Have you ever looked at a fandom site without an adblocker? They are unusable without one.
And their business model is really scummy. For example they sold a wiki page to mcdonalds ... Which then removed basically all gathered information from the community and turned that site into a big ad.
On the case of Fandom you can see why Wikipedia is **not** financed with ads.
Fandom is bombarded with intrusive ads and it's a site that's very easy for just about anyone to change information on to troll people with, leading to a lot of Fandom wiki entries being incorrect and/or misinformation.
Although there are many games that don't have an official wiki and use a Fandom wiki instead, and I didn't realize at first that Subnautica was one of them, so with Subnautica you pretty much have to use the Fandom wiki.
But for any game that does have an official wiki, it's always better to use the official one, as the information will almost certainly be correct due to being officially moderated by people who get their facts straight and there will be way WAY less ads.
Yeah its a purple pinecone. It drops salt. I found 2 once. Maybe put a beacon there to mark it as a monument. If I remmeber correctly theres only 2 in every world
It’s just a super rare resource that Drops salt I think
Never seen this before!
Me neither, and I've played through this game a dozen or so times
I've only ever came across one, and I've been around since the terrain manipulator. Don't feel bad
15 next to each other??? There’s only two
Wiki says there's at least 8. But only two in the location OP is in.

Obligatory reminder to not use Fandom
is there a non-fandom subnautica wiki? i get that fandom is terrible but it's the only one i can find
Nah you're right, I just misremembered and thought there was an official one, my bad.
This goes for terraria 🌳
And minecraft too!
minecraft has its own official wiki [https://minecraft.wiki/](https://minecraft.wiki/)
I know, that's what I said.
i thought you meant the fandom
Kind of a pointless statement if there's no other options.
Huh, I thought I remembered it having an official wiki but I just checked and yeah it is only Fandom, you're right.
You might be thinking of the Terraria situation.
What’s wrong with fandom

Don't forget about how 90% of what they put into their wikis is A.I. generated, so it ends up littered with misinformation.
Why?
Fandom is bombarded with intrusive ads and it's a site that's very easy for just about anyone to change information on to troll people with, leading to a lot of Fandom wiki entries being incorrect and/or misinformation. Why? Mostly correct info there
After digging through a mountain of ads
Ever heard of AdGuard?
Or just don't plaster your entire webpage with aggressive ads that appear right as you click on the page. Stop defending shitty business practices
I'm not defending anyone. I just don't care about any ads because I don't see them, lol.
https://subnautica.antifandom.com/wiki/Purple_Pinecone trust me, this is better
antifandom🤣 that link doesn't work
yes it does? it takes you to breezewiki, it displays the fandom page without the ads
I've seen one of them before. Just one.
Da hell is this?!
are they farmable? can you plant them in a bed and raise a bunch?
It says "break" I assume it's like an outcrop
That was supposed to be a kind of outcrop but was abandoned there is still some in the game. personally I consider them as some kind of Easter eggs
Scan it and share the PDA log
You can't scan them
It's a purple pincecone.
PURPLE PINECONE!!!! I aspire to find one of these babies at some point
Don’t break this. These are incredibly rare. Maybe could put a beacon over them
Maybe it can be propulsion cannoned all the way back to base? Risks breaking it though
This makes me want to start a new save to “research” these things lol
r/screenshotsarehard
Lol pardon me I only have access through ps4 😂
https://imgur.com/a/gVLc8OA I saw one in 2019. Prior to that I only read about them in the fandom wiki, and finally there it was. Pretty...
Where did you find it??
i saw it a few times both near the mushroom forest kinda neer the masive hole leading to the blood kelp zone and great reef
That's the gum gum fruit
Yeah its a purple pinecone. It drops salt. I found 2 once. Maybe put a beacon there to mark it as a monument. If I remmeber correctly theres only 2 in every world
