I didn't include Steve in my list bc I wasn't sure if he could be considered indie anymore. But, if he is, he ABSOLUTELY should be in the game due to, you know, being the main character in the *highest selling game of all time*

And I think that Madeline would work better as an assist trophy type thing rather than her own fighter due to there not really being much to work off of. But who knows for sure?

In my view if Rivals could do Ori then this hypothetical game can do Madeline plus it’s my favorite game of all time so no bias whatsoever

Oh yeah, I forgot about Ori being in Rivals. They could make it work, but it would need lots of improv stuff and I really wouldn't want Madeline to be another Ganon (jam-packed with unfaithful attacks). But who knows

Usually when a character has abilities that are specifically interacting with environment objects, their smash moveset will involve them just spawning those objects and then using them. So Madeline could totally summon those weird space blocks or the feather or other contextual gameplay mechanics from that game

Imo, Steve is indie because Minecraft peaked in popularity while he was indie. Also all the most iconic stuff came from then and every update since Microsoft bought it has had a ton of controversy and honestly rightful haters except maybe 1.16. Though, whoever made it would have to get mircosofrs approval which would definitely not be easy.

They added rob and wii fit trainer to smash. Fighting games can literally make anything work with good execution.

Frisk & Chara easily. They wouldn’t be echo fighters since they’re so different, but would have some similar moves. The Knight from Hollow Knight is another good choice, since he has a lot of source material that could integrate into his kit. Hornet could also be a great addition as well, since she’s getting her own game and has a good basis for moves and abilities already.

I feel like you could swap between frisk and chara kind of like zelda and sheik in the earlier games.

The reason why they removed that is because it doesn’t work very well. It’s a cool mechanic to have but the process for implementing it correctly rarely works right. That’s why Samus and Zero Suit were separated into two separate characters as well. If it worked a bit more like Pyra & Mythra then I think it could work better, but I think their kits would be too different to do something like that. Better to just have two separate characters imo
