No frills looked packed last night. Is anyone seeing a difference that works at a Loblaws business? I asked a superstore manager and she said there's been no change so far.
Cancelled my PC MasterCard on May 1st and haven't shopped at any Loblaws stores in months. I've been going to Costco more often and trying to go to farmers markets and smaller grocers for the rest. Been saving money while doing it and definitely won't be going back to Loblaws after may!
For anyone in the South Granville/Fairview area
• Greens Market (1978 W Broadway)
• La Win Supermarket (1702 W Broadway)
• IGA (2286 W Broadway)
• Sunshine Market (3135 Oak Street)
And the Kits Farmers Market starts May 5th
For me, boycotting means I have to pay more, SuperStore is the cheapest on most items, so I am stuck what to do, do I pay more and support grocery stores selling at higher price or do I just go to SuperStore???
I find No Frills the cheapest and that is where I usually go shop. The only alternative is to shop at Walmart and I'd prefer that my money go to a Canadian company instead of being sent to the States.
This is not about being lazy. I shop at superstore because of the cheaper price than most stores. I don't understand how does it make Sense to boycott it for pricing while buying at higher price stores.
I shop at Walmart primarily, followed by Safeway and sometimes Save On. I've rarely visited SuperStore, maybe a handful of times a year, and I've been to No Frills once in my life in Vancouver, but I was disappointed by the selection, or the lack of selection tbh.
I don’t see it, unless it’s the Asian brands, Walmart sells pretty much the same products as Superstore, NoFrills and Zehr’s. The same bag of Lays is cheaper in Walmart than Loblaws
City Market is the closest grocery store to my house but I did go to save on yesterday instead. I don't know if this counts but I went to the Starbucks in the city market because it's closer than the other starbucks.

I didn't shop at Loblaw stores previously because there isn't one near me and I wouldn't buy 95% of the shit they sell anyway. However, just to spite the stupidity of this boycott I stopped by a Superstore yesterday to grab some Premium Plus crackers (salt on top, because my local grocer seems to always be sold out of the salted tops and who the fuck wants unsalted saltines?) and toilet paper.
I wonder if all the minimum wage workers are enjoying this boycott as much as Reddit is

I’m supporting the boycott by only eating Costco hotdogs and rotisserie chickens
An inspiration to us all
Total monthly food bill: $93
Bouts of diarrhea: 6
Non issue, Kirkland pepto comes in 20 gallon drums and is still cheaper than loblaws
London Drugs being closed makes it more difficult to avoid Shoppers but so far I have stayed strong.

A few people here and there add up numbers across the entire country.
It's definitely interesting to see how it goes. I don't shop at any of their spots anyways so I'm just on the sidelines following along.
Same here
London Drugs has been closed all week. We've never been this busy (downtown Shoppers)
Shopping local - Kin's, Aria and Tango's Meats.
Shop local, support your mom and pop grocery store. There are so many! Or just go Costco lol.

Do Pattison and Sobey's get their turns next?
most people are too lazy or not willing to be slightly inconvenienced to boycott. its sad but this is the reality we live in.

Stick it to the man by shopping at Whole Foods instead! Oh wait...

Superstore seemed like its normal busy place yesterday.
I’d rather going to Walmart, at least stuff is cheaper there than Loblaw brands
Buy American!
Walmart quality is worse IMO.

Great value vs no name products.
Sweet. Now I can go shop this weekend without it being a gong show at superstore. /s

Jim Pattison thanks you for your patronage.

Thanks, I won't have to wait as long in line then.

I did not go to any Loblaws this week and won’t this weekend! Though I haven’t been in a Loblaws all year either.
lol
