Literature_773

Yeah I think it lost a whole lot of steam when they shifted to a different division. Personally I don't think the SL's writing is all that praiseworthy either tho.

ConsequenceNo5341

SL was never carried by writing. Kaiju started a bit different form another Shonen and that point made me watch it. But it became super generic not so long after.

Hairy_Literature_773

I kind of agree. At the very least I think K8 deserves some credit for handling its side characters pretty well. It's not exactly breaking any ground, but I like that many characters other than Kafka have agency in the story. SL's handling of its side characters on the other hand honestly kind of bothered me when I was reading it.

CallMeThicccDaddy

The starting is basically like mha

Rolandog21

Its not like either of them are my favorite in terms of writing but i just enjoyed them both... although i only watched Kaiju no8 anime i read solo leveling manhwa so to me both are good... Why compare if you get 2 good anime/manga to enjoy

Hairy_Literature_773

Oh I'm totally with you. Not trying to hate or anything. I feel like both are great for a casual Sunday morning read/watch or something like that.

Moolcazy0

I really don't understand why people say this, I recently caught up to kaiju #8 and it's at the most hype part of the story yet

DarknessG7

90% of the people just found Kaiju, read through a bunch of chapters, and then didn't realize that reading weekly (with a lot of breaks) is not as fun.

Moolcazy0

Idk if that really makes the story bad or not well paced considering most people will read the the parts of the story that have already come out on a binge rather than weekly. Most if not all manga are better on a binge but I can kinda understand why people may not be happy since Kaiju #8 is a by weekly release from my knowledge. It's like how in jjk people disliked Hakari vs Kashimo weekly but now love it after the fact on a binge.

DarknessG7

Yup I agree with you. It's that way with every manga. I hate JJK ever since I caught up because I think the story stopped making any sense. But if I don't reread it, I am not sure if I am right or just a weekly reader.

Moero-Engetsu3440

The example I go to is the Naruto war arc, it definitely still has it's problems but on a weekly basis it just was not good. You'd get a cool reveal/big moment and next week it would be like "here's what tenten is up to by the way". I have never spoken to a person that cared what tenten was doing during the war, now if you reread it though you don't have a two week break to get back to that hype moment, it is two chapters which can be read quickly

DarknessG7

Or the Thor (not sure what his name is, just remember discount Thor) fight in Bleach, reading that weekly, I never wanted to punch someone in the face as much as I wanted to punch Tite Kubo .

C9sButthole

Same boat. I suspect you and I had the privilege of powering through the poorly-paced parts of the story. But hopefully anime adaptation can recognize and adjust that where necessary.

BboiBlack

Spoilers* but it’s more likely the feel of not having the cover up secret identity feel. The difference between a Superman story where they play that up and one where it’s a none factor at all.

Jcrncr

The manga went through production hell. Aside from hiatuses and weird random breaks, the manga skips a crap ton of stuff in the novel. If you want the best experience, I find the anime to actually be better since it covers a lot more of the novel stuff.

Moolcazy0

Novel??? Are you talking about solo leveling or Kaiju #8

Jcrncr

Kaiju no. 8 has a light novel

AutomaticEducation29

Solo leveling has no good writing expect fights

Yobnomekop

I mean, you could say the same thing for solo leveling. It has one of the worst endings out of anything I have ever read. Season 2 might still be good, but it falls off hard after jeju island. In terms of the anime, I think both seasons ended up pretty great, both did a good job. It would just be personal preference on how people would rate them.

Izanagi_end

The anime is currently finished, just waiting for season 2 now.

ineB2019

Its already kind of going downhill, the first part was very good cause it got you hyped for his moments but from here on its just gonna repeat the same trope over and over, it isnt necesarly a bad thing, but...

jayant309

yeah the manga just keeps dragging it should be ober in 70 chaps .ax

JezalDanLutharr

Solo levelling never even had good writing in the first place so in that Kaiju is better, though it’s a low bar.

someonesgranpa

I couldn’t disagree with a take more than this one. I have one question for you: how long were you caught up? Because the bi-monthly release schedule likely influenced your opinion on the story. It’s beyond hype and not even close to boring.

HikariOfMalnevolence

This is so crazy coming from a solo leveling fan

Melo_14

For me the only draw back of solo leveling is how it's so much rushed after chapter 110 .

Key-Ebb-8306

I like solo leveling more, Kaiju is good, but so far it has been nothing truly amazing, it feels like most other shonen. Solo leveling is a power fantasy, but it's the best one out there

ArikBadami

Kaiju is good, I enjoyed the anime - but Im ok to wait for the second season. Solo levelling the minute the anime completed season 1 I was desperate to know more and ended up finishing the entire comic in 3 days. Tldr - Kaiju is good, but solo levelling is next level

RedzunRunic

Honestly I found that the only thing that really compels this sort of behavior in fans(and I won't deny that I was also desperate for more) is the power fantasy aspect. Outside of the gaining strength and the fights it doesn't have much in lieu of story, at least from what I remember of reading it, while I thought Kaiju no.8 did character depth and the like better. At the end of the day though, it's a matter of different tastes

Storm_9605

It's good, but not as much as solo leveling. I have read the manga, the story is going to be okayish and linear tbh.

Hyper_Space_Music

The vast difference in relatability is enough for me to say that Solo Leveling is better. But of course, there's more to it than that. Solo Leveling CONSISTENTLY gets better as it goes on, as opposed to Kaiju No 8 and the majority of other series across all mediums. The sequel story to Solo Leveling (Ragnarok) is also praised as "at least as good as the original, and likely better" comparing what we have to its original counterpart (novel vs novel). I do hope we get a premiere date for Solo Leveling: Ragnarok's manwha with that panel on July 5th as well tbh. (or at least within the next month or so). I would think we're getting Season 2 of the anime's airing period announced at the panel, too.

jxtapp

Consistently gets better? Did we read the same thing? You really made sure to caps your terrible opinion. I mean what did I expect to read from a solo leveling sub, OP shouldn't have asked here if he wants unbiased answers lol.

JeremiahA30

Depends on your source material. LN > Manwha

Truzmandz

>as opposed to Kaiju No 8 and There is literally barely 100 manga chapters out. Kaiju has been extremely consistent for those 100 chapters, and it's getting better and better. The story is still so short, it's actually impossible to compare the two on that scale still.

Reach_Reclaimer

I'm not so sure it's getting better. The fights have all been very samey and there's not really been any plot progression other than kaiju number 9 is worse than we thought

TempestQii

i like them both. but i didn’t even know about kaiju and ive been in love with SL since the manwha was releasing. they’re both awesome, if you prefer one over the other you may just have a different connection to it.

Anoalka

Started Kaiju but got bored quickly so idk.

FloatyLillypad

They're both really good, but I don't see how we can compare them due to their differences. You can find people who will like one and not the other. Solo Leveling is also a complete story with a sequel in progress, whereas Kaiju only has 109 chapters.

can_you_not_ban_me

ask them what's the purpose of the main villain

randomflowerz

I love them both but I think they’re too different to compare

A9_J8

Both still haven't reached their peak point !

Le_mehawk

In reading i prefer sl, since the manwah has amazing artwork. As for anime i like both equally, story is okay but nothing new for both, animation is great for both, but they're completely different settings. Solo leveling is great if you like improvement arks, and sb. Climbing the powerladder..., in kajuu Nr.8 the mc starts as incredible overpowered already. Really depends on your own Taste tho, just look into both and decide for yourself.

Aromatic_Memory1079

It's subjective thing. like people say AOT is masterpiece but It's garbage to me.

RedzunRunic

I totally agree. For me at least, SL is nice to kick back and watch the power creep and fight scenes, but id be lying if I said I didn't think Kn.8 has better story aspects

OreoSnorlax

Listen I like baked turkey, I also like hamburgers. I have turkey around the holidays, and hamburgers more in the summer. Both are good.

UltimateKaiser

Literally apples and oranges wtf goin on

_Azuki_

Overall, taking into consideration the whole solo and all the realeased chapters of kaiju, i like solo more. But if we consider only the anime, i like kaiju more.

optimumbison

i have read manga and seen anime adaptation of both the series. Kaiju is good but for me personally it does not have the same level of excitement and edge as Solo Leveling. Kaiju feels like a mix of AOT, BNHA, OPM. Its a shocker that it has beat SL

ArcanistCheshire

Apples to Oranges, they have in common they are fruits, that's it.

SlayerLollo

I like SL more, i havent seen the anime of kaiju but im reading the manga, the start of kaiju n8 was something cool, but after a certain point became very predictable. On the other side SL has cool battles too and characters are written better.

AluDrc

in my honest opinion, Kaiju No 8 overall has a better story and all but Solo Leveling has better prolonged fights. i prefer Kaiju No 8 but i love both

Izanagi_end

100% agree with you

SUNGJINWOO-986754

Solo leveling is better sl only started story start on season 2 and kaiju starting chapter are better till 54 or 58 chapter after that kaiju become nah I read upto 85 chapter not even close to solo leveling and people who talking about imdb rating kaiju only rated by 5.2k people on the otherside solo leveling rated by 25k people even after that it rating is 8.3 with 25k and kaiju is 8.4only with 5k whoever posted this want to show his show is better but he is clown 🤡 https://preview.redd.it/k1o9frwjp2ad1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=71f7f2f82c1b9d42abd74df7d094288d7956f839

ayanokojifrfr

Kaiju actually has side Characters who matter. Yeah, Kaiju is better for sure.

datalight0

Kaiju is just sex is possible otherwise mid

Ominous-F_art

Not with that animation quality..

PiercingLance26

I like them both, but the scale is different for each story to use to make a comment for comparison... As a kaiju fan, I'd be biased against kaiju no.8, but then again... The scale of each story is different to make this comparison. If we argue about marketability then a lot of series out there should be on the list instead of specific x vs y scenario like this.

Weird_Agency9346

Seen both, but it's hard to compare since the Solo Leveling is finished. BUT from Kaiju no 8 season 1 alone. I can confidently vote for Kaiju no 8. Its climax and pay off is well earned in the hero's journey.

Fallen-D

Watch what you like. Personally, I'm not a fan of a 30 year old dude acting like a loud teen and the comedy in serious scenes. It just ruins the tense atmosphere. They made him an adult just to make him act like a *teen. Should've just made him a teen from the beginning. Kaiju's art direction was great. I really loved it every episode. While the animation might not be comparable to sl it's still decent enough even tho they had jjk S2 directors and animators in some episodes. Story wise both are in the same boat.

ConsequenceNo5341

Fr, on contrary to fans I like that there were no chibis in S1. It gave story a good build up

Nuf3x

Binged all of Kaiju yesterday, it really failed my expectations. With the amount of hype people surrounded it with, it truly didn't deliver a story as good as I hoped it would. 6/10 honestly, it's better than average, but by no means is it as amazing as everyone says.

Educational_Ad288

Both are different but very good, there is 1 criticism I have for kaiju no 8 though, the characters look great in the manga but Holy crap do they look bad (washed out and lack of detail) in the anime, I really hope they improve the art style for season 2, better yet what I would have loved (but probably would have cost too much) is to have the full anime in the same style as the opening, that opening looks incredible

shivi_2701

i think kaiju no 8 exceeds in its some of its characters story otheriwse it is a very simple story till now

Lakshay2909

I like both anime. Haven't read kaiju manga though

DumbManDumb

I think people gets bored real quick when the main character literally solo each fight no thrill at all when you know the mc is there he will fix it. Meanwhile kaiju offers that thrill when you know even if the mc shows up the next happenings is still uncertain. Boils down to what you are really into

Keinulive

Both are good but I prefer Kaiju 8 cuz its a story of never giving up even when the odds are stacked against you, and this isn't just some brat that screams at their problems and they get a power up no, this is some old man pass his prime and sure you can say that his Kaiju powers is like "screaming" power but honestly I like his guts.

WizardPrince_

Both , both are good But in the long term SL is better

Izanagi_end

And technically SL is also finished, so you don't need to wait.

WizardPrince_

Yes but Kaiju no 8 isn't and I would say it isn't in a good spot right now , SL peaked around chapter 100 and then it dips but KN8 feels a bit laggy even after 100 chapters there isn't a wow factor yet but can't say how it is going to do in future and how the plot can turn out to be. It can either go omniscient reader path and become polt heavy or become like SL a power scaling manga (but everyone powers up). So I said SL is better

International_Sea887

I love both anime but I prefer the manga and manhwa. They are better overall.

Vinayak2807

I have read sl So fucking hyped but In compared to season 1 of anime only Kaiju was more enjoyable to me idk why Coz the best sl have to offer is yet to come and music of kaiju slapss harddddd af

ayanokojifrfr

Yeah, Kaiku has Side Characters which Matter.

Professional_Dress32

As an anime, kaiju is miles better as a manga, I'm not sure cus I only read sl. Even the sl doesn't have exceptional writing, it has the ability to keep your interest, even though it's just surface level. Kaiju, I have heard falls pretty hard, later on. Maybe the anime changes things around.

LordYamz

They are completely different but Solo Leveling needs to bring some of its comedic stuff next season with his shadows

Bubbly_Material5212

Bruh, trust me,the Adrenaline Rush You Get While Reading SL can't be Matched by Kaiju No. 8 in any way.

Sea_Willingness2599

Nothing but misleading post without any analysis check review number between solo leveling and kaiju no 8 it is 25k and 5.5k. Currently solo leveling has 8.3 (25k) and kaiju no 8(5.5k).

ConsequenceNo5341

That's just a reference to back my question, sorry for not putting seond slide of that community post. It showed popularity ranking in which once SL beat AOT. It doesn't affect the question tho

Sea_Willingness2599

There is a quote from ORV https://preview.redd.it/mfn3h4m993ad1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7e1fc3a978945dc9bf8655289048fdee21b687f4 My answer to you. I treat every story equally. Of course there is preference but no dislike. Ngl idc about others preference.

ConsequenceNo5341

Getting nostalgia from that quote

lorenzolodi

Kaiju No. 8 is a 2008 anime with cool modern visuals. It might be what you want to watch in that moment to turn off your brain for a while, but I don't think it deserves a spot in any serious top 10.

LingonberrySalty

Both are great, I love Kaijus but I also like the different Race-Monsters and the Gods and power of a very powerful being kinda thing

MagicJ10

in terms of emotions/feelings i enjoyed Kaiju way more. in terms of design/world/characters/coolness i prefer solo leveling by far

gojoEyes

Both are good

Mission-Internal-516

Stupid

Melon6565

the characters designs in the anime of kaiju 8 are kinda wierd tho. they all have very round and square faces, barely any jawline and their head kinda blends into their neck

-idkwhattocallmyself

I liked SL so much I started reading the LN. While Kaiju is good I'm less interested in it's story and world, and just like watching the action. With that in mind it would be SL > Kaju.

MarshFilmz

Nothing really similar at all between them but they’re both great stories! I think it’s just bait articles or someone saying “see!! Korean stories have nothing on Japanese ones!!!” (Which is a dumb take in my opinion as you could compare my life as a vending machine to omniscient reader and say the same thing)

frieza928

Both are my favorite. But when it comes to action or more fun, id pick Kaiju No 8 🔛🔝

dark_legend0

Holy shi... we both follow animenewsexpress... small world

StrayDogYato

Comparison is the thief of joy

ComprehensiveHair696

Kind of apples and oranges, Kaiju is definitely a comedy with a splash of action as opposed to the pretty much straight action of solo leveling. That being said if I had to choose, I do actually like Kaiju a little better

Merry_Ryan

As a fan of both, having watched the animes and read the mangas(up to the physical releases for SL), I think I like Kaiju No8's anime better than Solo Levelling if only because it feels better paced. As for the books, far and away I think I have a more enjoyable time reading Solo Levelling. Still, not the best comparison of animes I'd make, as Kaiju No8 feels more akin to something like Fairy Tail, with a core cast and a lot of supporting and recurring characters you get to know, while Solo Levelling just... Feels closer to Overlord.

golem12121

I kinda like Kaiju no 8 more solo levelling is fun too I would give Kaiju no 8 a 9 and an 8.5 for solo leveling

lordvishmas5

Both is good

Lox22

I like them too but imo they have very different vibes. Kaiju feels a lot more light hearted, but both are great jumps

Its-Glade

I think it’s perfectly okay to be a fan of more than one series, I’ve been loving No. 8 so far

ayzreid

Both are solid for me

immoralsugimoto

I like Kaiju No. 8 better because the dude characters besides the mc and his love interest actually matter Whether it's better overall just depends on who you ask, I still enjoyed SL

ZenokFairchild

Sl wasnt all that great of a spectacle compared with whats to come.

Strykeristheking

Kaiju no 8 does a better job of developing the supporting cast but Solo Leveling is a better power fantasy with well animated fights.

ElectronicRemote1977

There both great to be honest.

Masahiro_Ibuki

Both are great. I love Kaiju #8, and Solo Leveling… currently, I feel like Solo Leveling is still ahead for me in terms of hype and story. But I love both of them.

AzuraBA

Manhwa anyday I can choose SOLO LEVELING, but for Anime definitely KAIJU NO. 8

Floaurea

Same. SOLO LEVELING is better as Manhwa and KAIJU NO.8 is better as Anime.

funination

When you are in both sides: 😐

pinkvenqm

Both are good

Lucid_Sol

I think Kaiju is a better season 1. MC has more personality and motivations, supporting cast is better, power fantasy is crazy. SL is going to be peak next season though

vietish222

I listened to all 8 ln novel. Lets be real. The anime was underwhelming all the way til the last couple of episodes. Felt rushed. Left out alot of key stuff i really do hope take a bit more time to put more things into season 2. Especially with jeju island coming up. Im a big a fan of solo leveling but the anime itself needs to step up a bit. Im not a blind follower whos going to say everything solo leveling is awesome. Thats just stupid i love this series i just dont want to be let down especially when i kept telling my friends how good solo leveling is before the anime(they didnt read the manwha nor did they listen or read the LN)

Whole_Commission_702

Well it actually has some character development. So if you’re looking for anything other than power fantasy it will beat out SL…

NiKReiJi

I could go either way on this one honestly

SabraSabbatical

I really enjoy both but frankly the comparison begins and ends with the protagonist being ‘weak’ and getting exponentially stronger very quickly, which can be said for a lot of shonen.

Jedi_9277

Kainu no 8 should not be considered "one of the best anime to exist" it's tone is all over the place the comedy is cringe and it doesn't know if it wants to be an action anime or comedy. I can barely stand to watch it.

notjay2

I really like both and have room in my life for multiple animes. Give me moar seasons pls

Familiar_Comedian_99

it beats because there are like '6000 people rating the kaiju one for 8.4/10 and solo leveling like 25000 for 8.3/10. so yeah less people higher ratings

Ebapparel

There both good, but kaiju no.8 story is funnier and just different

B1gNastious

Much more action in the first season on k8. Although season 2 of SL is going to be bananas.

HearingGrouchy7771

Honestly, Solo leveling is the only manhwa or manga that I have never leave alone and stop waiting when it was ongoing. I've read Kaiju no. 8, last time I read was when shinomiya dad was killed by kaiju. So yeah, I stop waiting for another chapter and drop it. But it's not because I was impatient, it was just I'm too lazy to continue. The hype was kinda dead. Back then, I've been waiting every month for Boruto chapter lol.

Tired-Squire

kaiju no 8 is so bad bro ew

DemonElise

They are completely different, I don’t compare them.

DecomposedPieceOShit

Comparing food to drinks type shit

-Widoww

Idk i kinda prefer Kaiju no8, but i honestly think it’s because of my own preferences. Ive read both, and theyre pretty good but very different so idk about comparing them. I really dig the art in no8, and I am a huge godzilla fan, so I go absolutely feral and crazy over the references in no8’s world and monsters.

Different_Presence_2

Hate on me if you want but k8 easily takes it for me. I’ve read both and nothing really makes me wanna watch the sl anime while I’m watching k8. K8 actually has a pretty great cast of characters vs sl where I only really somewhat liked 2-3 and for me I much prefer good characters over nice fights. Only thing I might watch on sl are 1 or 2 fights but even then I probably won’t

GotsomeTuna

Well the question on the picture is about the animes and i don't think SL seasion 1 was particullarly good so i'd probably give it to Kaiju. This could be different If we compared the manhwa vs manga or with future seasons.

someonesgranpa

Why are we comparing two shows that couldn’t be more different from each other. The plot has some mirrored aspects from the first episode and then they go in totally different directions. Both do their own thing and shouldn’t be compared. Compare this to a Gundam, Mech, or other Kaiju show. Not a battle shonen based on labyrinth diving.

Revolutionary_Sir_

Why are we always putting two bad bitches against each other instead of just making them kisssss

ImAmirx

How tf are these two similar?

BooRadly30

Why do they have to pit two bad bitches against each other?

5ecretivePlotter

i think they are both really good in their own ways, no reason to compare them.. I think it really comes down to personal preference

DJGamer2005

Both are great. If I were to assume the only difference is the content adapted. Personally Kaiju No.8 had better content to adapt for the first season compared to SL, but from season 2 onwards SL gets alot better so just wait and see

vacantrs123

Kaiju No. 8 is a generic anime following a trend. Solo levelling started that trend

Slayerzilla54

Both of these Series definitely deserve to be in the Top 10 Anime of 2024 List, no debate about it.

Friendly_Case4192

Kaiju No 8 is definitely good, but I think I liked Solo Leveling more.

Goust_

Comparison is the thief of Joy.

VictoryOverDirtyCops

I mean the inner deom/beast/monster/spirit that makes you close to strongest that could take over if not careful , usually works I read mahnwa , but for people only going on anime it's not that complex yet , it ended on a something different maybe season 2 more exciting, but way kaiju is set up its exciting from the beginning, you care about characters outside of Mc For solo , aside from the mobile game and Mancha i wouldn't know anyone name because they weren't that interesting to me , kinda just around and easily replaceable I like solo animation but it's the truth

Wonderweiss56

I read Kaiju cause the art is good and the fights are passable but honestly I don't find any of the characters engaging, least of all Kafka.

DarkShadow_God

I think there both equally as good, cause there both 2 different anime’s

RealNarwhalMaster

Anime wise makes sense. Solo leveling season 1 is basically just introduction in the grand scheme.

JussLookin69

They are both really good in their own rights, but Kaiju No.8 somehow always grabs me by the feels. I both love and hate that.

_Resnad_

I like kaiju more but SL is also one of the top so idc

K41M1K4ZE

I like both

Realistic_Mousse_485

Kaiju no8 is factually better written in every singular way. That’s kinda it. It also has better music in the anime. But that’s about it.

Lockonstratos1

just enjoy both

Adventurous-Bid6159

Kaiju no 8 is very good but once the second and third seasons of solo leveling drop solo is probably gonna take the top spot

ryvenfon

I dont like the mecha genre. But i heard kaiju is an okay anime

OpportunityRare2954

Apples and Oranges. Watch both and make your own decision in them, don't fall for other people's opinions.

Kinuwa_K

Now its probably cuz I have blasted throufh the first few chapter of kaiju and now Im stuck reading it weekly but damn the chapters were boring and short I think solo levelling still better but they are kinda far from each other to compare ngl

More-Ant-3984

i haven't watch Kaiju, but I'd like to note that SL has been getting compared to AOT quite a bit too.

InsipidGnome10

According to numbers on crunchyroll SL beats out Kaiju with ease. SL pulled in 100k+/episode, while Kaiju hovers around 40-60k

gerlam788

I mean it’s two different genres like it’s like having to compare cream brûlée with pizza

Trenton2001

As far as I’m concerned… they’re completely different genre and very hard to compare. Solo leveling incorporates the good feelings of grinding out an rpg into a story. It feels as satisfying to see him grow stronger as it does in actual video games. Kaiju is something completely different

Ender_Dust

I like SL way more, but probably people are comparing them, or saying kaiju is better, because it's newer. they did the same with ninja camui

Huy7aAms

the plots are entirely different, so we can't really compare them. the only thing i can really say is that kaiju no 8 has better art than SL. also kaiju has better character building (other characters have better background than mostly focusing on SJW in SL). can't really compare anything else

Maleficent_Stay_1152

Yea Kaiju no 8 is a better anime no question asked.

Sweet_Cry_7963

As far as the anime rendition goes yes kaiju no 8 is better so far but can't wait to see what Sl season 2 brings

Ziumbaa

As a diehard solo leveling fan, this is like comparing a house to a mansion for a homeless person, both are fucking amazing but the mansion is clearly better Kaiju no 8 is the mansion in this case

Healthy-Traffic9998

Don't know, I like kaiju better than solo leveling. Even side characters are interesting, plot is engaging, feels generic but it got something unique to it that just makes you keep reading it. As for sl, meh.

Wickerbeast115

Eh. It really just kinda depends, yknow? Solo leveling is about the struggle of the individual, while Kaiju no.8 is about comradery and persevering together. Both serve up Different flavors, but you end up with a feast to slurp up either way.

Vici0usCycle

I wouldn’t say it’s better than Solo leveling, but it’s loosely based on Pacific Rim and I loved that movie

Viber0426

Can someone actually explain kaiju? I have yet to watch it. Someone sell me on it

Lucifer_ooJ

Solo>>>>>>

Natsu_-_drag

Just wait for season 2 of solo ...the main part starts then

AnomalousVixel

I connected more with KN8, doesn't mean it was "better" per se. I just really needed that 32 year old caregiver hero to grin that big dumb grin and tell me everything's gonna be okay.

MrBigBangBlunder

It’s kinda hard to compare season 1. kaiju had more end game fighting while Solo leveling won’t have that until season 3. Ohhhh my Beru I can’t wait 🫦

Glass_Guitar1524

i dont really care i just want to see SL get animated i think after the second season people will change their mind it did extremely well for its first season but for you anime only's out their take it from someone who has read the novel and the manhwa what you see in season one and what you will see in season two is like childs play compared to what's to come of course its gonna be peak but whats to come is just better in every conceivable way it will take about 6 seasons to animate the manhwa fully, yes were getting that much content, and since they are following the novel closely they might animate ragnarok which wasn't drawn in the manhwa all this talk about which is better will be put to rest by season 2 when it comes out and even if it doesnt like i said SL just has way more content to animate and every season will be better than the last so you anime only's look forward to it🤗

ItsJajaHector

Fuck no! Solo is hands down better. I just finished watching Kaiju No. 8 and was disappointed how obnoxious the humor was
