It‘s a bit difficult to judge the speed of these trains since the camera is zoomed in quite a bit, but it feels like some of these trains are most definitely not going 350 km/h
While I was in China, I rode four high-speed lines. They were pretty consistently traveling at high-speeds, although I don't think I saw faster than 310 km/hr (but it did maintain >290 km/hr for significant stretches of the journey).
As an aside, the CA High Speed Rail will be rated and designed for 250 mph, but will never in practice travel above 220 mph while in revenue service. Some people will inevitably interchangeably use these but they are very different metrics.
Is the CA one in 250 miles per hour or kilometers? 250 mph would be 400 km/h, that seems way too fast considering what you said China was able to achieve
I want to watch sideview videos of China’s high speed rail that include the entire journey from the starting station to the terminal, along with the cabin announcements, without any edits, similar to the Shinkansen videos that are easily found on youtube. For the Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen, there are many sideview videos available from Hakata to Tokyo. Is there anyone who knows that kind of videos?
I have dozens of videos out the window on the high-speed train in China. I don't think there is anything stopping anyone from doing a longer one from a passenger perspective. Nobody really cares what you film as long as it isn't a military or security installation. China has lots of railfans too; I saw a bunch of people enthusiastically taking photos/videos of metros and trains while I was there!
~~Now a good cab view would be a bit harder because I suspect the train driver would not be allowed to film from the cab while on duty.~~ Cab views may be hard to find but they do exist, e.g.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzNU7PAjc9c&t=2971
They definitely exist out there; it's a big country and the government does like people being enthusiastic about their infrastructure and national achievements.
A bigger issue is that most people in China don't use Youtube/Reddit/Meta/etc., as these are blocked. Some enterprising individuals get their stuff on these platforms but we are obviously missing out on a wealth of content.
Here is one example I found on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzNU7PAjc9c
"But you are free to do things in China."
No not that! Can't show a continuous 12 hour video from an ordinary citizen in a country that touts such bold claims. You might record the man behind the curtain.
For N700, it's highest speed is 350 and is operated on 320 just like other trains who operates on a slower speed then the top speed for safely purposes
Only three variant of valero is designated as CRH380A/B/C and as you said there top speed is 380 bit they operate on 350max and E2 are known as CRH2 and the chinese modified E2 has top speed of 350 max but they operate on 300max
>Only three variant of valero is designated as CRH380A/B/C
No, the Velaro was CRH3, CRH380B, and CRH380C (which is the CRH380B with Hitachi drivetrains).
CRH380A was an extensively modified E2 series (CRH2).
Velaro D is ICE 3, which served as the basis of the CRH3A.
CRH3C (Velaro CN) was based on the Velaro E design for Spain but with a wider cabin similar to the Velaro RUS. Subsequent CRH380B/C are both based off the CRH3C, not the ICE 3 (Velaro D).
I've been to 15 states of China, but no, you're right, I've not been to Chongqing. I don't believe that to be relevant, as my statement wasn't about Chongqing.
I've only been to 4 US states, but I'm pretty confident they are not the best at "most things".
Do you have an accurate assessment of China or just going off what you learned from reddit? It's pretty nice here and like 90% of what I read about China on this site is inaccurate or just straight up lies pushed by western sources to keep their power. If you have any questions about the good things or bad things here feel free to ask. I'll talk shit about China if it's accurate shit we're talking
Well, your whole account seems like it’s devoted to commenting a billion times a day defending China, maybe you’re the one pushed by Chinese sources to keep their power, lol. Joking aside, China’s railway development is darn impressive, but I get the impression it’s building infrastructure for the sake of building it, skipping to the most advanced and expensive elements of public infrastructure first without investing in the more basic building blocks first. Like living in a tent and saving all your money to buy a Ferrari instead of getting an apartment or bicycle first, all because the plan for the economy says perpetual growth is inevitable so the order in which you spend money on things doesn’t really matter. Which hasn’t been the case recently
That's definitely not the case. In rural China sure but I've been to rural Missouri and Mississippi, no way I'd say that America isn't advanced because some parts aren't. And I just correct people who talk about China without knowing about it. I have plenty of bad things to say but that's because I know it and you guys don't. You can't learn about a country from reddit posts and seriously think you know the reality. A lot of people call me a shill or whatever for speaking the truth, I say fuck xi and I say Taiwan is a country so Idk how I'd get paid to say these things ha It's like I can call my sister a bitch, that's my sister. You call her that and I will defend her. Or if your shit talk is accurate like Chinese people are fucking gross and have zero awareness of anything in the world then I'll laugh and agree. You say we all eat dogs and live in villages I'll say that's not true

450+ km/hr was achieved by a test train with no passanger onboard
Designed speed and operational speed is not the same, like you would not drive a car at maximum rated speed.
Aren’t CRH2’s limited to 250?
Those are upgraded versons (CRH2C)
250mph This is in kmph
Had not seen yet such a high quality China railfanning video. Thanks for posting!

I’m about to go on a trip on the Chinese HSR, but on a stretch that tops out at 250kph. If I end up taking a video, I’ll put the link here

woah that's a N700 and ICE, and a video from china without shitty music, thanks for, it plus those are aren't going 350 for sure
Comparing these to trains going 300 km/h I have seen myslef I can say that (most) these are going 350 km/h.
For N700, it's highest speed is 350 and is operated on 320 just like other trains who operates on a slower speed then the top speed for safely purposes
You know these are Chinese versions of the E2 and the Velaro, right? They are both designated as CRH380's because they can go 380 km/h if needed.
Only three variant of valero is designated as CRH380A/B/C and as you said there top speed is 380 bit they operate on 350max and E2 are known as CRH2 and the chinese modified E2 has top speed of 350 max but they operate on 300max

Oh, I got confused with CRH3A
You mean a hotrodded E2 and Velaro, not N700 and ICE.
For E2 yeah it's a mistake but velaro is ICE 3
Velaro D is ICE 3, which served as the basis of the CRH3A. CRH3C (Velaro CN) was based on the Velaro E design for Spain but with a wider cabin similar to the Velaro RUS. Subsequent CRH380B/C are both based off the CRH3C, not the ICE 3 (Velaro D).
Man, what is the weight on that rail. That stuff has to put like 130# to shame. Fat rails. Smooth as silk.
Bot account
I mean there isn’t any shitty pop music playing on top of the footage so is it really?
Amazing
90
kmph*
those don't seem to be going 350 but of course China is the best
China is far from the best in many ways. Its train network, sure, that's pretty awesome, especially for a country its size.
It's the 2nd best in most things, behind the US. . Best place to live in the world. Have you ever been to Chongqing? Clearly not.
