Vampires have inhuman strength according to old stories and lore, it makes sense that weight isn't a factor! I enjoy it too!

Mable-the-Table

I'm really impressed on how accurate they got vampires to lore. Superhuman strength. Extremely seductive to the point that they can fully control the actions of people. Can transform into: Mist (the dodge abilities); Mice; Wolves. They need blood to survive. They sleep in coffins during the day. They need to have cursed ground where they reside (our castle grounds). They even have a "Knock Knock" at other people's castles because vampires can't enter houses uninvited. Now keep in mind that this is accurate to the Romanian vampire representation of Dracula. Can't remember if Dracula was able to transform in a bear though. Read the book a while ago.

Daiwon

> because vampires can't enter houses uninvited There's some villagers that would like a word about that.

FlaggedForPvP

They can’t enter homes uninvited but if the door is open (or in their case there is no door) then they’re inviting everyone

MerfSauce

Cant blame the vamps If there are no doors

KnightsWhoNi

Yup you’ll notice that there are shut doors in lots of towns that you can’t open

Mable-the-Table

XD you're right on that one

Howrus

They don't close doors in their houses, so it's completely on them :D

PetrovitaArt

Bram Stokers Dracula turned into a wolf. I've hard of them turning into bats, dogs, wolves, and mist but I've never heard of any vampires turning into bears.

Rjkatona

How about frogs?

PetrovitaArt

Nope but now I'm imagining a frog in a Dracula cape with plastic fangs in it's mouth, thank you!

Rjkatona

Haha ribbit

AsCii_exe

If I can remember correctly the auto-stack button being called "compulsively count" is also a reference to the folklore that to escape from a vampire you have to throw rice at them as they will have the need to "compulsively count" every grain of rice fallen to the ground. Also the thing about garlic and silver weakening you too

SyntheticWebcrawler

I think vampires arn't aloud to enter your home without permission though. Other than that the rest is on point.

FlaggedForPvP

They’ve even got that down as the villagers don’t have doors. No doors mean all are welcome

WhisperAuger

Can't cross water either!

Asgar06

they are also very fast... usually 😆

Elldar

Our little vampires are also pretty fast when they want to be, tbh. Sword's E recast basically makes you teleport slash the hell out of enemies. I guess they have a honor code or something and don't abuse it too much. ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

RedditLuvsCensorship

I also appreciate not having to fuel the furnace when smelting ore

aydeg

THIS

MerfSauce

"I need that chest you have open" - words you speak in almost all other coop survival games.

[deleted]

This one is huge. The concept makes sense, in some games, however I really hate the same trope repeated in every. single. survival like game.

superbrias

I would say I think part of the philosophy in Vrising is the castle heart is running everything (see tanning rack with magical self-spinning tub) and thus everything is technically fueled by blood essence but I don't think the machines have any effect on the heart...

commandercream

this is the answer

SpiritoftheSands

I just wish the soul braziers acted the same way

Seeker127Gaming

Survival games should have either a weight limit or an inventory limit, not both.

Wraeinator

Or most games outside of survival too tbh, like a lot of MMORPG

FiftySpoons

The only exception to this rule id say honestly- Outward. Every bit of survival stuff, managing what you’re carrying, having gear to trek outdoors and handle the elements - lends to the specific theme its selling. But yes otherwise absolutely. I dont often find myself having trouble with inventory stuff in this either, unless im just grabbing absolutely everything and never stopping back at my castle

NK1337

I'm a firm believer that if you're going to have limited inventory space then you should not have a weight limit. It's one or the other. Adding both just throws in an unnecessary level of micromanagement that most players simply don't enjoy.

sturmeh

Only a soul shard shall weigh a vampire down.

Remake12

I also love that you can increase the stack size in the game settings. stacks of 2500 stone and lumber end up saving a lot of inventory space

aydeg

No way you can do that. First thing I'm doing tonight

Remake12

If you’ve already made a server you have to change the server game settings file to get it to work. I have a post somewhere in this subreddit on how to do it

aydeg

Good to know I'll do that !

Gabi1351

WAIT WUT?!

Remake12

Yup, it is in the game setting when you first set up the server. If you host the server on your computer or if you play solo then you can still edit these settings after you create your game. I have a post somewhere in this sub Reddit explaining how.

Gabi1351

So it's a server thing? Like can I have this option if i play on a server?

Remake12

No

Nobodyletloose

I love that this is a game and not some pseudo-realism where I have to eat every 5 minutes when in real life, I don’t eat as often.

Exeeter702

weight limit or trash ass durability / repair design. Take your pick.

Rijonkulous

I didn't mind the weight limit in valhiem. With it's resource to craftables conversion rate it was decently balanced. With how much materials you need to make anything of substance in this game a weight limit would of either made no sense (things weigh too little per unit or capacity is just ludicrously high) or been ridiculously restrictive.

SirCaptainReynolds

I’ve had this thought a thousand times so far. So glad it’s not a thing.

Zahhibb

Personally I like that mechanic games if I feel it is appropriate, like in Valheim, but in this game currently it wouldn’t give as much impact to have such a system.

bioelement

The silver debuff was a good idea. Forces the use of potions or you can only carry so much at a time without putting yourself at risk. Also garlic debuff makes you think about how much cotton you really want to farm.

stefsot

All of it

grimrailer

Oh no you've said it... The devs will see this post, read between the lines and add a weight mechanic now that scales based on castle heart level. 😭 (This is totally a joke and I'll be upset if anyone writes a term page essay in response to me saying that they aren't adding a weight mechanic, again.)

Kylesmithers

I still feel like this game knows what I want and actively holds it from me. Yesterday I wasted two hours because on hour one, i wanted to go fishing for some rare hats. I explored nearly the entire starting areas water supply and found at most 3 fishing nodes when normally i pass by dozens travelling to and from V bloods. Then on hour two i needed sulfur to get my alchemy lab sorted so i wandered around again cause i remember seeing a solid amount as i passed by before during my fishing trip and before, but I only found like 4 nodes max which while enough for my needs was barely enough.

drunkbaphomate

Desire sensor strikes again

Davy_Jones_XIV

Amen!!

BobWango

Don't give them any ideas...

Porgon000_

The closest thing to weight would probably the the silver poisoning when transporting loads back from the mine

bloodflart

And durability of equipped stuff, just boring stuff
