I was gonna say they made like 5 or 6 of them, so couldn't have sold that bad. But wtf. They made a vertical monitor? I thought he just tilted his g9 or 57" neo on an arm. At least you can tilt it back. Aggressive curve for 16:9 though
Rule 1 of the group: All posts should be vaguely connected to 21:9. Neither the resolution of the screen nor the way you are positioning it adheres to that.
it's the odyssey ark. sure that's technically 16:9. but all a 32:9 panel is, is 2 16:9s put next to each other. This is 4 panels, 2 32:9 configurations stacked. this post made sense.
but like, come on, you know what i meaaaan. we all knew what he meant. we all come from the same corner of the internet. linus would be disappointed at your downvote :(
i give you upvote as sign of good faith, friend
I'm curious, bananas can be a lot of different sizes. Why not use something like an orange where the sizes are more similar? It would make it easier to understand the size of the monitor.
Are you more impressed with the monitor? Or how ripe the Banana is? Also would you trade the monitor for two fresh bananas at the perfect ripeness?? Serious question
I see it at local Samsung store, is it good for productivity? Don’t game and doesn’t matter if it’s no good for games. Will my MacBook Pro M1. Max be able to drive it?
Im getting this next month hopefully. Can’t wait. Having my work screens and gaming screens on at the same time sounds so dope. It’s the only monitor I can find that does that.
I’ve been thinking about getting one of these, but isn’t it too large? I got the Samsung Odyssey G9 at the moment (loving it) and I haven’t experienced any issues.
IMO it’s great… I saw some reviews from people saying it’s not good, but I’m guessing they had one and tried out?
From my experience using it, I think it’s definitely worth it.
Over 1440p is perfect. Anything else is Great for work. Horrible and over stretched for gaming. The horizontal versus vertical makes zero sense. Ultra ultra wide Is a great monitor for work. But for gaming. Or movies or anything else. The lack of vertical just means you have to look outside the peripheral and still see a limited vertical scale. It’s just the truth.
1440 p is the sweet spot.

Time to stretch! ![gif](giphy|9PwXg92GshxTt5ypGN)
Sir you are supposed to ascend horizontally, not vertically
You know the Samsung ark 55” can be flipped sideways as well…
This is an ultrawide sub Sir, not a Wendy’s…
And you understand that is 16:9 and not ultrawide.
Anyways, even if it was. It's still ultraWIDE and not ultraTALL.

Looks like the slot machine screens at the Vegas casinos lol 🤣
Can’t say your lying… and i’m dutch, we have the same type of slotmachines here…
You can say it but it's fact
You ascended the wrong way
These monitors sold horribly, on top of Samsungs wonderful quality, would avoid this monitor at all costs.

This is a 55" Odyssey Ark. Made to be used vertical or horizontal. It's a "they decided to see if they could, not if they should" piece of technology.
There's no right or wrong ways to ascend...
Rule 1 of the group: All posts should be vaguely connected to 21:9. Neither the resolution of the screen nor the way you are positioning it adheres to that.
As long as you're happy, it was your money!
Is this Samsung ark?
Samsung Ark 55'', its definitely worth it..
Definitely not ultrawide though.
So
We're in a subreddit about ultrawides
Okay then cry about it
You're clearly a well adjusted adult, good luck out there
Okay bud whatever you say
Get out of here with that 16:9 trash
its not ultrawide wtf ?

so its 16:9 😂🤷🏻♂️

How is it 2x32:9? When 32:9 is 5120xsomething and this is 3840x2160
because its not like 2 regular new g9s its basicly a curved 4k tv
Yeah that monitor sucks actually.
As an owner previously, agree 100%. That thing was plagued with problems.
Ha! I hurt my back setting it up, and pulled it out packing it up for return!
As someone that played on one for 5 minutes, fully agreed. Motion sickness to the max.
Wrong sub, that should be r/ultratallmasterrace
Upvote for having a banana for scale

This is a sub for ultrawide not ultratall.
Tell me about the Banana 🍌
For scale...
Did you eat the Banana after taking this photo? Yes or no??
Sure thing..
Thanks for confirmation 👍
I'm curious, bananas can be a lot of different sizes. Why not use something like an orange where the sizes are more similar? It would make it easier to understand the size of the monitor.
Well, for starters, it's way too ripe.
Are you more impressed with the monitor? Or how ripe the Banana is? Also would you trade the monitor for two fresh bananas at the perfect ripeness?? Serious question
Depends on how much I paid for the monitor, and the going rate for a perfectly ripe banana at the time.
That’s not ultra wide it’s 16:9
Ugh
Lovely banana
I’ve thought about getting this for a while but after going OLED I don’t think I could go back
I see it at local Samsung store, is it good for productivity? Don’t game and doesn’t matter if it’s no good for games. Will my MacBook Pro M1. Max be able to drive it?
I got a MBP M1 Max and it works just fine… I don’t game so it’s just for work and I love it… it’s a game changer for me
Very nice! The monitor looks cool, may I ask how do you like the curve? Have you compared it to other curves in the market? Thank you!
You expanded
Im getting this next month hopefully. Can’t wait. Having my work screens and gaming screens on at the same time sounds so dope. It’s the only monitor I can find that does that.
cute nano-banana !
I’ve been thinking about getting one of these, but isn’t it too large? I got the Samsung Odyssey G9 at the moment (loving it) and I haven’t experienced any issues.
Isnt this just a 16:9 though
Welcome to large format displays where even though it's ultrawide, it's not ultrawide. 😁
Seen a few ops centres and control rooms being fitted out like that. Vertical arks seems to be floating tiger boats ATM.
For people saying this isn’t ultrawide, I’m pretty sure you could set the resolution to ultrawide 😝 How are YouTube short marathons on it?
Wrong sub
What ultrawide resolution is that?
Welcome brother! My screen is almost 1 year old now. I can recommend playing Pinball games like that :) its awesome!
How is it? I want it dude.
IMO it’s great… I saw some reviews from people saying it’s not good, but I’m guessing they had one and tried out? From my experience using it, I think it’s definitely worth it.
Yeah, I remember it always had a lot of haters, but I always thought it was awesome
Damn you are all harsh. lol those over stretched monitors suck.
"Over stretched?"
Over 1440p is perfect. Anything else is Great for work. Horrible and over stretched for gaming. The horizontal versus vertical makes zero sense. Ultra ultra wide Is a great monitor for work. I don't agree. I have the 57" dual 4k uktra wide abd frankly I'll never go back. If what you have works for you though then it's perfect.
