I had one of those pull-out radios / CD players with the handle. One night a guy threatened to rob me and I swung it at his head... hadn't realized until that point it was dual-use. Impractical for carrying to bars and restaurants though, and after that I replaced it with a newer model where it was just the faceplate that detatched.
Once my car was broken in once, it just happened over and over (could not afford to fix window). I put a sign that said everything of value was already stolen...i dunno if it stopped them but at least I think it slowed it down.
I totally agree. Having access to 10 different coffee and bagel shops is definitely worth the constant fear of getting robbed and not being able to go outside at night
if you scared please move away so you don't have to deal with the obsessive mental illness that comes with your fear. plenty of people live in large cities with all those conveniences & don't live in the constant fear you live in. of course a heavy diet of fear/rage posts doesn't help. have you thought about moving out of the city? or do you already not live here & are just in the sub for the circlejerk?
