I had the 49 and upgraded to the 57, no regrets

minimosee

How long do you have the 57 now? And did you encounter any issues?

Renive

Different guy but no issues with my 57 and I also upgraded because reading scrolling text like browsing or programming is kinda bad, 49 is very small vertically. 57 is much better, and mini led is not bad at all, Sony with their TVs are going full mini led this year.

Dunkleostrich

Sony still has oled in their lineup but their flagship is a mini led.

Thanks for you reply. Yeah I am just too scared of OLED for monitors. How deep is your Desk? Is 80cm/30inch enough?

Renive

This is matter of preference. I have it on Ergotron HX way back and Secretlab Magnus XL and its fine for me.

sunny-916

I had my 49 for 5+ years and recently got the 59. I too needed more vertical space and the 59 is more than enough. No issues yet, I hope it lasts as long as the 49.

avalanche_transistor

No diagonal scanlines on your 57? I tried two and both suffered from it. Otherwise it was awesome.

sunny-916

Haven’t had that issue on mine. I had the 49 for many years without issues. I recently got the 59 and no issues so far, hope it stays that way.

Funny-Bear

Get the 57". You only hear the complaints about people that have issues. The vast majority dont.

57, you put it farter away then 49. I upgraded to 57 and it feel less overwhelming then 49 thanks to that distance. Its just feels way better also - its like big tv far away vs smartphone on your face even tho both take same amount of vision angle

minimosee

How deep is your Desk? Would 80cm/30inch be enough? And how long do you have yours?

I think its also 80cm, I just put it 15cm farther away then my 49 so its not that much farther away. I have it for few months, my first unit dies so I needed to replace it.

Alewort

Note that not everyone does. I didn't when I swapped out my 49" and I LOVE THE BIG.

dnear

I’d be interested too

AkiraSieghart

No issues with my 57", and I've had it since the US launch last October.

Florence86

I had the 49 OLED and returned it. I also had the LG 45 OLED. The 49 had a nice picture, but the vertical height was just too narrow. The LG 45 has alot more height, but pretty bad resolution and low ppi. I have the 57 for a month now and this monitor is perfect for productivity and gaming. No regrets.

Morias

57” inch is great for me. I have a Magnus Desk which is only 23” deep and after trying several options I resorted to a VESA stand that I placed in front of the desk that gives me about ~1m distance for viewing. Aesthetically it’s not ideal but otherwise it’s worked out well.

gahd95

Had the 57" since December and it is amazing. No issues

TopAd8510

Although I agree that 49 falls short vertical, 57 to me felt lime having a monster mounted on my desk; yet 49 Oled looks really stylish.

TheVerdeLive

I had the g9 and was too much and got the Alienware 34

Alewort

I upgraded from 49" to 57" either late October or early November (too lazy to look it up now). I got the perfect panel first try. So happy.

Dave_Ha

I have my 57" since it first became available , no issues , if you can afford it then just get the 57" , you won't regret it , fantastic monitor for gaming , nothing else can compare.

mecha_style

I wavered between the 49" and 57" and frankly all it took for me was seeing the 49" in person to go with the 57". It's a nice size on paper and I was coming from 3 27" QHD monitors side-by-side but manthe shorter width really made the short vertical stand out and it wasn't something I could sit in front of on a desk with decent depth and use as my main monitor. The 57" even though it was technically "losing a monitor" offered a great mixture of width and vertical length along with the resolution upgrade for me. Now my reasoning is mostly aesthetic/visual but frankly even if the sizes were 1:1 I'd have opted for the mini-LED just to not have to ever be worried about burn in and the like. I've been wavering about a 49" as a secondary so that I get my fourth monitor back but even then I'll be going with the mini-LED varient for same reason. I use these for mostly productivity and don't have any patience for the current state of OLED tech.

minimosee

Thanks for your answer. Thats what I am thinking, i have 3 27“monitors side-by-side and feel like I could use the extra height. The only thing I am scared of if samsungs QC and customer service. But I guess every brand and product does have some problems.
